Tea parties vs the million man march

All this controversy over the number in attendance af last week's tea parties, and who was there!  I would think over a quarter-million participants would rank right up there as far as demonstration statistics go.

There was another demonstration in 1995 which planned to attact a million demonstators.  Wikipedia has this:

......... Finally, within the first twenty-four hours following the March a conflict between March organizers and Park Service officials erupted over crowd size estimates. Initially, the National Park Service issued an estimate of about 400,000 attendees; a number significantly lower than March organizers had hoped for. After a heated exchange between leaders of the March and Park Services the estimate was raised to 850,000*  but still fell short of the organizers’ estimate of over 1 million. The controversy over the number of men who actually participated in the March has yet to be firmly resolved.  *[guess they were getting the 2 for 1 special?]

Even back then, folks were hollering 'recount,'  I don't recall seeing any female or white faces in that crowd, either. I think that was pretty sexist and racist.  The point is, you hang with like-minded individuals.  Nobody put out the 'whites only' sign at the tea parties.  It was equal opportunity, and if you were a hard-working black business owner you might have been there.

She did loan her campaign 10 million dollars - she owes over 20 million - but...
Hillary says she is not worried about paying herself off, just the other people she owes money to (but I bet she will get her money back somehow). I just read where Barack personally wrote her a check himself for $2300 (the most by law any individual can contribute to a campaign).

The problem is her donors expect him to help her pay this money off if he wants them to continue to support his campaign financially, and he needs their money to finance the general election campaign. Also, they say Hillary can devote more time campaigning and helping his financial situation if she is not having to try to raise money still for her debts.

So anyway, there it is in a nutshell...
NSA went to phone companies. Phone
companies told to route domestic calls outside U.S., and then reroute calls to the US, and then they spied on Americans' phone calls.  Oh yes, let's spread freedom all over the world, but where's ours?!
MARCH 28
I was born on March 28, 1948.  I am sure people would "That figures." That was Easter Sunday. Easter has never come on March 28 since then. guess that kind of makes us special Easter bunnies, huh.
Not all vets march in ...
lock step any more than any of us do.  My Vietnamese veteran friends see things differently and this should come as no surprise to you. I still do not know what it was we were trying to **win.**   Whatever it was, it was not worth the toll it took and is still taking on us. We are still divided by that war (excuse me, conflict) in Viet Nam.  Enlighten me please, what were we **not allowed to win.**
We will be married 2 years in March
I was 20, he was 23. Got engaged and waited a year before we married. Best decision ever :)

I guess when you know you just know huh?
We the people march on Washington, DC

I found and joined resistnet.com because I love my country.  It is a very sad, sad day to see it marching towards marxism/socialism, which has failed in every country it has been tried.

Do you love this country?  Does the blood shed for our freedoms still matter to you?  If so, then please take a moment and join the "We the People" March on Washington DC.  This group is a grassroots planning and organizing effort to put on a peaceful demonstration on May 30, 2009. We are looking for conservatives to join us and assist us in preserving our Consitution and holding our elected officials accountable to the oath of office they have sworn to. We need you to join us and get involved on the State level marches that will also be held across the country.  Every state is participating!

Don't you think it's time we fire any elected official who doesn't uphold, protect, and preserve our 'We the People's" Constitution?

Please join us and invite your friends and families also.

Wash. Post and the Freedom March
'Wash Post' Will Drop Sponsorship Of 'Freedom' March If It Turns Political

Editor & Publisher

Published: August 12, 2005 3:30 PM ET

"NEW YORK The Washington Post has no plans to withdraw its co-sponsorship of a controversial Sept. 11 memorial walk being organized by the Department of Defense, according to Publisher Bo Jones. But, he said the paper would pull out if the event turns out to be some kind of pro-war or political march."

Post Executive Editor Leonard Downie, Jr. declined to comment on the paper's involvement, other than to say, "it does not affect our coverage."

