transcend used to be good but they got too greedy -

too many Indians, too much crappy voice recognition that is not even close, a horrible platform that has multiple problems, line counts that are always a hours to a day late (reminds me of another company where no matter what I did I could never get over 1000 lines over the required minimum counts), and the nastiest ROMs in the business. You can have your transcend.

Ha -- good for you. If more people stood up to the greedy cheats, maybe sm
we wouldn't be facing this now.  I miss the day of the gross line, but that's hard to find anymore, and if you do find it, even then sometimes they try to cheat you and make it a 100-character line .. sheesh (okay, I exaggerate a tad, but only a tad).

Is Transcend a good company with a good platform to work on. They are advertising.
:
He is GREEDY!!!
From his name, he is not an American born citizen. He's helping their poverty. They speak EXCELLENT ENGLISH?? LOL, LOL!!!!!!!!!
GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY
I cannot BELIEVE you would expect a Christmas gift from your employer. I have been in healthcare for 30 years at various institutions and companies and have NEVER gotten a Christmas gift or bonus...
GREEDY
I agree with you. This What's in it for me attitude is disheartening. How many of us think of giving to or doing something FOR our employer? I am just grateful to have a job in this economy. That is my Christmas present.
transcend good or bad?

Seriously - can anyone give me some info about Transcend?   How is management?  How is QA?  How is the work - enough or not enough to keep busy?Would like to hear from MTs working for them now or have worked for them.

IMO - Transcend is as good as it gets!
I have worked for Transcend for 3+ years. I have also worked for other LARGE outsourcing companies and on-site for different medical facilities.

In my opinion, Transcend is at the top of the heap as far as professionalism and ethical standards are concerned. The company has grown substantially since I started and they continue to provide their employees improvements to the benefit packages every year.

Their typing/editing platform is state of the art, and to go with it is excellent training and prompt top-notch support when you need it. This is not something I have received anywhere else.

If you are a competent medical language specialist capable of doing a broad spectrum of work types, you WILL NEVER run out of work.

If work work third shift and meet your productivity requirements, YOU WILL ALWAYS get work before any off-shore personnel (if that exists on an account you are assigned to -- it's the customer's choice, not Transcend's).

In addition, if you need help with anything, your management team is just an email away! No long curious waits, here!!

If you are capable of learning the ESL and challenging dictators, you will end up doing transcription because those don't usually get processed through the editing platform, so if that's your cup o' tea, that is always an option, which is a profitable option I have taken advantage of, myself.

BOTTOM LINE -- If you are having such a hard time with a company such as Transcend, I doubt you will be happy anywhere. I know first hand that Transcend respects good employees and takes care of them well.

oops...not about GREEDY but... sm
My subject line looks like I'm saying Who isn't greedy? LOL ! My post is referring to the Acusis CEO not being an American. (Whether or not he's *greedy* remains to be seen.)
What's greedy is when people
are always thinking about what they can GET rather than what they can GIVE. Gimme, gimme, gimme......
WHO'S THE GREEDY? LET'S GET REAL!..SM

And MTSOs don't have greedy CEOs??  Who pushes outsourcing, VR, MT pay cuts, etc?  Not the hospitals!  The AAMT, et.al. have been around a long time before the MT industry went sour.  And who is the greedy middleman who saw a fast buck to be made with MTs?  Not the hospitals. (Guess who the middleman who's making that buck is.)  Does it makes sense that hospitals would pay their other employees the going wage for their respective positions and have a hand in undercutting only the MTs.  They (hospitals) have no direct say in our salaries.  Sure, they will try to obtain the most cost-effective contracts, whether MT, cleaning personnel, cafeteria workers, etc.  Who wouldn't?  Do you hear their employees blaming the hospitals when they're not paid prime wage?  They're making top $$$.  Let's put blame where blame is due!

You state that if hospital CEOs weren't so greedy, the poor MTSOs could pay their MTs more.  DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT, IF THAT WERE THE CASE, THE MTSOs WOULD PASS ON THE EXTRA BUCKS TO THEIR MTs???  Really?  Don't you think they'd put it in their own greedy little pockets?? ( If you're not a MTSO yourself) ... think about what makes more sense!

I don't think MTSO's are greedy
I think some may be greedy, but many others are probably trying very hard to juggle variable workloads with variable staff.

I know. I am an MT now, but was an MTSO - it's not nearly as easy as people might think.

We have to remember not to paint them all with the same brush...
Transcend - good, bad, middle?
Anyone care to comment? They have oncology work and it's my thang...
I had a good experience with Transcend
I had to leave for personal reasons.  I can say though the training was adequate.  The people were very nice and communicative.  The pay was not bad at all and actually better than most companies.  Unfortunately I am not allowed to discuss what the pay was because it is not allowed to be discussed.  I would say so go for it.  The recruiter was really nice and answered all of my questions.  If she did not know the answer, she got it fairly quickly.  I dont' have a bad thing to say.  They do pay on time.
Transcend? Keystrokes? Good or bad?
Does anyone know anything about this company?  Keystrokes?
Transcend...good bad and ugly

Would like any current info on them.....Got hired and would like to know if it is worthwhile to take the job or not.

Thanks!

