Actually you are proving that YOU have the closed mind here - sm

You know absolutely nothing about me. I hate Survivor and so-called reality TV - nothing more than the dumbing down of America, as far as I'm concerned.

Actually I don't know much about Mr Icke; granted he may be a deep thinker, in some ways. However, I think he is slightly off-kilter for that single book / theory about the reptilians. Can we judge his credibility regarding other ideas because of that book? Yes? Unless he's just spouting theories to make some $$ off the gullible public?? Possible, no?

I'm actually quite a fan of conspiracy theorists and those who think outside the box (esp coverups, religion, war, etc, in these horrific days of Bush-Cheney domination).

Your mind is closed.

I have no desire to talk to the likes of you.

And only those with completely closed minds would
Years ago, it might have seemed ridiculous and been dismissed as a conspiracy theory that there were terrorists living amongst us right here in the USA, learning how to fly our planes, and being groomed for YEARS to attack and kill us on 9/11. Based on that alone, I would not for one second put it past a crazed bunch to groom someone from birth to serve their purpose.

Things that make you go hmmmm....
No one is trying to change your closed minds...
we are discussing, just like you are. O, as you call him, is the candidate of change...right down the slippery slope further into socialism. That is change I DON'T believe in. No amount of spin on his part is going to change that fact.
Good...that hellhole should be closed down

Sure thing....case closed. JM has character....
Obama does not.

Just because someone does not come on after your final barb, doesn't mean I think you're right.

You are largely non-debatable anyway, and one-note choir.

Berg Lawsuit Thrown Out - Case Closed
Judge rejects Montco lawyer's bid to have Obama removed from ballot

By MICHAEL HINKELMAN
Philadelphia Daily News

hinkelm@phillynews.com 215-854-2656
A federal judge in Philadelphia last night threw out a complaint by a Montgomery County lawyer who claimed that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was not qualified to be president and that his name should be removed from the Nov. 4 ballot.

Philip J. Berg alleged in a complaint filed in federal district court on Aug. 21 against Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission, that Obama was born in Mombasa, Kenya.

Berg claimed that the Democratic presidential standardbearer is not even an American citizen but a citizen of Indonesia and therefore ineligible to be president.

He alleged that if Obama was permitted to run for president and subsequently found to be ineligible, he and other voters would be disenfranchised.

U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick had denied Berg's request for a temporary restraining order on Aug. 22 but had not ruled on the merits of the suit until yesterday.

Obama and the Democratic National Committee had asked Surrick to dismiss Berg's complaint in a court filing on Sept. 24.

They said that Berg's claims were "ridiculous" and "patently false," that Berg had "no standing" to challenge the qualifications of a candidate for president because he had not shown the requisite harm to himself.

Surrick agreed.

In a 34-page memorandum and opinion, the judge said Berg's allegations of harm were "too vague and too attenuated" to confer standing on him or any other voters.

Surrick ruled that Berg's attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were "frivolous and not worthy of discussion."

The judge also said the harm Berg alleged did "not constitute an injury in fact" and Berg's arguments to the contrary "ventured into the unreasonable."

For example, Berg had claimed that Obama's nomination deprived citizens of voting for Sen. Hillary Clinton in November. (Berg backed Clinton in the primaries.)

Berg could not be reached for comment last night.

Obama was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961, and the campaign posted a document issued by Hawaii on its Web site, fight thesmears.com, confirming his birth there.

Berg said in court papers that the image was a forgery.

The nonpartisan Web site FactCheck.org examined the original document and said it was legitimate.

Further, a birth announcement in the Aug. 13, 1961, Honolulu Advertiser listed Obama's birth there on Aug. 4.

With the President meeting with the Republicans in closed door talks to come to agreements,.....sm
find middle ground, listen to their concerns, and try to modify where needed? Condemn and Condemn, has a Republican come forward with an alternative package? George was handing out money o the banking pirates before he left office, remember?

Built into this plan, which is very complex, are social programs for schools, which are going down fast, health aid, food stamps for those who have lost their jobs and need to eat while looking for new jobs that Obama is tring to create, funds to build companies to work with alternative energy and green solutions to get us less dependent on foreign oil and stop poisoning our earth.....