"But Rick Weiss, a Post science reporter and co-chair of the Washington Post unit of the Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild, noted the hypocrisy of the paper's involvement, since it bars reporters from participating in partisan events. "It is dismaying, to say the least, that I can be fired for participating in a peace march while my employer feels free to co-sponsor an event that so blatantly beats the drum of war," Weiss stated."

Iraqis march for secular state...

See link for entire article.

Meanwhile, Tuesday, Officials said insurgents were trying to deepen the political turmoil surrounding the contested vote. Preliminary figures have given a big lead to the religious Shiite bloc that controls the current interim government.

The new violence came as three opposition groups threatened a wave of protests and civil disobedience if fraud charges are not properly investigated. The warning came from the secular Iraqi National List, headed by former Shiite Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, and two Sunni Arab groups.

More than 10,000 people, some carrying photos of Allawi, demonstrated Tuesday in favor of a government that would give more power to Sunni Arabs and secular Shiites. Marches chanted No Sunnis, no Shiites, yes for national unity.

We're protesting to reject the elections fraud. We want to ask the government and the elections commission: 'Where did our votes go? Who stole them?' said Abdul Hamid Abdul Razzaq, a 45-year-old barber who attended the massive protest.

A similar protest in Baqouba ended with arrests. Police rounded up several people — most of them high school students — and took them into custody, Donelan reports.

Iraq's Electoral Commission said Monday that final results for the 275-seat parliament could be released in about a week.

Sunni Arab and secular Shiite factions are demanding that an international body review more than 1,500 complaints, warning they may boycott the new legislature. They also want new elections in some provinces, including Baghdad. The United Nations has rejected an outside review.

We will resort to peaceful options, including protests, civil disobedience and a boycott of the political process until our demands are met, said Hassan Zaidan al-Lahaibi of the Sunni-dominated Iraqi Front for National Dialogue. He spoke in neighboring Jordan, where representatives of the groups have met in recent days.

The election commission considers 35 of the complaints serious enough to change some local results. But Farid Ayar, a commission official, said there was no reason to cancel the entire election.

He also said preliminary results from early votes by soldiers, hospital patients, prisoners and overseas Iraqis showed a coalition of Kurdish parties and the main Shiite religious bloc each taking about a third. Those nearly 500,000 votes were not expected to alter overall results significantly.

Preliminary results previously released gave the United Iraqi Alliance, the religious Shiite coalition dominating the current government, a big lead — but one unlikely to allow it to govern without forming a coalition with other groups.

Alliance leader Abdul Aziz al-Hakim traveled to the northern Kurdish city of Irbil on Tuesday to discuss the formation of a governing coalition with Jalal Talabani, Iraq's Kurdish president, and Massoud Barzani, president of the Kurdish region.

Al-Hakim's secretary Haitham al-Husseini said there would also be negotiations with Sunni Arabs. Al-Husseini said the Alliance has proposed distributing the top six Cabinet positions, the three-member presidency council and top three parliament slots among the political blocs.

You can google his taxation attempt in March
I see what is really going on here. For weeks I heard Obama won't tax us, he's gonna save the middle class, yaddda, yadda, yadda, and you call all facts lies. Now, I'm so sorry you think the actual bill on capital hill which he helped propose is a lie, which means you think he is a lie, but his vote is there.

Get off your lame brain duff and googgle it, if you dare!

In your response, what I see if someone who truly does not care about this country at all but chooses to believe you are going to get a bigger free ride. If you think his taxation attempt on YOU, the poor middle class or whatever, is going to get a tax cut, I dare you to look it up for yourself. I know you won't....you don't want to see the truth about this man.
You can march in lock step with the Marxist...
socialist idea of "equal opportunity for all Americans" if you like. He was the member of a church for 20 years that preached black liberation theology. It is NOT about equal opporunity for ALL Americans. Programmed is right. Get with it? Not in this lifetime.

Sure looks great for 8 months along!

