No he doesn't. He quit when she became governor.

What if he did? Thousands of people work for oil companies. And if you want to keep driving your car and putting oil in your furnance and all the million other products in the world that require petroleum, I am thinking you should hope they continue to.

He probably did quit smoking. I quit 2-3 a year myself.
nm
No, I think he should sue the governor of...
Ohio for sicking law enforcement on him for a background check when all he did was answer a question. You really think that is A-OK? Where's the liberal outrage over trampled civil rights? Oh darn..I forgot. On when someone walks on the rights of someone on YOUR side. How silly of me.
Are you governor of a state? sm
if you are, then run. Bill Clinton had only been a governor when he ran. Obama has only been a senator. At least she has actually run a government. Her #2 opponent has not. The #1 on the Dem ticket has not.

Somehow I don't think the American people are going to lose any sleep because you think they are stupid. :)
By the way, I was talking about the governor not you. nm
.
As well as former governor of Mass who
is also a Republican has come out in support of Obama, and he said he has never backed a Democratic presidential nominee before.  The rats on that sinking ship are lessening in number day by day.
Exactly. Look at Governor Schwarzenegger.
He was born in Austria.  He can run for politics and even be governor, but not President of the US because he was not born in the US.  Am I correct?  So I question about the O.  Here is all the crap about O's Birth Certificate, yet why just can't he cough it up himself to stop all this "is he or is he not born in the US."  Gee whiz.  I guess that is how he is going to run the US, makes us question everything.
Not in my state. The governor gives

the money to the casinos and sports arenas. PA, believe it or not, is off the "50 Worse Roads in the Country" put out by Overdrive magazine every year. We're #3 this year. That's because they rebuilt part of the turnpike.

BTW, roads need tri-axles to do the work. Tri-axle owners have to go through a broker. If the broker has his own trucks, his trucks work, the owners don't. Although a broker is not supposed to use his trucks because of prevailing wages on these jobs unless he pays prevailing wages, they get away with it somehow...one broker used to make up fake lease/owner papers so his trucks could work.  Theyall leave the owner/operators in the dust and cut them out of the jobs. I'm talking from experience.

She has been a very successful governor
Lots of people are able to keep family and jobs separate. I'm sure her family is doing just fine. Every family goes through ups and downs. You should really lay off the personal attacks on her because your not very good at it. Lets stick to issues. If she has done something as a governor you don't agree with that's one thing, but your basing this statement on what? That her daughter had a baby????

Take a look at the tea parties yesterday, take a look at congresses approval rating. It's dropping like a lead weight. Take a look at the anointed ones ratings. Dropping like a dead weight too. He's now in the low 50% rating. With this in the WH and senate I'm looking forward to a change of parties next election.
She is governor of Alaska. Oil and Gas is a big part of...
that state's economy. She said the science presented that the polar bears were in danger was faulty. I cannot say, because I have not seen the study. The only things about this I have seen is on environmental sites. I would like to see something less slanted. She is also for alternative forms of energy, but she is a realist. It is going to take a long time for that to be a viable option. Yes, we should work on it. But in the mean time, we need to drill here and drill now. That is the road to getting off foreign oil. I think anyone's energy plan has to include that.

Yes, she is pro life. And she believes that abortion in any case is wrong. I believe that also. We are entitled to that opinion. Yes, the morning after pill is issued to all women who report a rape. Women who do not report a rape can obtain it a health departments, hospitals, and from a physician. As far as incest...I still believe abortion is wrong; however, an abortion law with those exclusions, and add the exclusion to save the life of the mother, would save many thousands of babies every year. This country aborts in excess of 1.2 million babies every year. We could save over 80% of those babies if we had a law like that, instead of an abortion on demand oops law. Just because she is pro life in all cases does not mean she would not be a good VP...and the law will never be changed unless the supreme court overturns its decision on Roe v. Wade. As VP she would have no input into that...even McCain as pres has no input other than appointing judges, and those judges have to get past the Congress.

Just my opinion...so you know where conservative persons stand on it.
Sounds like we share the same governor...
don't even get me started on property taxes. Where is that decrease he promised?? lol. Shoulda known.
Exactly. And the fact that the governor of Ohio...
ordered a background check on him is a violation of his civil rights and he should sue him. That is absolutely ridiculous.
Mundane Governor Stuff
I'm thinking MS Palin's probably pretty peeved to have to deal with such mundane stuff as Alaska's state budget, especially with the fall of the price of oil. Don't worry, Sara. OPEC's planning on holding some back, so the price'll shoot right back up.

How do you keep 'em down on the farm after they've been in that spotlight?
Heads up Governor Schwarzenegger!!!!