There is no quick fix!!! Just like the Great Depression, it is going to take time to reap all the benefits from this package, but they are meant to be real, lasting jobs and benefits to our society, not a quick boo-boo bandaide, which is all that Bush could provide with his quickie tax rebates!!!! Take off the jaundiced glasses and blinders, forget party lines and affiliations, and just go to MSN or CNN and read the copious outlines there.
Thanks for proving me right. Again. nm

Thank you for proving my point.

I hold up THREE fingers.  The rest of the world sees THREE, but you?  You only see ONE, and you take the one YOU see, completely ignoring the other two that EVERYONE ELSE SEES, and twist it and manipulate it and turn it into something ugly that doesn't even come close to the TRUTH that EVERYONE ELSE CAN SEE.

Thank you for proving my point.
My grandma used to say, well you are mad, you are going to stay mad, you are enjoying being mad, have decided to be mad and there is no reason to talk you out of it.  But then, I already knew that, too.
Thank you for once again proving the truth of what I said about you.
Having said that, I didn't realize that you owned this board.  And having said THAT, I leave you with this thought.  A litany of complaints is not a solution.  Your remarks are divisive and wrong.  Your world view outlook is narrow and frighteningly sad and dark.  THOSE are observations, not accusations.
You just keep proving my point.
I suppose I should thank you, but frankly I don't feel like it.  I have no plans to visit the conservative board.  I may go to the libertarian board though. I am anything but a sweetie.  And I would certainly never allow you to call me that face to face.  But then, that's how you operate, isn't it.  One of those people who gets on a chat board and vents their spleen, too cowardly in real life to say these things face to face to anyone.
Thank you for once again proving my point.
You really just can't help it, can you?
Once again....and thanks for proving my point

You are an obvious BO supporter and you see the negative things you want to see out of McCain.  McCain supporters, however, don't see that.  We see negative things in Obama that his supporters refuse to see and believe.  The people who like Palin think she will do just fine during the VP debate.  It is all a matter of opinion.  We all have the same information and yet we have picked two very different people to vote for.   I think McCain will do fine in the next debates.  I personally think that this election will be a close one all the way to the end.  JMO though.

Have a good one!

Thank you for proving the point

of how this country is pushing God away. I will pray for you!

Thanks for proving my point.
Wallowing in self pity is a real downer. However, if you keep it up long enough, you are bound to insure O's re-election in 2012, so keep up the good work. Trash talk is what lost this last election and history does have a way of repeating itself.
Thanks for proving my point.
These kinds of negative namecalling posts are exactly the point I was trying to make.  Give the man an opportunity to prove or disprove his competency, and then, and only then, you earn the right to question and criticize.
Thanks for proving my point . . .

First of all, I didn't call YOU un-American, unless the shoe fits, and certainly it had nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing with me.  I could care less.  It had to do with those people that won't even consider hearing an intelligent explanation about the plan for this country, and those that openly voice their wish for failure of this adminstration.  Now, THAT is un-American.

This is proving to be a very leaky

administration.  I predict that for the next 3-3/4 years, whenever a bit of misdirection is needed a memo or report will be leaked or given to the press.  Or some prior administration misdeed discovered and fresh outrage manufactured.

We had the DHS document casting suspision on 'radical conservatives.'   Now we have the torture memo going back to heap more blame on the Bush administration for policies which Pelosi apparently signed off on.  I doubt, though, that the rest of the congressional briefing minutes will ever be 'leaked' which show that she and other democrats were quite aware of the interrogation techniques being employed.

Meanwhile, activities we should legitimately be angry over are going on, which we are not supposed to notice.  Hey!  No!  Look over here!  Crazy conservatives!  Torture!

Let me just go on the record as saying that no amount of money would induce me to volunteer to be tortured (you know, beaten cut, burned - severe pain or harm).  But cut me a check (certified only, please) with a number followed by a whole lot of zeros and I would be waterboarded (strictly in the interest of science).  Our special forces are trained to withstand this and other 'harsh' interrigation techniques.  I believe Demi Moore actually was waterboarded for the movie GI Jane. It's scary and unpleasant but way different from having your fingernails pulled out or a field generator and alligator clips used.  Or listening to an Obama lecture.  Now THAT's torture!

Thanks for proving my point....(sm)

Tell me, I'm assuming that you also think that having sex out of wedlock is also a "bad behavior."  So, do you teach your kids to yell names at people like that?  How about people who smoke cigarettes?  What label to do you put on them?