Transcend is a good place...
I always try to post this:  The recruiter is excellent.  She's awesome...  The equipment came fast.  I had a death in the family during training.  They totally understood and was going to hire me back, but the need they had were different than the days I could commit to, but I highly recommend Transcend.  They even started me higher than any other company I had contact with at that time.  This was about 3 years ago.
So you DO expect something - even a card. GREEDY !!
nm
Fortunately, not all companies are so greedy that they
use VR to cut the line rate for MTs. Hopefully these experienced MTs who make more money doing straight transcription rather than the pay cut that comes with VR will find a better company to work for. For those like you who apparently never made that much doing straight transcription & enjoy VR, then more power to you, but why freak out on those who don't want the pay cut? Let them find a company who isn't trying to screw over the MTs by cutting their line rate for the same amount of work.
Which companies aren't that greedy? nm
x
Now that the greedy corporations who offshore
our work have driven down our wages, not to mention risking patient safety, it really makes me rethink/regret my career choice. This used to be a great job.
It's not that they are greedy, they are bidding on jobs to low
The one company I worked for literally bid 7 and 11 cpl for a VR account and were only paying the MTs 4 and 8. That is the real problem. These docs/hospitals want rock bottom rates and there are so many MTSOs out there competing for these accounts that they are bidding us all into the poor house. JM2
No, it IS that they're greedy! These people want
ALL the accounts! At all costs! They think by 'dominating' the industry by taking as many accounts as they can get, that it makes them a better company. But how do they make a profit with those lowball bids? Off the backs of the MT.

Greedy, greedy, greedy, GREEDY!
All the big (which means GREEDY!) MTSOs
there was some way to blow the whistle on these guys and either get the rules for the MTSO industry changed, or else have these oinkers put out of business entirely.
Only problem is, the big greedy fish are
or undercutting them so badly they can't compete. And when you finally wipe out all the competition, what do you have?

A MONOPOLY.
Transcend... any comments, good, bad or ugly? TIA...nm

Is Transcend a good company to work for? nm
nm
A bit strong. Transcend is good depending
I have worked with them in the past and returned 3 months ago. I am on a really really difficult ESL account, and I am having a learning curve to get to my full-time lines. But, the team lead and my regional manager have been a safety net for me by being very supportive and always addressing my concerns. I must say my account is not for the faint of heart, but the Beyond TXT is fine for me and I am getting there. The major reason why I am sticking out the learning process is because of my supervisor is so supportive and flexible with me taking longer to get my lines. I just about make my bills, and did not make the sign on bonus which is a negative. However, I will stick it out b/c I know that I can do it and make good money here. If you can do ESL and get a good supportive supervisor I would suggest you give it a serious consideration. I do believe there is money to be made at this company and there are a lot of people who have been there many many years. Good luck to you.
Looking for work, is Transcend a good choice
to apply to?
Look what greedy, inept management and lack of
Greed is NOT good.
Transcend offshores, so I have a pretty good idea...
where the 40-50 reports are disappearing during *your* night (*their* day shift).

DSG supposedly doesn't offshore, so darned if I know why we keep running out of work, though I'm guessing just plain old overhiring; no doubt of displaced MTs from other offshoring companies, so it affects everybody, regardless of whether the MTSO actually offshores or not.
If that is not what she meant, and she was just talking about greedy business people, then...
why did she feel the need to say that the business person was Arabian? If she was just talking about greedy business people, then why would his nationality matter?

See my point?
I hope Debbie "outs" the entire greedy -nm
)
Transcend sends all the good work to India and leaves all the
garbage for the MTs in the States so they can keep the indian slime working. n donkeys are that do the work. Transcend is not a good place to work
What's greedy about it? Have always received xmas gifts/bonus as employee
x
Transcend bought MDI, so if Transcend sends work offshore, so does MDI. nm
nm
We heard Transcend is buying Keystrokes next. I'm not working for Transcend. No Way !
nm
If MDI-FL is owned by Transcend and Transcend admittingly offshores, sm
then doesn't that make MDI a company that offshores? That's like saying that one branch of a company offshores but another does not, so they are excluded from the offshore label. If MDI-FL is part of Transcend and Transcend offshores, that means that they do.
RE: If MDI-FL is owned by Transcend and Transcend admittingly offshores, sm
Your hypothesis is incorrect. MDI is a wholly independent subsidary of Transcend, therefore, they were not a part of the experiment to offshore to evaluate cost/benefit ratio that Transcend only tried for 90 days (I believe the evaluation process is not still ongoing).
The best co. ever! Good work, good people, good pay, good bennies.
x
It is not Transcend. Transcend has not had control of
the accounts long enough to make any changes to anything. Maybe your account just slowed down like a lot of others did over the last few weeks. Everything will run status quo for a few months before any major changes are implemented. And give Transcend a chance. It is a good place to work and you will finally have some benefits that you will enjoy.
Yes there is! Good pay and good bonuses and good benefits.

Personally, DSG is a good fit for me. Pay is good and on time, sound quality depends on the account
and I like the platform. There is not much weekend work, although sometimes is available.  I get along well with the management, no major complaints.  There is pay incentive once you get over a certain number of lines in a pay period.  I work as an IC, so can't help with benefits, insurance questions, etc.
I'm with them. Good work environment, easy accounts and I'm making really good money. nm

Fairly flexible but they do like a schedule. Insurance is good. Benefits are good in my opinion.

For the past week, work has been a little slower but I think that is common in every company..some days busy and other not.

Does anyone recommend a pretty good company that is good to work for, pay always on time and plenty
of work.  I know that is asking a lot, but just curious?
Strictly IC, good company, hard accounts, good platform.
Good pay, always on time, no direct deposit though.
Webmedx hires some ICs. Good company. So sorry for your loss. Good luck!
x
TransTech for many reasons, good pay, stable company, good benefits
and flexible.
I have looked around the last 6 months and have found nothing better. Have turned down numerous jobs, and have finally decided to stay put. The better insurance plans were announced and even moreso than ever, I am staying put, and my paycheck is happy about that because it is getting better every day. Good luck to you.
TransTech is a good company. Debbie is the owner and a good one at that! nm
n
Good company, great people, good benefits.
Affordable insurance. Good luck!
