I called HR and I did not know you had to follow up with a written complaint. Is there an email

address for written complaints at MQ. The HR person sounded all disgusted and I am sure she has been getting tons of calls.

FOLLOW UP with either an email or phone call.
It's not being pushy or desperate. It's showing the company that you definitely are interested and motivated. MTSOs want go-getters who will get 'er done, not people who sit back waiting and waiting. You need to follow up and make sure your email didn't hit their spam filters or accidentally get deleted.
We got the same email a couple of days ago -- DH called Chase and reported it and they said that it
was a huge problem for them right now as these people obviously have no affiliation with Chase.
Followup (or follow-up) for noun/adj. Follow up for verb. nm

The so-called "reality show" is the lowest form of so-called entertainment in recent years
I hate them. They've ruined TV.
This is my exact complaint

The looking up of addresses is ridiculous. I don't care HOW fast you type or HOW many macros and shortcuts you have, nothing will prepare you for that! The platform is user friendly where I work also. Most of the time with this company, I'm making less than $10 an hour because of this... and this job is my overtime job!

It's a small MTS and I really don't want to work for a national (from all that I hear on this board), so what does one do? How does one find the smaller companies to work for?

You are correct. If you have a complaint about something sm
they will tell you to go find another job. Communication with them is the pits.
Ridiculous complaint?

Busy, you should really try to be a little kinder.....or read her complaint a little more closely.  I think her complaint was not about CONSTRUCTIVE feedback.  If she gets hard copies she can't read, what good are they?  Just how ridiculous this QA thing can get; one of the editors in a company I worked for corrected my "40-year-old black female" to 40-year-old Black female."  No problem, if that's what they want, that's what they get.  I corrected my Expander to "Black."  Editor #2 comes along and corrects me saying "black or white" is never capitalized.  I fired back a very disgruntled e-mail and said editor #1 had corrected me and that I KNEW black was never capitalized but if they wanted it capitalized, fine with me but somebody needed to get their sh*t together and figure out what they wanted from me.  At least with that company, editor #2 had some sense, she sent back a very nice e-mail saying that to appease editor #1 to go ahead and capitalize it until I was off QA and then do it whichever way I wanted and in the meantime she would not count me off for it.  At least editor #2 had some sense but ridiculous?  YES, indeed.

Busy, if you're working for both MQ and Spheris, I assume your experience is about the same as mine.  I worked for MQ and for Spheris when they were Edix.  Once I was off full edit (in a very short time), I never heard anything from either company QA again so I assume they were happy and I went right ahead doing my best.

Then it's already gone, why post a complaint?
I'm perplexed by this.
biggest complaint
would anyone else say that the biggest complaint as a Transcriptionist would be leg cramps and back pain?  and what suggestions would you give to help?
I ain't never heard this complaint before.

Complaint? What about a lawyer?
But why do you need a sample of a complaint? Write a letter explaining the details and mail it to the administrators of the hospital and copy it to the same people at the headquarter address (CEO). Ask for a response and mail it certified with a receipt requested.
Legitimate complaint
I think you are cheating yourself by not keeping a tally of the lost lines .. open a word document on your second screen and copy and paste these lines each time .. takes a few seconds and you need to be paid for what you are being asked to do .. otherwise, request a reprieve from this guy. Venting is one thing and it helps a little but cold hard cash actually speaks back to you!
Definitely not...how do you know if it's a valid complaint?...(SM)
This happens very often with abuse claims. A case is started, the claim is false, someone's reputation is wrecked, and it costs them a fortune in legal fees to restore it. If you are worried she is not getting help or advice, the only discrete way to find out is fake a spontaneous meeting and get into conversation with him/her and go from there. You could never let it be known that you read her/his records...records that she thinks are confidential. (Boy, are a lot of people in for a shock.)
My only complaint with mine is that...
my 2-year-old located the playboy channel (that I did not even know existed) in my car. Not such a big deal now, but I wish there were a way to disable it because someday, he won't be two anymore. Also, it taught him to scream the F word over and over and over again.
How to file a complaint for services....please sm
I'm not sure if this is the correct board. I was wondering if anyone knows of a site that I can get a sample on a complaint that I would like to file to the administrator of a hospital. My mom has non-Hodgkin lymphoma and during her last 3 visits at the same hospital, they gave her the wrong medication. This is the medication that she has a severe reaction to. She has hallucinations, toxicity, etc. to this medication. She is in a different state and I would like to file a complaint to the administrator to prevent this from happening again, as she is in and out of the hospital. Thanks for the help.
She worked all those years with no complaint.

You want us to have "O" work? They would track that complaint in a heartbeat.

communication and reality.

Talk about your drugs or your dinners.  Pass over MQ.  We won't mind a bit.  Our lives are rough enough already without biting comments.

We are trying to dig out of the quagmire MQ/Philips has put us into.  Like I've said, MTing is no longer a profession or can be considered a "real job".  At best it is pickup work or sideline extra non-necessary money because one certainly can't depend on the money.

