feel just as you do. I have gotten to the point where I just don't have the time or the energy to answer some of the ridiculous accusations against Obama.

I realize that Obama is not perfect, none of us is, and in the course of campaigning the truth gets stretched on both sides. However, never have I seen the like of the untrue garbage being spewed with such hate as this campaign by the republican party. It seems that the more desperate the campaign gets the worse and the more laughable the accusations get. One big thing that I have gotten from this campaign, as well as the financial meltdown, is that the people in control think that the rest of us are stupid and will buy anything they dish out to us. There are actually people that think everything that is on the internet is true. Not true! We need to keep questioning everything and hold our politicians feet to the fire, look for reliable sources of information not just ones that tell us what we want to hear, double check everything, and, lastly, try to be nicer to each other. Amen.

Looks like the fights are already starting in the WH

between Pelosi and the O.

"The California Democrat is pushing the president-elect to make good on a campaign promise that attracted some of the harshest criticism during the election -- that Mr. Obama is a typical tax-and-spend Democrat who would raise taxes once in office.

Mr. Obama has fought that label, emphasizing that any tax increase would be directed at those making more than $250,000. However, since the election, Mr. Obama has been reluctant even to raise taxes on people making that much.

Lawrence Summers, Mr. Obama's choice for director of the National Economic Council, signaled again Sunday that repealing the Bush tax cuts would not be a priority.

"Our overall focus is going to be on increasing spending," Mr. Summers said in a broadcast interview. "Beyond that, there's going to be a substantial tax cut for the American people."

OMG. JTBB, I'm starting to believe

you're a blind dem. The aboe poster stated his/her thoughts and most of them are true to form. If you don't belive in your country, you are not patriotic. Just because some of us don't believe O is going to do a good job is not a reason to call someone a loon.

I decided, after he was elected, to give him a chance, bvut all I can see is that he is digging us deeper in the hole. I though the bill passed the other day would help some people who were in deep trouble even though they did everything right, would get help...but, again, O is just helping the people who really didn't deserve help. I think you should wake up and start reading a bit more and/or listening a bit more to those who know what is really going on in this country.

A bit of advice... if you have any money in your bank over $100K, you best get it out of there. Although the FDIC is promising a guarantee up to $250K temporarily, the money will not be guaranteed if the country goes broke IMHO.

So, you are defending what?  Bush's war on terror/axis of evil?  Torture?  Lying to the American public as well as the UN?  Or perhaps our inadequacy in successfully handling our economy since the start of the Reagan era?

Conservative starting trouble
It is obvious this is a conservative trying to start trouble on the liberal board.  Who cares what you think about Senator Clinton?  Cast your vote and lets see how the country thinks..A level headed calm thinking democrat or a rash testosterone so out of touch with reality dangerous republican.  Oprah had a show on universal health insurance a few weeks ago and a professor was on and stated that when the conservatives want to scare the people or distract from programs to benefit the people, they say it is socialism.  Well, what I want to know is, what do you call the health insurance program the Congress has?  That most definitely is government health insurance, so I guess socialism?.  Well, if it is good enough for the Congress, it is good enough for the people. What do you call the govt programs that build bridges, roads, dams, run schools, etc., etc., etc..?  Socialism?  The govt must help the people of this country.  We pay our taxes and we have a right to govt programs to better the lives of the people of America.  I am so sick of conservatives and thankfully most of America is too.
That's like starting a forum for pet lovers

And then saying they can only talk about pets they don't have any more, not their current ones!  Or a car enthusiasts forum where people can only speak of vehicles they used to own, not what they currently drive.

What's the point in this forum, then, to only talk about the future or the past, not the present?  How ridiculous!

i like the idea of starting at the bottom
giving the common people a break rather than sticking us from behind. I don't know what the monetary amount should be per mortgage. I heard Whoopi this morning throwing out the idea of 25% to the people who have taken out mortgages since 2003. One of the gals on the view also talked about these people who were given these loans that were very low interest at the beginning and then after a few years had the interest raised. Why can't the mortgage companies offer them a lower interest rate again? At least they would be getting something!! They are all greedy. I think the idea of bailing the mortgage companies out is disgusting. I realize people should never get in over their heads to begin with but these mortgage companies and any government official who had a hand in it were out for themselves, thinking in the end they were going to win..... no loss to them.... well guess what? they got a little too greedy and I think rather than slapping their little hands, THEY should be the ones to pay the price. I don't care if it's Rush's idea, Whoopi's, etc... How about for once our government listens to the PEOPLE of this country rather than looking out for their own butts.
Ohio is already starting to vote
Just heard on the news that in Ohio they have already starting holding the election and people can vote for president.  I don't know who this benefits and don't care at this point, but I thought election day was 11/4.  Can someone explain why people are allowed to vote ahead of time.
I am afraid he is going to let people down, already starting.

They're not happy unless they are starting trouble.

They don't want to debate.  All they want to do is attack and chase away people who don't agree with them.  They don't want liberals on their board, but they refuse to practice what they preach.

This is the reason the administrator created a conservative and liberal board.  They have their own board, but that's not enough for them.  It's typical of how they must control everyone's thoughts and deeds and even which God they worship.

The Mormon Church.

I came across this article last night:
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/11/11/baptizing.dead.jews.ap/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

NEW YORK (AP) -- Holocaust survivors said Monday they are through trying to negotiate with the Mormon church over posthumous baptisms of Jews killed in Nazi concentration camps, saying the church has repeatedly violated a 13-year-old agreement barring the practice.

snip

In 1995, Mormons and Jews inked an agreement to limit the circumstances that allow for the proxy baptisms of Holocaust victims. Ending the practice outright was not part of the agreement and would essentially be asking Mormons to alter their beliefs, church Elder Lance B. Wickman said Monday in an interview with reporters in Salt Lake City.

