work type either like the other poster do you? One of the other posters gave herself away with the clinic work comment. If you only want to do one type of MT then it limits you to when you can work and how much work there is.

Keep doing what you do and you will always have a job even when these whiners are unemployed.

My gram worked after she started drawing, and I'm pretty sure there are income limits on this kind of thing.

IC earning limit for one company???
Has anyone heard of a law that says you cannot make more than 25,000 a year for one company as an independent contractor?  You can make 50,000 if it is 2 different companies, but one company cannot pay you more than 25,000 a year and if they do, then you must be employee status????  Please email me or respond if you have any information on this. going elsewhere and so are we.
Why dont you "enlighten" us to why people job hop in this business. It couldnt be because we g
stiffed on our pay, lied to, mislead, underpaid, broken promises. Yes, there is a reason why people change jobs. You can only take so much. Is it a wonder that a lot of MT are burned out. Does anyone want to keep changing jobs?? No, it would be great to actually be able to make a living doing what we love the most at one company that follows through on promises. It does kind of take the wind of your sails when your dished out nothing but ........ all the time. So, that is why I stick up for Msla MT. There are more out there right with her.

No the driving force if the MT in transcription. Without the MT the technology couldnt survive.

I have done enough ASR, etc. to tell you that there is no way that technology could survive on its own or any other technology that we have today as well.  The way these people dictate I guarantee you there will always be a need for MTs.  There arent enough doctors now to go around.  Do you really think they are going to sit there and type the reports or care how they look.  They are working twice as hard now for less money. 


No experience because I couldnt even take the transcription tests. The voice files would not play.
How about you? I was bummed. I was really interested in the job but I tried everything to get the voice files to play but they wouldnt. Oh well, I guess if it were meant to be, then I would have been able to take the test.

They claim to pay a shift differential...and I have been working for them since february.  I have 6 years of experience and I am making 8 and a quarter.  Another girl has one year and she is making 8 and a quarter.  the company recently started insourcing work from Spheris and ever since everything has gone down hill.  Paychecks come late and incorrectly.  Previously I had postedthat this was a good company...now I am not so sure...I have recently started working for a second company and am trying to decide what to do...

No way. People that pay that are insulting..I started at 4 cpl and now am up to 5.5 cpl so it's doable.

Wouldnt you think they would have more consideration rather
than just throwing people on with no concern about running out of work.  I guess it is just easier to do that than worry about people working.  Nothing like making an a-- out of people.

But do THEY see the names? Vandy wouldnt have to see them.
And they dont have to know that the work is not being QAd by someone in America with sense just because they see the names.
I tried downloading it into Express Scribe and it wouldnt go into that.
It's a mystery and they have never gotten back to me so I assume as I cannot play their sound file, I wont be considered for the job. I tried everything to get it to work.
I wouldnt even go there. Recruiter leaves a lot to be desired.
Make sure you read the fine print on how you'll be penalized your whole check if the QA in India finds an error in your work. It gets interesting. Now, who do you think it benefits for them to find errors such as punctuation etc..QA based out of India.. things that make you go hmmmm.... The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. There are far better companies out there to work for but best wishes...

I think for me, I'm probably going to bail. It's obvious the recruiter has too much on her plate as we're all getting the same story about forgetting things and contacting us in a timely manner etc..very strange but in this biz..flaky is the name of the game and they think we're the flaky, job hoppers.. I wonder why..Give us a decent job with decent benefits and actually WORK and we'd be happy, but that doesn't happen anymore. We just get jacked around.
So easy to say you had 73 as you cannot/wouldnt want to prove that. All heresay at this point

Yeah, you'd think they would be contributing wouldnt you. They are not huge but big enough I woul
think they'd put in more for insurance. I checked into another and they were $700 a month. I think they had over 100 employees. Again, you would think it'd be cheaper with that many employees/family members but I guess not. I am about ready to bag this at home stuff and go to work for our local hospital.

Unless, your desperate for a job, I'd stay away.  You can do better with a honest company who treats their MTs fairly. JMO. I currently know of three people who are quitting and it wont be long I am sure before others follow suit.
If they weren't Synthescribe, they wouldnt have the same phone number.

How stupid would that be? We were paid a month behind. So when the 18th came we expected our check for the previous month. So that would be one paycheck. No one willingly works for free. I know i certainly wouldnt have typed as much as i did for her - taken time away from everything/everyone else - if i KNEW she wasn't going to pay me. Seriously, I hope she rots for what she has put me and my family through. I'm not talking about a couple hundred bucks. I'm talking thousands of dollars. Yep, I'm ticked
Why would they give you a choice of 16 or 24 hours. Usually part time is anything under 37 hours.

That is extremely odd. Well they must have something up their sleeves. Well I will be working elsewhere part time as well as with MQ as I have no intention of sitting 40 hours with no work from Amherst and be expected to have 150 lph with no work. What is all this window of work time they said they would be giving everyone. I figured all along they would do away with SE. I have already been looking around and ordered a new computer  to send theirs back.


 


Any companies that allow line count rather than hours or less than 20 hours per week? (sm)

Wouldn't mind having something extra especially with Christmas and general winter expenses coming up but working a FT job and really don't want to do another 20 hours on top of that.

Must we choose either 8, 16 or 24 hours. Why would they want someone only working 8 hours a week.
That is less than SE are required now.
MDI-FL. Approximately 7 hours a month x12 months =84 hours
And your PTO acrues from day 1. You are just unable to utilize it until after 90 days. They have excellent benefits.
You can have insurance at 30 hours with Encompass, 32 hours with eTransPlus. nm

10-15 an hour for 8 hours is better than nothing for 8 hours when there is no work.