Another 750,000 jobs lost in March. Wait, I exaggerate. It was 742,000.
Whew!  For a minute there, I thought we hit three-quarters of a million jobs lost. By the way - the unemployment numbers only reflect people out of work and seeking employment.  They don't reflect the number who have given up the search.  And they won't reflect the kids looking for work this summer and not finding it.

and who wants to tell a stranger on the phone
who they are voting for anyway?? I have had several calls and I do not tell anyone who i am voting for. This is still America, right? isn't my vote my business and no one else's??? That amazes me - that people will tell a perfect stranger who just happens to have their phone number who they will vote for.
You must not have heard the phone ad yet they are
Hang on to your hat. Thing is, the only phone call I got from the O camp was Michelle asking me if I would consider supporting her husband. When I told her yes, she said "that's great" and that was that. The incoming call was clearly identified, giving me the option to answer or not.

You will catch the gist of the new ad on this evening's news. I will be willing to bet my 401K those calls wil arrive under the caler-ID radar. The content is as I have described in the previous post and in my way of thinking, WAY, WAY over the top.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.
I don't think the phone call to CBS was a big deal....sm
This call has nothing to do with politics but more of a favor to a friend. He used his influence to help a friend out. Looks like CBS owed him the money anyway. Friends help each other out this way all the time, no harm done IMHO.

Travelgate is a different story. Firing the people for not reason to appoint friends is cronyism.

Annoying phone call
You have no idea what is about to happen to this country if you do indeed vote for Hussane Obama. He is a socialist, and worse than that. Bottom line, truth of the matter is he wants to turn this country to socialism. You did not have to answer your phone. You chose to answer your phone. If you picked up the phone and realized what the add was you just hang up. How difficult is that? On the other hand, if Hussane Obama's group would have been on the other line, you would have fallen all over yourself. Come November remember this one thing if you do not remember anything else, you chose to vote for a "known terrorist." I do not know what news you are "listening too." I personally do NOT watch mainline TV -- esp not Communist network (CNN) as they are very slanted and do not deliver the true matters of things. Just remember you were warned, and if you vote a known terrorist backer then when this country becomes socialistic....you are the one who helped put him in there. YOu should be thankful for what you have already, and thankful for that phone call.
I'll answer the phone!!!!

Pat *Leaky* Leahy aided NSA Phone Taps

Looks like one of your own started the modern NSA wiretaps.  I think the Democrats fail to realize there's this thing out there called the Internet and not just the bullhorn of the leftist media to give the peasants amnesia to what they've done in the past.

Pat Leaky Leahy Aided NSA Phone Taps

In 1994 Sen. Pat Leaky Leahy co-wrote a law that forced telecommunications carriers to build convenient wiretap features into their networks enabling the kind of telephone records collection now at the heart of the controversy over the National Security Agency's terrorist surveillance operation.

In recent days Leahy has called the NSA's actions troubling and potentially illegal - saying they show that the Bush administration is treating Americans like terrorists.

'The secret collection of phone call records of tens of millions of Americans? he exclaimed after USA Today blew the lid off the program last week. Are you telling me that tens of millions of Americans are involved with al-Qaeda?

But according to the Rutland Herald, Leahy was singing a different tune 12 years ago, when he was pushing the Senate to pass his bill, the Communication Assistance for Law Enforcement Act [CALEA].

I suggest to senators if anybody does want to hold [CALEA] up, I hope that at this time next year, neither they nor their constituents, nor anybody they know, is a kidnap victim or victim of a terrorist, and have somebody ask why nothing can be done, and be told because a law that had probably 99 percent support in the House and the Senate did not pass.

Contacted by the Herald earlier this week, Leahy said there was an important difference between what his law authorized and the actions taken by the Bush administration.

That law talks of the technology of the interception and what technology can be used to intercept and it assumes very clearly that it can only be done with a warrant, the Vermont Democrat insisted.

