You may want to check the company board and do a search
I think you can do better - and nationals can be great to work for, don't know who hires newbies, though. Good Luck!

I have had similar experiences with a company
doing that. Its the purpose of the production emails - to shame you into boosting your production to keep up with the others - whether the others are actually real or not has always been a matter of speculation to me....But you are feeling exactly what the sender wants you to feel! Terrible tactics to me, but works for some.
Same question asked halfway down the page, check it out NM

Something similar happened on the CBS star trek board once recently.
Except it was on purpose. People on there are kind of pseudointellectual types and one funny person tried to see how many hits this thread would get: it was
"Do not read this thread."
Do you know that thread got more hits than any, and they kept it for months, it still got hits. OF course nothing said anything once you opened it. It was just to see who would open it. I have to admit I did. LOL.

E-bay.  Some companies will provide them for free or a small rental fee.
I asked on main board, don't know why I didn't
think to ask you all!  We are still all a team, right? I am going to return to transcribing, I was an MT for 20 years and QA for 10.  I figured out financially that I would have to transcribe 1500 lines per shift to make out OK.  Of course, if I got paid 12 and 13 cpl like the old days, the requirement would be less! But I'm figuring a 9 cpl start. I would have to do 1500 to keep afloat until I get moving up or transcribing faster.  Anyway, is 1500 lines of work easy to get on a steady basis around the average MTSO anymore?  I used to work 2 jobs for years long ago, and found it was easier that way. When one ran low, I jumped on other one, and always had work. That's my biggest fear, quitting my hourly job, going back to MTing, and then finding no work. I don't know if 1500 lines per shift is out of the ballpark to expect these days? I used to type a lot more than that, but I'm a bit more fidgety these days! What do you think? Sound possible as far as the MTSO's side? Or is my goal too high? I just don't want to end up homeless trying to break away from this company.
And its gonna kill you to post on the Company board rather than the main board?

Asked on the drug board...ever heard of a T-Teck Pack for pneumonia? Cant find any info on it. Help!

When the company asked me to start making long distance phone calls,
they offered to pay my long distance for the charges. I then got a cheap long distance plan to make the charges for them more reasonable.

You need to JUST SAY NO to making long distance calls for them. If they will pay for it then do it, otherwise no way.
You put them on the company board, not the main board. They are still there.

You should check the tax information board--sm
accessible on the gab board site near the top. From my experience as an IC, if this is your first year doing any IC work, I do not believe that you need to do the estimated tax thing, but you still must report any income over, I believe, $400 for the first year on your income tax returns. You should do the estimated tax filings beginning with your second year, though. This would be for your IC job only. Check the tax board though, as there is usually some pretty good info on their.

You might check with your phone company......... sm
I live out in the sticks, so cable is not an option for me and I use DSL. My phone company offers a package that includes phone service, DSL and DishTV for a single price. I'm not sure what the price is, but I would think it would be comparable to or maybe even less than the $101 you are paying now.

I know what you mean about having to trim the fat. I've trimmed so far now that I don't know where I can cut any more. I don't have a cell phone. Sons have prepaid cell phones that they pay for themselves. I don't eat out more than once a month and haven't seen the inside of a movie theater in years (no real big loss for me). I skimp like crazy on groceries but that is really hard with 2 teenage boys in the house.

Anyway, I digress. Check out your phone company and see what kind of package they might offer. Ya nevah know!
Check with your local phone company....sm

More and more phone companies are offering fast access DSL which works through your phone line.  Satellite is very expensive and often has problems when there are storms.  I had cable which also goes down practically every time it rains.  I just got Bell South Xtreme DSL.  I can't believe how fast it is.  AND I got a wireless network router so if I have 1 computer or 20... no extra charge.  All this for about $50.00 a month.

Yep, he just got a huge check from the drug company or
:)
Inform the insurance company that they should check into it.