Thank you for proving my point...
My work here is done.
Thank you all for so eloquently proving my point

in showing that you all have no idea what Christianity is all about.  In one breath you are praising Christ and all his attributes, but in the next breath you reject Him.  You embrace all the good, loving, warm fuzzy attributes of Christ, but you neglect to see what his sole purpose in coming to Earth was and that was die to atone for our sins and the evil wrought in this world.  Christ cannot look upon sin, and we are all sinners every one of us, and that's why he had to die.  He took the spiritual death we should have had to face ourselves.  That's not warm and fuzzy, but it's certainly love above all comprehension.   All He asks is that we accept His atonement and turn from our wicked ways.  It doesn't make us perfect sinless people, but it changes our heart and how we look at the world.

Personally, I don't agree with everything Pat Robertson says because Pat Robertson is not God.  He's a man,  but there is a certainly a judgemental side of God.  I hope many of you can see that before you face him as your judge once you leave this Earth.  Then it will be too late to change your mind.  I hope you won't let people like Pat Robertson or even someone like me keep you from truly knowing the love of Jesus Christ.

Now that I've totally violated board rules by evangelizing on the politics board I will leave.

Not nearly as *good* as you proving what a fool you are

by attributing something to me that I never said.

I made a mistake.  You thrive on attention.  I said I was going to ignore you.  From now on, I will give you the attention you truly deserve:  NONE.

Find someone else to judge, despise and attack and/or get some professional help.  I won't feed your anger and hatred any more.

You need a Happy Meal.

Have a lovely evening, dear.  Buh-bye.

LOL, thanks for proving my point, as posted below. sm
You don't offend me.  You disturb me.  Two different entities.
You said you enjoyed proving people wrong...
then provide your source. And provide some more current statistics. That is all I asked for. A simple request. If you can't, you can't. No biggie.
See? You're proving the very point made about
right wing rage. Sure hope you and your fanatic friends don't all own guns......
And the word is hypocrisy, thanks for proving my point!
Making a generalized statement about the tremendous crowds that Obama draws being moochers is really about the most pathetic, ridiculous thing I have ever heard.  You make me laugh!!
Obama is already proving to be a liar and stealer
nm
Thanks so much for proving my point about the angry, hate-filled left. sm
You did a perfect job of it.  You are incapable of thought other than that driven by hate. Your debates are screeds and your voice is strident and laced with the same adjectives...the word liar comes to mind. Which, of course, you are.
What mind?
x
Never mind
I thought you were responding to my comments. Now I understand your comment as you were responding to PKs remarks on this board. Sorry...
Never mind. You obviously don't get it.

How can you be so certain this country isn't going to be blown to smithereens?  If we're not already in the beginning of WW III, then we're definitely heading for it, and Bush is encouraging it with his love of war.

I'd really appreciate an answer to this, and I would respectfully request that you answer in the format the question was asked:  Without any personal attacks directed at me for asking the question, sticking to the issues and no insults.

Please tell me why you think we're safe under Bush and are not on the brink of being blown to smithereens.  I welcome respectful, polite debate and sincerely hope you respond.

This is not what I had in mind, exactly. NI

maybe in your own mind you have but i'd rather

May we just keep in mind that these....
corporations you demonize employ most of the people in this country? And can we keep in mind that huge corporate taxes are generally a big factor in companies moving offshore, closing facilities, downsizing, etc. Corporate tax bills are one the largest things corporations have to pay...and yes, they pay bills just like anyone else...for labor, for benefits, for supplies and materials and on and on.

You speak as if corporations were made up only of executives and they are the only ones who reap benefits...that is just not true.

We do need to keep this real.
no, but i wonder how your mind got so
twisted on the facts. Democrats have a terrible history of spending more money; their theory is always to throw money at a problem (that's OUR money)...and if you TRUST that the bad guys will EVER think we are now good people, you are totally delusional!! AND, there's a big difference between slaughtering of innocent babies and death row immates my friend. Your argument is weird, but to ever disregard taking of innocent life is beyond me. you have too many topics to discuss them all -- but marry your horse huh? like i said, a very twisted state of mind. maybe the right medication or therapy will help you unravel your messed-up thoughts. and all your cheerleaders sure need help as well.
In whose mind, exactly?