Some legal experts say, however, said that assumption is not as clear as Leahy claims. Analyzing CALEA in 2003, the Rutgers Computer & Technology Law Journal explained:

CALEA requires a telecommunications provider to make 'its equipment, facilities, or services ... capable of ... enabling the government ... [without a warrant] to intercept ... all wire and electronic communications carried by the carrier.'

Civil libertarians are also troubled by Leahy's law.

The secret search and wiretap provisions could lead to an age of Big Brother-like surveillance, the American Civil Liberties Union complained in the same Law Journal report. Americans who oppose U.S. policies and who are believed to have ties to foreign powers could find their homes broken into and their telephones tapped.

Phone-Jamming Records Point to White House

More Bush dirty tricks.

Phone-Jamming Records Point to White House

By LARRY MARGASAK, Associated Press WriterMon Apr 10, 4:55 PM ET

Key figures in a phone-jamming scheme designed to keep New Hampshire Democrats from voting in 2002 had regular contact with the White House and Republican Party as the plan was unfolding, phone records introduced in criminal court show.

The records show that Bush campaign operative James Tobin, who recently was convicted in the case, made two dozen calls to the White House within a three-day period around Election Day 2002 — as the phone jamming operation was finalized, carried out and then abruptly shut down.

The national Republican Party, which paid millions in legal bills to defend Tobin, says the contacts involved routine election business and that it was preposterous to suggest the calls involved phone jamming.

The Justice Department has secured three convictions in the case but hasn't accused any White House or national Republican officials of wrongdoing, nor made any allegations suggesting party officials outside New Hampshire were involved. The phone records of calls to the White House were exhibits in Tobin's trial but prosecutors did not make them part of their case.

Democrats plan to ask a federal judge Tuesday to order GOP and White House officials to answer questions about the phone jamming in a civil lawsuit alleging voter fraud.

Repeated hang-up calls that jammed telephone lines at a Democratic get-out-the-vote center occurred in a Senate race in which Republican John Sununu defeated Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, 51 percent to 46 percent, on Nov. 5, 2002.

Besides the conviction of Tobin, the Republicans' New England regional director, prosecutors negotiated two plea bargains: one with a New Hampshire Republican Party official and another with the owner of a telemarketing firm involved in the scheme. The owner of the subcontractor firm whose employees made the hang-up calls is under indictment.

The phone records show that most calls to the White House were from Tobin, who became President Bush's presidential campaign chairman for the New England region in 2004. Other calls from New Hampshire senatorial campaign offices to the White House could have been made by a number of people.

A GOP campaign consultant in 2002, Jayne Millerick, made a 17-minute call to the White House on Election Day, but said in an interview she did not recall the subject. Millerick, who later became the New Hampshire GOP chairwoman, said in an interview she did not learn of the jamming until after the election.

A Democratic analysis of phone records introduced at Tobin's criminal trial show he made 115 outgoing calls — mostly to the same number in the White House political affairs office — between Sept. 17 and Nov. 22, 2002. Two dozen of the calls were made from 9:28 a.m. the day before the election through 2:17 a.m. the night after the voting.

There also were other calls between Republican officials during the period that the scheme was hatched and canceled.

Prosecutors did not need the White House calls to convict Tobin and negotiate the two guilty pleas.

Whatever the reason for not using the White House records, prosecutors tried a very narrow case, said Paul Twomey, who represented the Democratic Party in the criminal and civil cases. The Justice Department did not say why the White House records were not used.

The Democrats said in their civil case motion that they were entitled to know the purpose of the calls to government offices at the time of the planning and implementation of the phone-jamming conspiracy ... and the timing of the phone calls made by Mr. Tobin on Election Day.

While national Republican officials have said they deplore such operations, the Republican National Committee said it paid for Tobin's defense because he is a longtime supporter and told officials he had committed no crime.

By Nov. 4, 2002, the Monday before the election, an Idaho firm was hired to make the hang-up calls. The Republican state chairman at the time, John Dowd, said in an interview he learned of the scheme that day and tried to stop it.

