Contrary to popular belief, O supporters
as their divine Savior. Rather, he is just a fine American who cares deeply about his country, running for the highest office in the land. He has the strength to step up to the plate, turn a blind eye toward all that would seek to destroy him and do his best to tackle the mop-up job after one of the most devastating administrations in the history of our country. More that this, we cannot ask. He is calm, thoughtful, inspiring, steady, intuitive and gifted with an uncanny ability to inspire millions of Americans in the throes of an economic collapse to unite behind the simple notion that we can do better, that we are at the dawn of a new day and that our shared imperative is to embrace optimism and confidence in ourselves and in his leadership. In comparison to his opponent, who would use shrub style politics of fear to scare us into voting for him and thinks nothing of igniting culture wars and stoking the fires of division for political gain, there is no contest. Obama deserves the respect he has gained and without a doubt, he the best man for the job.
Actually, it is. Contrary to what O would say...

DH and I are much better off than we were 4 years ago, which is why he is going to tax us for our hard work...probably to give it to you!

On the contrary, Observer...
I am using my right of free speech to encourage others to disregard what I believe to be a forum that you created for your own personal agenda. This is not the forum for debate between conservative and liberal points of view. This posting site is not titled "political debate". Nor is it supposed to provide fodder for you to chew on.

I will speak for most of us in that we do not have a lot of time in the day to try to strike up a conversation amongst ourselves under the liberal forum, and when we to get time to log on, we don't want to have to sift through it, and we shouldn't have to.

If political debate is your preferred forum, perhaps you should email admin to add another posting site to accommodate it?

If you can accomplish this, I would gladly log on and argue point to point with you, but until then I would appreciate it if you stayed on the conservative posting.
much evidence to the contrary
The original author has recanted that garbage and several other soldiers have written their accounts of how friendly Obama was, talking to the troops, thanking them for their service, etc. The author of that email wasn't even there. There are some pictures of Obama with the troops at the link below, about 2/3 of the way down the page. Was it a photo op? Oh, sure, but it proves the email author is a liar.

No, it's not a human right.....contrary to your beliefs
marriage is supposed to be a gift from God for those that actually understand what that means in the first place. No where in the Bible does it talk about 2 men or 2 women having a relationship as blessed by God, but it sure tells us it is WRONG!

How do you manage to be so screwed up that you don't know the difference between homosexuality and difference in color of skin? Last time I checked, blacks go to school with whites and have for a long time, at least they do in my community.... blacks have every right whites have..... homosexuals have every right we ALL have.

Exactly the contrary is true. Israell
is the aggressor and the Palestinians are defending themselves.
All other presidents and Bush just closed their eyes to the fact that the Israelis disregarded the stipulations in former agreements, namely stopping the further construction of settlements and the building of the separation wall. Obama is the first president who follows up on this and demands from Netanyahu that he puts a complete stop to the spread of further settlements in the Westbank.
This is what the whole Arab world is expecting from Obama that 'actions' follow his words. O immediately sent his Middle East envoy, George Mitchell, again to the Middle East.

Your belief
The fact that God may not have willed the way a person came into the world, does not mean He has not planned a purpose for that individual. Long before anyone is conceived, God’s purpose for that life is foreseen.

This is your belief, not mine and not the belief of everyone. If people put as much passion in feeding the hungry as they did the anti-choice movement, I do believe the world would be a better place.

Your are right that you can't equate the too. It is much easier to go out and murder someone with a gun that it is to have an abortion.

Anyway, is it too quiet on your board again? This is the liberal board last I checked. I have never posted on your board (and never intend to).

It is my belief sm

that Vietnam was a starting point to what is happening now, or at least how we got out of Vietnam.  There have been many stepping stones since then, the Iran hostage crisis, Carter's abandonment of the Shah of Iran, the numerous terrorist acts perpetrated against the United States since then.  I have read more than one Middle East expert draw the links to what finally emboldened the radical Islamists to attack us on 9/11.  It is a documented fact that the war protests prolonged the Vietnam war, not shortened it, prolonged it, because North Vietnam was ready to surrender after Tet.  General Giap said this in his book.  However, the NV felt the war protests would turn public sentiment enough that the United States would withdraw. So NV stayed in the fight.

Finally, I will ask you a question that needs to be asked perhaps even more than do you want us to win.  The question is, what if you're wrong.

