You kept saying affordable health care. Tax refunds for premiums paid is more affordable. You could have had that and had that right now if the Dems would have compromised. They did not. I have no problem with SCHIP as it was. It would still be rocking along fine had the Dems not killed it with their "my way or the highway" attitude. Okay..you don't mind if your taxes go up to give middle class families a break...even if it includes adding more illegals to the program. I do mind if my taxes go to that. You don't mind that people who are paying premiums now and managing to do so will get off private insurance and on a program if that bill had passed. I have a problem with that. Why not give them the tax refund that Bush wanted to for paying those premiums instead of putting them on a program? You still get what you say you want...insured kids. What this all seems to boil down to is that you, and I guess other middle class families who are paying insurance premiums now but think they are too high think the government should pay them for you. I just don't happen to think that is the answer.

Years ago, it might have seemed ridiculous and been dismissed as a conspiracy theory that there were terrorists living amongst us right here in the USA, learning how to fly our planes, and being groomed for YEARS to attack and kill us on 9/11. Based on that alone, I would not for one second put it past a crazed bunch to groom someone from birth to serve their purpose.

Actually I don't know much about Mr Icke; granted he may be a deep thinker, in some ways. However, I think he is slightly off-kilter for that single book / theory about the reptilians. Can we judge his credibility regarding other ideas because of that book? Yes? Unless he's just spouting theories to make some $$ off the gullible public?? Possible, no?

Judge rejects Montco lawyer's bid to have Obama removed from ballot

A federal judge in Philadelphia last night threw out a complaint by a Montgomery County lawyer who claimed that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was not qualified to be president and that his name should be removed from the Nov. 4 ballot.
Philip J. Berg alleged in a complaint filed in federal district court on Aug. 21 against Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission, that Obama was born in Mombasa, Kenya.
Berg claimed that the Democratic presidential standardbearer is not even an American citizen but a citizen of Indonesia and therefore ineligible to be president.
He alleged that if Obama was permitted to run for president and subsequently found to be ineligible, he and other voters would be disenfranchised.
U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick had denied Berg's request for a temporary restraining order on Aug. 22 but had not ruled on the merits of the suit until yesterday.
Obama and the Democratic National Committee had asked Surrick to dismiss Berg's complaint in a court filing on Sept. 24.
They said that Berg's claims were "ridiculous" and "patently false," that Berg had "no standing" to challenge the qualifications of a candidate for president because he had not shown the requisite harm to himself.
Surrick agreed.
In a 34-page memorandum and opinion, the judge said Berg's allegations of harm were "too vague and too attenuated" to confer standing on him or any other voters.
Surrick ruled that Berg's attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were "frivolous and not worthy of discussion."
The judge also said the harm Berg alleged did "not constitute an injury in fact" and Berg's arguments to the contrary "ventured into the unreasonable."
For example, Berg had claimed that Obama's nomination deprived citizens of voting for Sen. Hillary Clinton in November. (Berg backed Clinton in the primaries.)
Berg could not be reached for comment last night.
Obama was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961, and the campaign posted a document issued by Hawaii on its Web site, fight thesmears.com, confirming his birth there.
Berg said in court papers that the image was a forgery.
The nonpartisan Web site FactCheck.org examined the original document and said it was legitimate.
Further, a birth announcement in the Aug. 13, 1961, Honolulu Advertiser listed Obama's birth there on Aug. 4.

There is no quick fix!!! Just like the Great Depression, it is going to take time to reap all the benefits from this package, but they are meant to be real, lasting jobs and benefits to our society, not a quick boo-boo bandaide,which is all that Bush could provide with his quickie tax rebates!!!! Take off the jaundiced glasses and blinders, forget party lines and affiliations, and just go to MSN or CNN and read the copious outlines there.

He has already said he wants to practice redistribution of wealth (tax oil companies and give it back to people who did not earn it). That is Marxist theory. You know there are some who believe that this is not like the Great Depression, not like the civil war (with the hyperinflation) but actually more like the revolutionary war because of the violations of our constitution. I think it will be very interesting to see how many people will want to preserve it, sacrifice to preserve it, once they realize how threatened it is.

And I'm suppose to be from the party of intolerance and racism. I think you should reread some of your posts and see who is intolerant. I don't come here to poke fun at anybody on either side, I come here because I don't get much out of just agreeing with everybody, I like to hear different ideas and to debate the issues. While the category 4's and 5's are rare, the instance for having them at all is VASTLY INCREASED WHEN THE NUMBER OF HURRICANES THAT COULD BECOME ONE ARE VASTLY INCREASED. Last year and this year both have shown an astonishing upsurge in the NUMBER of hurricanes were are experiencing per season. Since hurricanes are born in the hot air over the African desert, the fact that the desert is expanding by leaps and bounds due to an upward trend in temperatures in that region virtually guarantees we will be having more and more hurricanes that have a chance to develop into killers under just the right conditions.
Nobody knows if global warming is responsible for the expansion of the Sahara or the melting of the polar glaciers, or if the worldwide phenomenon is due to mankind's effects or is just a natural cycle we can't avert. WHO CARES. If some educated people believe they know a way we can HELP the situation why do NeoCons want to thwart them? Oh, right, because corporations might lose money. Our oil economy might burp. So, let's just pooh the world away why don't we. Let's make it a political game and let our arrogant pride hold out for the sake of nothing but holding out. That's the NeoCon game!