Dowd, who blamed an aide for devising the scheme without his knowledge, contended that the jamming began on Election Day despite his efforts. A police report confirmed the Manchester Professional Fire Fighters Association reported the hang-up calls began about 7:15 a.m. and continued for about two hours. The association was offering rides to the polls.

Virtually all the calls to the White House went to the same number, which currently rings inside the political affairs office. In 2002, White House political affairs was led by now-RNC chairman Ken Mehlman. The White House declined to say which staffer was assigned that phone number in 2002.

As policy, we don't discuss ongoing legal proceedings within the courts, White House spokesman Ken Lisaius said.

Robert Kelner, a Washington lawyer representing the Republican National Committee in the civil litigation, said there was no connection between the phone jamming operation and the calls to the White House and party officials.

On Election Day, as anybody involved in politics knows, there's a tremendous volume of calls between political operatives in the field and political operatives in Washington, Kelner said.

If all you're pointing out is calls between Republican National Committee regional political officials and the White House political office on Election Day, you're pointing out nothing that hasn't been true on every Election Day, he said.

My husband does just that. He is on the phone weekly with our sens and reps. state and federal. sm
Our congressment and senators et AL are on speed dial. If my husband has a beef or a question, he is on the phone letting them know (nicely of course) that they screwed up. But on the other hand he does call and tell them thank you when they do something right. One of the congressmen from Michigan voted no on the bailout. So he got a call from both of us. Same with the senator from Michigan who voted FOR the bailout. He got a call saying he has just lost 2 votes. We may be a minority, but the aides in those offices know who my husband is..and all he has to say is his first name. If you keep the heat on, hopefully things can change. Maybe not right away, but hopefully at some time. Just not in my lifetime I am afraid.
If I were an independent voter receiving McCain's garbage phone ad this weekend

You're making dinner and trying to sit down with your family to eat after an exhausting work week and pouring over your 401K loss report.  You have just found out that the $42,000 you had accumulated as of last spring is now worth $26,040.  You've just turned off the burner under the hot veggies when, BRRRINNNGGGG, the phone rings.  It's the McCain campaign delivering an urgent message to you in the privacy of your own home, assuming you never listen to network news, read a paper or go on line and are unaware of their latest breaking news....telling you that Barack Obama is a terrorist who hangs with other terrorists, on the off chance that it might capture your previously uncommitted vote.  If it happened to me, I would be up with the chickens Monday morning at the early voting polls telling every single peson within earshot that I had just voted a straight Dem ticket.  How dare they?

Wow 48 million
Where would we have put all those babies? We could build cities just for them.  that's 48 million more vying for welfare, running through the penal system.  How many serial murderers could have been in that 48 million?  The numbers DO speak volumes.  Obviously the condom hasn't caught on.  But that's not the point.  As our populations has grown, so has all of the other statistics, including the number of abortions.  If you have your way, the social ramifications will be HUGE, huge.  You're not into socialist state.  You can't be thinking that if a woman is forced to have a child she doesn't want with more than likely no father to hlep that all of a sudden she is going to turn into June Cleaver because someone says she has to?  The only people who will benefit from overturning Roe vs Wade will be the one who run the black markets on baby selling.  The demographics speak volumes as well.  Where are the largest numbers of abortions happening?  It is not middle class Bible America.  You are choosing the unborn over the living and saying it is okay to sacrifice the mothers and the fathers for the sake of an ideal in a foreign country.  If that is not a complete contradiction I don't know what is.
And I might add...his "credit" will put how many more million...
did it say, into the no tax bracket? the words were "the credit will eliminate federal taxes for 10 million low income families. To add to all the others who don't pay taxes. So how is he going to pay for his big government? He will have to raise everyone's taxes....handwriting on the wall.
Yep. Me and about 70 million other Americans.
x
Yes? Tell that to 40 million dead Jews. NM

25 million people to be exact
be afraid, be very afraid.  It's the vast right wing conspiracy.  Boo!
I am not willing to assume that 1.2 million babies...
would have horrible lives. I can't see killing them all just in case some might suffer. But how is our choice to decide whether or not someone lives based on what kind of life they might have? I think it should be the choice of the creator, myself. I am curious as to what you think your creator thinks about choosing to kill an unborn child? I think mine's heart breaks every time one happens...over 2000 times a day. Yes, that's what I think.