Keep in mind
I said both MSNBC and Fox were biased.  Then read their posts.
keep in mind
that Clinton passed the Patriot Act. At any rate--I think that we become more tha more and more susceptible to government strong arm every year, and I am not just saying under Democratic control. I personally have a problem with a state controlled medical system and there are many countries with worse health care than ours who offer it. If we take out the free enterprise, the money has to come from somewhere. Either we pay for it with higher taxes or subpar health care or lesser equipment or less research, but one way or another, the bill has to be paid. I grew up near a Naval base and my parents have always been employed by the federal government in one way or another--I think that my father currently has BlueCross/BlueShield insurance, so I am not really sure what plan you speak of, but you actually might know more about this than I do. I do know that you certainly do NOT want TriCare. My fear is that Obama will shuttle us down a path we are already heading at an accelerated pace. I understand that many people disagree with me. I can live with that.
If you don't mind my asking s/m

where in Oklahoma are you from?  We have to be next door neighbors.  I was raised halfway between Bentonville and Rogers.  Went to school in Rogers, but the farm I grew up on has now been annexed into Bentonville and is a huge subdivision now.  Hate going to that area because I'm totally lost.  Husband always tells me "you grew up here, you ought to know."  Well, when I left there in the early 60's the population was around 5,000.  I don't even know what it is now.  B'ville, Rogers, Lowell, Springdale and Fayetteville is all just about one big metropolis now, except for signs you can't tell when you leave one and enter the other.  One thing is good, this area probably won't suffer as much in a depression as other places.

As for Wal-Mart, I think in the 70s, I was tickled spitless when I saw the sign in Katy, Texas saying Wal-Mart was coming.  I shopped there then.  Remember Sam's motto was "Buy American?"  Now it's "Bring it Home To America."  Yup, bring it on home from China or Japan or Tiawan or whereever.

Another thing about Sam Walton......he lived in the same home until the day he died, drove an older pickup truck and was just "one of the good ole boys" who made good in Bentonville, Arkansas.  Now there's a success story for ya.

Oh yeah, we go to W. Siloam Springs, Ok to the Cherokee Casino, ever go there?

We all know what is on your mind.nm
x
His mind.

Keep in mind that I am not saying...
that I am against helping victims of natural disasters. I only think that at some point, they need to be pushed out of the FEMA or MEMA nest to take care of themselves and find their own homes. I think that one year is long enough. These people have had 3+ years. At some point are they not responsible for helping themselves? The still get Welfare--use that to find a house to rent on section 8 or something. Do they get to double dip forever?
I don't mind but....
How much is enough. 40, 50, 60%?. Should I give 80% of my paycheck to taxes (because welfare is not the only thing taxes go to). Pride is one thing, but should I have to put my bills on credit, and then instead of owing $160 for electricity, I'll now owe $200 when you add in the interest charges. Then because they've raised my taxes (but not pay), I can't pay off the credit card, so now I have to put next months utilities on my credit card. Now my credit card has been charged $320, etc, etc. Each month it will pile up all because the money I would be for my utilities is going to support all the democrat programs and welfare system for people who can work but wont. When is enough. Heck should I be taxed at 100% and not even be able to afford to live anymore and get forced into the street. Maybe that would be good because maybe then I'd quality for welfare.
Also keep in mind ................ sm
that a hefty population of MTs are of an older generation who did not grow up in the technilogical revolution, myself included, and it is those MTs who depend on transcription for their livelihoods. I understand the need to keep up with the changes in the industry, but at the same time it's just so darn hard to take a hit in the pocketbook in order to do so.
What I think you have to keep in mind...(sm)

is the mind set of the people in the middle east.  We are basing this idea that it will only anger them on what our own reaction would be, not theirs.  I don't claim to know what they think or how they think, but it's my impression that instead of them being horrified by the pics, they may actually respect us for putting them out there.  One thing is for certain.  When it comes to people in the middle east, they are big proponents of consequences.  I think they would look at it as the US owning up to what was done and taking responsibility for it.  That would be a big change for the US in their eyes (and rightly so).  They would see it as an embarrassment for us, thus being the consequence we pay for having done it.  They would also see it as one step closer to punishing the last admin (which they really hate).

As a side note, on Rachel Maddow last night it was noted that Al-Q had put out a plea for financial help.  In other words, they're running out of money.  That may be the only good thing that comes out of this recession.

I seriously doubt that is who she had in mind. ...