If you want to resolve most of the problems in California, how about trying to boot all all the illegals and their anchor babies with all the freebies they are not entitled to, all the jobs they are taking away from legal citizens, and stop giving them free healthcare, free money, free shelter, free subsidies, all NOT FREE TO ME!!!

Obey the law and kick them out and that would take care of most of your financial woes!

The governor of my state is outraged over this
nm
No, he specifically said Bush and the governor of Mississippi. nm

Palin sells governor's jet on ebay

Both McCain and Palin stated in speeches that she sold the jet on ebay. Not true. She posted it - it didn't sell. McCain went a step further - he said she made a profit on it from selling it on ebay. Lies. Now McCain says he misspoke.............PTSD?

On the news today Governor Richardson said it.
on camera.
Ah yes, governor Rendel, of the tax and spend branch...
of the Democratic party. I saw where Specter finally changed parties...only a formality, he has voted as a Democrat for years. Obama got elected and he wanted on the train...lol.
Corrupt liberal democrat Governor arrested.
Of course no surprise here. Why is it every day we see nothing but corrupt liberal after corrupt liberal? This is good though. Why can't liberals just be honest? It only supports the theory that liberals are mentally derranged.
Hopefully everybody will quit!
And they can stop building and maintaining sports arenas, etc., etc., on the backs of the smokers - sin tax anyone? You can bet your sweet patootie, there'd be rioting (in the Senate) if they tried taxing alcohol as hard as they tax tobacco.
I don't have to quit anything........
the lies, corruption, abuse of power, shredding the constitution, voiding the Geneva Convention, on and on and on - ALL unforgiveable!!  If you forget the past, you are condemned to repeat it. Screw Bush - I hope he fries in he!! along with his neo-con nazi followers.
Exactly! Maybe if he'd quit doing that
we'd stop ragging on him!
I don't think most smoker's will quit just to

but I agree with you to some extent.  I think most American's would be happy to have their taxes raised a little bit if it meant saving the life of even 1 child or improving the health of a chronically ill child.  I certainly wouldn't mind having my taxes raised to help children AND the elderly get more affordable healthcare.  On the other hand, for now the cigarette tax is a great idea, and if it does help some people quit, more power to them!  I'm sure you see the same thing I do in medical reports every day though - people with COPD, asthma, lung cancer - still smoking!!  If impending death isn't enough to make a lot of people quit I don't think $1 extra per pack will either.

come on sam quit hiding

be a man, sign your posts.

If you are sick of it, then why don't you quit

going to get rich somehow with Obama in the White House.  This stuff doesn't happen overnight.

Furthermore anyone with a 401K or stocks know that there is a downside.  You don't always win...  So who is looking for free money now?  Oh the stock holders are??????  These are the same people that live the good life.  Well too bad!   You lose because you put your faith in the stock market...  Oh well..  Do I feel pity?  Nope.  Not when there are people struggling just to make minimum wage.

I was born with no money in my hand and I'll die with no money in my hand.  Makes no difference to me really.

Anyone with any sense knows "you can't take it with ya'."  Savor the moment.

All of you republicans out there that think McCain is going to somehow turn this country around are in for a big shock when he gets in there.  The joke is on him.  He thinks this Palin person is going to get him in, and he's oh so wrong!  I have to wonder if he really is demented.  Really?????

me too - who else plans to quit
Why work. There are no incentives. Why should I work when my money will be taken and given to people like Peggy Joseph who stated she won't have to work to buy gas and she won't have to work to pay her mortgage.

Well, I did quit for a whole 3 weeks
one time. After that, I went downhill the next couple times I tried.Made it a whole 5 hours.
Ayers doesn't regret the bombings, doesn't feel like they did enough sm

In a story that appeared in the Times on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, Ayers told a reporter while promoting his memoir "Fugitive Days": "I don't regret setting bombs...I feel we didn't do enough."

Mr. Ayers, now a professor of education in Chicago, was a founder of the Weather Underground, which bombed government buildings in the early 1970s. He was indicted on conspiracy charges that were thrown out for prosecutorial misconduct.

He served with Mr. Obama on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago, a charitable organization, and, along with his wife, the former Weather Underground member Bernardine Dohrn, hosted Mr. Obama at his home in 1995 when he was running for state office.

Mr. Obama has called Mr. Ayers "somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old."...so because it was 40 years ago, and Ayers is still proud of what he did, how is it justifiable for a US presidential candidate to now be friends with this man?  Unless he has the same view of America.

Ah, quit your whining, you're just a know-nothing
God help us, PK, this is the best response we can elicit. I can hear them already. I guess it's easier to just DENY, DENY, DENY and swiftboat than face the truth. Where,exactly, does the proverbial buck stop? javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');
javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');
Well then quit threatening to leave
because you just keep getting my hopes up.