It's quick? It's horrible but its quick? Good grief!!

You keep discounting the right of the child to live. Who are you, the mother, or anyone else, to say that child has no right to live? Do you think your creator endowed you with that right? Just curious.
Over 18 million voted for him in primaries
absolutely NOBODY has voted for Palin in this contest.  Why should we be stuck with yet another Bush?  She "governs" Alaska just as Bush "governed" the country. She likes to handoff decisions to others.  People try to get in contact with her and wear "Where is Sarah?" buttons.  No thanks to McPain.

Obama picks up about $9 million in

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Barack Obama partied with Hollywood celebrities Tuesday night and with the help of Oscar-winning singer and actress Barbra Streisand raised an eye-popping $9 million for his presidential campaign and the Democratic Party.

The night was split into two glitzy events, a reception and dinner costing $28,500 each at the Greystone Mansion, followed by entertainment by Streisand at the nearby Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. About 250 people were expected at the dinner and about 800 at the entertainment, which cost $2,500 a ticket.

It was a day of contrasts for Obama. Earlier in the day, the Democratic presidential candidate spoke about the public's deepening economic anxieties and portrayed Republican challenger John McCain as out of touch with the needs of hardworking people.

Then he flew to California for a night of hobnobbing with Hollywood notables.

McCain groused about Obama mixing it up with celebrities. He told a rally in Vienna, Ohio on Tuesday that Obama "talks about siding with the people, siding with the people just before he flies off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends. Let me tell you my friends, there's no place I'd rather be than here with the working men and women of Ohio."

A night earlier, McCain was with deep-pocketed donors in Florida and raised $5 million, a fact noted by Obama's campaign.

"I don't know who showed up down in Florida where he raised $5 million but my guess is that it wasn't a lot of nurses, firefighters and police officers," Obama's senior strategist, David Axelrod, told reporters. "The whole corporate lobbying community is rallying to his side. We're going to have to struggle to keep pace. You can't challenge that group and not expect them to have a lot of money."

While the final total was not determined, Obama's campaign did not dispute estimates that the twin events would bring in $9 million for Obama and the Democratic Party. That would be his second-biggest, fundraising day. Obama received $10 million from online donors the day after McCain's running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, delivered her speech at the Republican convention.

On another big fundraising night in California, Obama raised $7 million in August in San Francisco.
Obama is financing his presidential race with private contributions after abandoning a pledge to take public financing capped at $84 million. His campaign announced Sunday it had collected $66 million in August, a fundraising record for any presidential candidate in a monthlong period.

By comparison, McCain raised $47 million in August, a personal best for his campaign as well. After claiming the GOP nomination, McCain accepted the $84 million in taxpayer funds allotted by the public financing system for the race.

Wow, suing for 6 million, nuff said.

Unemployment numbers. What is 12.5 Million?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,506405,00.html

What I do not get is it states 4.4 million jobs have been lost since the recession began, but now at 12.5 million. So, about 8 million have been unemployed during, well, basically this year and last year? I guess I am in SHOCK a it is hard for me to want to believe it.

Unemployment by the Numbers: How Bad Is It Hurting?

Friday, March 06, 2009

* ShareThis

More people are unemployed in America than live in Ohio or go to church in Texas.

Unemployment statistics don't usually leap off the page, but the latest report from the Department of Labor offers some astounding figures. More than 651,000 jobs were cut in February, continuing a steep drop that has raised the unemployment rate to 8.1 percent, its highest level since 1983.

Matched up against some of the latest stats made available by the Census Bureau, those numbers really do begin to add up.