Work is not saved for certain MT's. I hear same complaint

Glad you filed a complaint and that you're okay.

how to file a health insurance complaint - any hints?
Background - I had to have radiation treatment for colon cancer and for the most part charged everything on my VISA.  I have all the VISA receipts.  Two office visits I wrote separate copay checks, which have cleared my bank.  The billing company for the oncologist says I still owe $20 copayment which I absolutely positively refuse to pay.  I have faxed to them a copy of all the VISA receipts and have spoken to the billing office and they have receipt of the two checks so they have receipts of all my visits/copays.  My insurance company says I only owe a single copay per visit so if the billing company says they have received the copayments then I have fulfilled my contract.  So who do I complain to?  It's bad enough to have to go through radiation, but now I'm getting burned again (LOL - punny punny, gotta laugh) because of their inadequate billing system.  Grrrrr.  I am so incredibly mad I feel like, go ahead, turn me over to a collection agency and MAKE MY DAY!!!!!  Anyone else go through this rigamarole/nightmare and who did you complain to?  I want people's bottoms to get waxed on this - I have spent literally hours on the phone trying to clear it up, not to mention the cost of mailing/faxing/etc.  Thanks in advance.
Filed complaint with Better Business Bureau against MTSO
for nonpayment after 90 days. Requested payment multiple times to no avail. Nothing but empty promises. Has anyone ever been successful getting paid after going through the BBB?

I don't understand. I didn't get email from MT Stars, I got email from offshore people
is what I'm talking about. I'm not a liar and take offense to your insinuation.
Go ahead and file a formal complaint. Then it is on record this dog is a hazard and if it happens

They can send an email that goes to all MTs in one shot. I think she just means a courtesy email
would be nice. MQ is not getting any easier. My account has been picked over thoroughly when it went on DQS by ASR and I get all the remains because they only have a core group doing ASR which I think is wrong because you get all the bad dictators and it would be nice to be acknowledged that at least you know the person you can discuss problems with as they crop up. This is a big one and we have no manager anymore and no one to discuss this with at all in my office so you just sit here very day doing this work and no way to vent to someone that could offer some suggestions on this and other issues that come up to help relieve some of the stress of working this way.
Just send an email to the email link inside the post.

Will filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and District Attorney do me any good if a sm
I live in a different state than her.  Also the amount is less than $100.  Thanks.
Again, because you entered your email address, you CAN receive email from anyone, but THEY

e-mail address because it is not revealed when they send mail because we have spam protection in place.  The only way they would know what your email address is, is if you reply to the email they send you.  If you don't want to receive any email from anyone, simply do not enter your email address in the Email field.

I intended to email it- already email the mods to remove

Not through the MTStars email server. Your email address is NOT
visible to anyone.  The only way your employer would know it is you is 1) if you respond when someone emails you, or 2) they recognize the way you write.
It's time we all called NJ. I called

They can't provide anything in writing.

Nobody knows anything - keep telling you to call your supervisor.

If it's written
everyday, it's probably written by you.  It's really amazing how some people on this board are so __________.  I put a blank because I really don't know what to call it.  Why is a reply a 'comeback'?  So childish.  If you want to argue with someone, get off the computer and go find your husband.  I don't lead that type of lifestyle.  I hope you have a good evening.
here are some I had written down

Doctor was talking to a group in the background and said, in a thick Alabama accent, "y'all are leaning on me hard." This translated into "innominate Howard."

OMG!! I could have written this!
I've even returned to school and am taking Psych too!

I left the MT profession awhile back and am working among people again, and I'm with you. People in general are rude, insensitive and just plain mean. If they sense that you're not the type of person to pick on people, to fight back with them when they give you a hassle just for the sake of being a jerk, or if you're just plain old not interested in the high schoolesque gossiping, backstabbing and meanness, they see you as weak and come at you even more.

I was ready to quit today and missed being at home by myself with no one to mess with me just for the sake of their own amusement.

Geez, isn't it awful? And yes, that is why I started working at home in the first place. In the early 1990's I worked in-house and had a boss who was a mean, arrogant, control freak bully whose reason for living was to make my life hell for no apparent reason.

You're a nice person, I can tell, but I have no clue why people see people like us as targets for their wrath.

Sick.
as written
You've been told 3 times to do it their way. If you cannot follow their wishes, then you do need to get out. I think you're lucky that they told you 3 times - most places would have given you the boot the one time you questioned what the doctor wanted.
why it is written this way
HIPAA is U.S. and we have no authority in other countries.  I was reading about advice to docs who choose to offshore...they are told to do the business-associate agreement (between a covered and noncovered entity) expressing that financial responsibility will fall on the offshore agent(cy) for any violations, but this article also goes on to say that basically, there isn't much one can do to get the money or do anything about any of those violations.  Pretty much, the way i read this is that the responsibility is going to fall to the US-based organization because that is who HIPAA and/or the JCAHO actually have authority over.
Wow, I could have written that. nm

I could have written this
My MIL is the exact way you described in your message.  She finally did end up in the hospital in the spring with a pyelonephritis, played the poor-pitiful-me routine for a while...ugh! She's diabetic, but eats sweets like crazy (though tries to deny it), will NOT exercise, and smokes like a chimney.  I have no sympathy for someone like that whatsoever...We have distanced ourselves from her destructive behavior.  It's not worth it when we know she's not listening to us or her doctor!
This could have been written by me...
It sounds exactly like my experiences since transcribing at home. The best spaces for me were in closets. It's perfect.
1. Eveything is easily within reach.
2. You can close it up when you are not working.
3. No distractions and I want to get in there and get it done and get out.
4. Doesn't take up a other needed space.

I could have written this! .. SM
It sounds like my company, and I can just about guess which one you're with.  My account, also, must have literally hundreds of dictators, most are great... but these last 2 days all ESL crap.  The Leads (MTs who assign the work) have to get their lines in, too, and no doubt they're not keeping the ESLs for themselves.  I got p - - - d off plenty, too, the same way you did... but needed to make lines before the end of the weekend, but wasn't goint to do it pulling my hair out.  I did the same, typed a few, went to bed.
I couldn't have written it better myself...
Those are exactly my thoughts. Didn't work for Spheris or Medquist, but did work for Heartland before MDI. I am so happy I came to MDI. I am sure they are not perfect, but I think they are better than a lot out there.