This is really beyond belief
Prez-O has been in office not even 4 months, and suddenly all the crap that the God-fearing Dubya did is being laid at BO's doorstep? BO got into office because of all those things- Dubya destroyed the economy, was eroding democratic principles, and the bailouts of industry started under him. So run by me again where any of the mess this country is in is Prez-O's fault? Really, though, I guess the only surprise here is that you didn't blame him for the war in Iraq...but I guess religion isn't the only thing some people can have an unfounded belief in.
You mean one who won by 6.8% in popular vote
That's pretty legitimate if you ask me.
Popular vote
You know Obama did not win by a landslide of the popular vote so don't act like the whole country wanted him as president and the ones who didn't are a small minority.  All its going to take is a few more people to people to wake up and if we make it through this term intact, we won't have to worry about a second term.  His approval rating dropped 5% in a week while his disapproval rating went up 7%.  As the economy gets worse and worse the disapproval rating will continue to go up.  The stimulus bill is bloated and oh yeah does everyone know that the "rebate" we are getting in our paychecks is not really a rebate as the tax tables have not changes so some people will actually have to pay next year when they do taxes or not get a refund, guess they forgot to mention that, the housing bill he passed will help very few people...and eventually people will find out nothing he says is the truth. I wonder will happen then.
On the contrary, it indicts the Bush admin...
...just as much as their refusal to listen to warnings from the outgoing Clinton administration about Al Qaeda, and just as much as Bush's initial refusal to appoint a 9/11 commission at all. It's totally consistent with the belief that they have tried to block any serious investigation into the events of 9/11 (and silence anyone who could shed some light on it). Business as usual for them! I'm glad that crappy hand-picked group of power suckups have all been caught with their pants down. If the MSM is ignoring the story at all it's not because it puts Clinton (you know, the one who actually caught and jailed real terrorists who were responsible for attacks right here in the US)in a bad light - if a story gets ignored these days it's because it has the potential to shame Bush further. If that's possible.
This is the mindset and belief of the
elected. True born-again believers, Christians, cannot vote for this person. He does not stand for anything that God teaches us. He claims to be a believer, but I am afraid of what he does and does not believe in. I am sure there are some Christians who are persuaded they are right in voting for him and so be it. But every person who speaks out against Jesus Christ, the Church, and anything moral and decent will quickly defend Obama and be proud of it! WHY?
Foster her belief?????
His campaign has actually admitted they "overlooked" that information and failed to report it. Now you're saying his own campaign is a lie?

An Obama spokesman said Federal Election Commission reports would be amended to show Citizens Services Inc. -- a subsidiary of ACORN -- worked in "get-out-the-vote" projects, instead of activities such as polling, advance work and staging major events as stated in FEC finance reports filed during the primary.

Then I would question their belief in

Belief in God and in evolution are not
in the REAL world. No cop-out here, but I am wondering where this edge of hostility is coming from? If you are getting ready to lecture me, convert me, prosthelitize me, save me or whatever, PLEASE take it to the religion board. The thread is about the EU.
This is really beyond belief..and not just cuz I'm a a heathen

popular vote was Gore
Im trying to remember back from 2000..there was a university, I think maybe University of Chicago..which did a recount and Gore won.  If all the ballots had been counted and all the registered voters who were turned away were allowed to vote, based on the party they were registered under, Gore would have won.  I remember back in 2001, the outrage, so I contacted the university and was assured the public would be allowed a copy of the study on the recount.  Geez..seems like centuries ago..I will check back with my political friends and find out the university..Maybe they still are offering their results on the recount. In any case, however, to be fair, when there is a election in doubt, IMHO, you go with the popular vote, which was Gore.
Y'all are just jealous he's so popular

and you all can't get a liberal talk show to take.  The Air America crowd can't keep themselves from stealing from their network long enough to try to get a quality show off the ground.

If Rush is so wrong then won't you dispute what he says instead of personally attacking him?

my goodness....am I ever popular tonight....lol...
almost as much as you sam!!

When I told them to carry on, they reallllyyyyy carried on.....lol....

Gotta love those dems....
Everybody KNOWS Al Gore won the popular vote
It is awfully coincidental that the state that had the problems counting their votes, which ultimately cost AL Gore the election, was what? Oh thats's right it was....FLORIDA - George Bush's brother's state. You do remember Jeb was governor of Florida during that time, don't you?
I do not think, with all the witnesses and evidence to the contrary, that this laughable, narcissist
say to help himself---what credibility does he have at all?? The only thing I give him points for is the amount of self-delusion he has been able to create for himself, what a piece of work!

I'd be very embarrassed to admit that he was popular, if I were you...kind of reflects on right-w

I saw very little admirable, factual, interesting or thoughtful in his post.  If all these people admire him, like you say, this country is in more trouble than I thought.

Obama could win popular but still lose election - see message

It is possible.  It has happened before.  I think now especially in these final two days, when people are hearing Obama saying in a radio interview that he will bankrupt coal companies and skyrocket electricity bills, a lot of people are really wondering.  Especially the states where coal is their major industry.  They are starting to realize that a vote for the O means they'll be out of work.  Along with the birth certificate issue not being resolved, and other the other numerous questions about the O people are really wondering about him.

My belief? "late-term abortion" or partial-birth abortion" = infanticide, it is sickening
So in these cases I do think, as in most things, there is no ABSOLUTE, but a judicious guideline for this should be investigated and established by the medical community, as far as survival/outcome, but then we must be willing to prosecute mothers and doctors who go outside the guidelines...with established jail terms....and more money to house these "criminals" for years. Why not let God by the ultimate judge, He has the wisdom and the power, and eternity without God is worse than anything we as humans can mandate, don't you think?