• 651,000 jobs were axed in February, a number larger than the populations of:
- Baltimore
- Seattle
- Denver
- El Paso
- Washington, D.C.

• 12.5 million people are unemployed in the U.S., which is more than the number of:
- people watching ABC's "Lost" this season
- women attending college
- male scientists and engineers
- Americans who grow herbs
- people who played tackle football in the past year.

• 12.5 million people is also a number larger than the populations of 45 states, including
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- Michigan
- Virginia

• 4.4 million jobs have been lost since the recession began in December 2007, which is larger than the population of the entire San Francisco Bay Area.

• 2.6 million jobs have been lost in the past four months, which is like every Presbyterian in America getting the ax in one winter, or about the number of senior citizens in Florida.

• 8.6 million people have been forced to work part-time for economic reasons, which is more than the population of New York City, or more than the number of people who try to quit smoking every year.

The roll continues, and it is a stark one: construction companies eliminated 104,000 jobs in February, factories cut 168,000 jobs, retailers sliced nearly 40,000, professional and business services got rid of 180,000, financial companies reduced payrolls by 44,000, and leisure and hospitality firms chopped 33,000 positions.

Despite all the doom and gloom in the Labor Department's numbers, at least one sector had a pretty rosy February: the government boosted its number of employees last month.

claiming to be a Christian does not make you one. Granted even when we become a Christian we still mess up, and are by no means perfect, but we are supposed to TRY to be more Christ-like.

I think I got lucky with my church. The drama is very minimal, if present at all. Of course, there are only about 30-40 of us who are members, that may have something to do with it. Not much room for cliques in a church that small!

Hillary is broke, had to loan herself 5 million.sm
LOL. Maybe she will use her money and Bill's speaking engagement fees to pay for our new Universal Healthcare Program.

Clinton loaned her campaign $5 million

Senator Hillary Clinton confirmed at a press conference in Virginia this afternoon that she'd loaned her campaign $5 million, and said, "The results last night proved the wisdom of my investment.."

Spokesman Howard Wolfson emailed with the news minutes earlier:

Late last month Senator Clinton loaned her campaign $5 million. The loan illustrates Sen. Clinton’s commitment to this effort and to ensuring that our campaign has the resources it needs to compete and win across this nation. We have had one of our best fundraising efforts ever on the web today and our Super Tuesday victories will only help in bringing more support for her candidacy.

As I reported earlier, she's drawing on a pool of personal wealth estimated to be as much as $41 million, as well as a reported payout to Bill Clinton of $20 million from the Los Angeles billionaire manager Ron Burkle.

Clinton told reporters that her fundraising was healthy, but that "my opponent was able to raise more money, and we intended to be competitive, and we were."

Clinton also emailed supporters today with an ambitious online fundraising goal: to, over the course of three days, "raise $3 million to fund our history-making campaign."

There are 1.2 million abortions in this country every year....
and a great many of those are teenagers. Are you saying the parents of all those teenagers lack judgment and responsibility? Check out how many are minorities. So are you now saying that all those minority parents lack judgment and responsibility?

Boy, you are really grasping at straws here. It is hard to believe that you could really even post such a thing, but less believe it!
So, the 2 million dollars went back to Alaska.

Best case scenario, 1 million evacuees.
110 residents from Greater Houston DIED ON THE ROAD during evacuation for Hurricane Rita from Houston 3 years ago.
Better 1.2 million dead babies a year?
I think we get where you are coming from.
He's not talking about million dollar houses.

He's talking about people that got schnuckered so they can keep their homes.  Maybe they would reduce the principle, but that would also keep people in their homes and make the other homes in that neighborhood keep their value.

Do you understand the concept that if the homes around you go into foreclosure then that brings your home value down?

Pretty scary stuff.  Another Great Depression coming?

2.6 million jobs lost in 2008 alone.
There are plenty of able-bodied folks out there who are out of work ALSO through no fault of their own, in view of this ever shrinking job market. Handicapped have to overcome THAT obstacle, too.