Stay or leave I really don't care, because the sane people who are the MAJORITY in this country will protect us all from the likes of you...a hate filled leftist.

Oh, Sam, quit making so much sense.
nm
You're the one who keeps responding. Just quit your...sm
harassment.

I was speaking to you, no matter how you try to twist the converation, and say I can't follow the thread. Period.

She was very confident. Quit the bashing.
nm
If you were a "good little communist" and quit...sm
your job, the Russians would have shipped you off to Siberia. For us that would equate to Alaska. Maybe that's where you should head anyway after election day when Obama wins by a wide margin.
He quit after he started his campaign
has fallen off the wagon several times during the campaign, just FYI.
You can quit kissing butt now
we get the point.

Geez.
The Spheris CEO quit yesterday, too.
x
I do not hate Bush...please quit..
saying that. That remark wasn't aimed at me, but I want to respond. Just because I, for one, do not care for him as president, do not trust his decisions, and think he is a moron, does not mean I hate him. I actually feel sorry for him because I don't think he even realized what the job involved. I think he was talked into running by the Republican party. Kind of like you talk a kid into something. I think George Bush had an easy ride as far as criticism the first few years of his term. A lot of people believed he walked on water. Even though I did not vote for him and did not believe he had all the character that he was hyped up to have, I never "hated" the guy. I don't hate him now. I'm just saddened and sickened by the eight wasted years with him in office and all of the damage that the Republican and the Democrats in Congress have allowed to happen under his reign. Many say he has a good heart and that may be true, but he did not and does not have the mental ability to hold such a position in good or hard times. Sorry if this offends any Republicans or Bush supporters, but my God surely you have to agree this probably sweet husband and good father was bilked into the presidency by his cronies so they could have a wheeling-dealing good ole time...and they did...just look at us now. We are paying for it and will for a long time.
I would quit trying to talk to these lefties.
nm
I quit because it was expensive, so it might work for some...
In Washington I was paying almost $7/pack if I bought them out in town. I really think that the tax money on cigarettes would be better spent funding Medicare for the people who have developed emphysema from smoking. It would be like your own little medical savings account, you just have no choice but to put money in it, unless you quit smoking. You really should consider quitting, though, JTBB. I feel so much better since I quit. But that is all I will say because it really is none of my business and I am sure you have heard that enough times!
And what happens when more smokers quit? Who is going to pay for the unfunded sm
mandate then? I say spread the pain around now and find a viable way of paying for the program.
I really wish you would quit this childish stuff.
nm
At some point we do have to quit whining
and do something for ourselves.  Perpetual victimhood is not healthy.
Biden's son quit as a lobbyist on August 25
Letter was not released until yesterday. No cigar.
Obama quit smoking at the start of his...sm
Campaign, so worry no more. (I think Obama smoked 1/2 to 1 pack a day.)

McCain is also a former smoker - 2 packs a day. How long either of them smoked, I don't know, but they are BOTH former smokers.

As far as the "radicals and communists" comment, you don't think McCain has "associated with" plenty of questionable people in his decades in government? I do.
Kathleen Parker wants Palin to quit.
Criticism of John McCain from the right has escalated this week, from George Will to the Wall Street Journal's editorial page. But some conservatives, in the wake of the Katie Couric interview, are also having second thoughts about Sarah Palin. Popular syndicated columnist and TV pundit Kathleen Parker, for example, has seen enough.

In a surprising post at National Review's site, she calls for Palin to step aside for the good of the country (and benefit of her family), saying she is out of her depth.

Parker writes: "No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I’ve been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I’ve also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted.

"If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself. If Palin were a man, we’d all be guffawing, just as we do every time Joe Biden tickles the back of his throat with his toes. But because she’s a woman — and the first ever on a Republican presidential ticket — we are reluctant to say what is painfully true.

"What to do?

"Only Palin can save McCain, her party, and the country she loves. She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first. Do it for your country."
so quit talking and start doing -- what's holding you
nm
I hope you are not that small minded. You may quit your job
any time you like and apply for welfare and see if you get it.  Maybe, Bush will let you draw it now.
Then quit asking questions and posting messages
If people stopped posting then it wouldn't have come to this.
I'll quit taking my antidepressants when you...sm
stop posting such utter nonsense and depressing messages on here. You stay right in there, though - pretty soon I'll be able to get off them and you will have to start taking them - thanks to your ever-lovin' Obama!
Let me rephrase that. It doesn't *seem like* my vote doesn't count...sm
It does not count because its in the bag that our 3 electoral votes will go to the republican party.