We don't think any faith group has the right to ask another to change its doctrines," Wickman said. "If our work for the dead is properly understood ... it should not be a source of friction to anyone. It's merely a freewill offering."

The Mormon Church was also a major financial backer (I think THE major financial backer) of California Prop 8.

I am fully in favor of any religion observing their own doctrine within the bounds of the law. However, I also believe that their doctrine should be theirs and theirs alone. It cannot be an excuse or a reason for infringing on the civil or religious rights of others.

I'm starting to think you're punking us all, JTBB.
Really, fess up. You're just doing this for a laught, right? I mean, if you believed even 1/100th of the crappola you post here, you'd have to be either the most cultified brainwashed half-wit, or Obama's secret love child with a daddy fetish that's off the charts.

Everything O does makes you wet yourself with glee.

Anytime someone points out a legitimate beef with O, you become this juvenile neener-neener playground kid. Your arguments have absolutely no substance, yet you squat on plain hard facts when they are presented in a reasonable manner.

Or maybe you're just really, really high up in Oblahma's confidentiality circle. Like the Czar of MT Mesage Board Enlightenment or something. Do you get a twitter from the oval O every morning with the day's 'talking points' or something?

I'd love to introduce you to a certain lady on the message boards of the company I work for. She's an outright nutjob, and her parroted words are nearly identical to yours. Every time someone says, 'hey, whatever happened to that whole transparency thing' or 'didn't he say he was going to cut the pork and work across the aisle' she barks out the old Leftist Lunatic Word-A-Day calendar and spiels her precooked rant. (Her current fad is waterboarding.)

Oh, oh, I know! Maybe you're just a little bitty ACORN who hopes to grow up into a big bushy tree one day. Is that it? Honestly, I want to know. Cause, in all honesty, if you were actually SERIOUS about the junk you post here, you'd be a really, REALLY scary person.

Please just assure us all you're just havin' a laugh, and then we can all laugh along. You can't possibly be a mean-spirited as you come off in your posts. No one can, right?

Maybe you should spend more time hugging puppies or treat yourself to a nice ice-cream cone or something. You know? Lighten up and enjoy life. At this point, you're about the only one left dragging around that tired old YES WE CAN sign, and it must get awful heavy.

I'm sending happy thoughts your way.

But if I had any doubts before about Gov. Palin, I think I've just been put in my place!!!

McCain aides whose judgment I trust are impressed by Sarah Palin. One was particularly amused by this exchange: A nervous young McCain staffer took it upon himself to explain to Palin the facts of life in a national campaign, the intense scrutiny she’d be under from the media, the viciousness of the assault that she’d be facing, etc.:

Palin: “Thanks for the warning. By the way, do you know what they say the difference is between a hockey mom and a Pit Bull?”

McCain aide: “No, Governor.”

Palin: “A hockey mom wears lipstick.”
It takes one to 'know' one, doesn't it?

I didn't copy the entire thing (no no, right?).  It appears that you'd have to go to the site to download it.  Keep an eye out to see if the drivebys (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NPR, NYT, etc.) mention it.  I'm hoping they'll have no choice.  There will be a ton of crying and hand wringing beforehand, you can be sure if it ever happens at all.

Family Told Obama NOT To Wear Soldier Son's Bracelet... Where is Media?
By Warner Todd Huston
September 28, 2008

Barack Obama played the "me too" game during the Friday debates on September 26 after Senator John McCain mentioned that he was wearing a bracelet with the name of Cpl. Matthew Stanley, a resident of New Hampshire and a soldier that lost his life in Iraq in 2006. Obama said that he too had a bracelet. After fumbling and straining to remember the name, he revealed that his had the name of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek of Merrill, Wisconsin.
Shockingly, however, Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son's name on it. Yet Obama continues to do so despite the wishes of the family.
Radio host Glenn Moberg of the show "Route 51" asked Mr. Jopek, a man who believes in the efforts in Iraq and is not in favor of Obama's positions on the war, what he and his ex-wife think of Obama continually using their son's name on the campaign trail.
Jopek began by saying that his ex-wife was taken aback, even upset, that Obama has made the death of her son a campaign issue. Jopek says his wife gave Obama the bracelet because "she just wanted Mr. Obama to know Ryan's name." Jopek went on to say that "she wasn't looking to turn it into a big media event" and "just wanted it to be something between Barack Obama and herself." Apparently, they were all shocked it became such a big deal.
But, he also said that his ex-wife has refused further interviews on the matter and that she wanted Obama to stop wearing the reminder of her son's sacrifice that he keeps turning into a campaign soundbyte. This begins at about 10 minutes into the radio program. (Download radio show HERE)    (H/T D. Keith Howington of www.dehavelle.com)

That is always how socialism takes hold....
promises, pretty speeches, and class warfare. How many posts have you seen here about "I am tired of the rich getting richer" and "we need someone to represent the middle class, not the rich" yada yada. It is already taking hold. And it NEVER works. All you end up with in socialism is all the money at the top (the government and cronies) and the rest of us at the bottom. The middle class DISAPPEARS. Look at venezuela...at Cuba...at the USSR before it broke up...and they will drag us all down the drain with them.

But mark my words...if it happens, won't be THEIR fault. Would be laughable if not so darned sad.
Anyone who takes Fox tabloid seriously is not worth it and
