I will not tolerate continued slamming of the President and this country. Ask yourself what you're really gaining by doing so. My political affiliation has NO bearing on this whatsoever. I expect people to behave appropriately on all forums. ForuMatrix is a website that is open to the entire world, not just the US and I am ashamed of some of what I read knowing that people in other countries are reading it too. Don't think for a minute that I am only pointing out the Liberal board. Far from it. I've had to come down on some posters on the Conservatives board, too. So, what this all comes down to is that respectful posting will be adhered to or I won't allow posting. We need to go back to old fashioned VALUES, if we think that way then the words we write won't be as cutting. You may not agree with me and that is your prerogative and I am not trying to censor you, rather I would prefer that you and others post in kind and with respect.

Surely you would agree that when accused of something we should have a chance for rebuttal? And that our rebuttal would surely include proof/evidence of why we took a particular stand? Would you deny the liberal board that right? SOME of us may be tolerant (or as Nan put it, "sissies") but some of us are very capable of speaking up for ourselves.
I have read Nan on this board (and others as well) for almost two years so I think I have a pretty fair grasp of her opinion and style of posting.

I did not say I have information on IP addresses..I suggested to the conservatives if they think I am constantly posting with other handles than my own, they could contact the administrator and ask her to check the IP address of the posts the conservatives keep saying I am posting under and it would prove I ONLY POST UNDER GT, NO OTHER HANDLE..Those other posters are NOT ME..The administrator of this site of course can check IP addresses..NOT US, the administrator..

She did not say to stay off the boards. She said not to slam posters. Now, if you can manage to take a second of your time and check out the conservative board, you will see the same thing is taking place there. The only difference is that they are not whining about it. Get real.

The topics and information are limitless, freedom of speech is guaranteed for ALL, and although there are a few hateful people there, it's nothing compared to the hate and anger and rage that is found on this board. You don't have to be subjected to personal attacks in a street gang mentality that happens here because you can simply click the ignore button. All in all, I believe a truer, better representation of what America really is can be found there.

I agree with you. But this board has a history and as you can see, on both boards, the minute an opposing point of view comes on board, the moderators are summoned. It's a fact. This used to be a combined board but it was separated because of constant insults and failure to behave as mature adults.

I had assumed, as most reading this board would also, that the Merry Christmas was somewhat passive-aggressive. It is quite peculiar to bash someone repeatedly and rudely and then top it off with MERRY CHRISTMAS and then wonder why they didn't acknowledge the greeting.

I read fast and type past, and I have many who help me research. We do have other places we post and other things we do for the candidate. So now you can stop wondering. :)

think he intended to suggest that she was a pig. It was just an unfortunate use of words and in politics perception is everything. THe people at the rally he was talking to certainly perceived it as their candidate finally fighting back...you could tell by the reaction. THEY thought he meant it that way. Perceptions...lots of people DO think he meant it that way. I am not one of them. However, his camp has been really quick to haul out the videos for political hay (and not all of them true, just innuendo), and the McCain camp did the same thing here. He opened that door with a bad choice of words...and there it is. It's not like Obama doesn't capitalize on every slip of his tongue...we talked about the how many houses thing for a week. This is no different. He just used an unfortunate phrase and here we are.

Last I knew, everyone is entitled to speak their mind no matter what their views are, but if you are going to do so on a public board you should have facts to back up your statements because they will very rarely go unchallenged. Everyone who stirs the pot risks getting burned.

reveal about the poster than they do the subject. I feel extremely lucky to be living and politically aware during this time. I think Obama has much potential for greatness and look forward to watching him grow and govern. There will always be folks who disagree with the president and complain - that's the magnificance of living in a democracy.He appears to me to be the first in a long, long time who sought the office to improve our lives rather than just gain political power.
