Very thoughtful post...
....and I too, have tried to be objective, and listen to all sides.

But what I come away with, is this:

1. Economy. Neither one knows much about how it works. Obama was just a lot of rhetoric again last night (so my husband said, as I had to work). But if you really, really listen to him, he and Michelle are all about class warfare and class envy, and being for the little guy, when they are the big guy, and really on the opposite side of most of the people who think that they can "save" them in all things and make them completely dependent on the govt for work, jobs, healthcare, etc. That's a welfare state, and I DO NOT want a govt who has control over every aspect of my life. Give me tax cuts across the board for all, not just the poor and middle class (the poor don't pay taxes anyway, so really, they're not getting a tax break from nothing, are they?). Wait and see if you only tax the rich more..they alrady pay most of the taxes anyway...but there go the jobs for the poor and middle class, if the wealthy can't afford to stay in business....Tax cuts for all is proven to stimulate all aspects of the economy. More taxes, on just the rich, will not.

2. Foreign affairs. Picking Biden was a mistake. While trying to compensate for his own lack of experience, he picks someone with experience...but he is more of the same in Washington....when Obama is supposed to be about change...I don't think I need to explain that one..

3. Health care...yeah, it's a mess, but keep the govt out of it, please. It'll be worse, much worse if they are involved. Socialized medicine does not work.

4. Iraq. They're kicking us out anyway, and we're leaving anyway, so for Obama to say he will get us out of Iraq, is a non-issue, because it is going to be happen without him, and the next prez will be bringing most of them home anyway.

5. I do feel we are safer post 9/11. Bush has kept us safer than you or I will ever know. But truly, I do not want a president who will "talk" to our enemies, and make them see reason. Obama doesn't feel like we're threatened by any of these terrorists, and he is wrong. And you don't talk to terrorists.

6. No, being imprisoned in a POW camp does not make you qualified to run a country. But the character that shapes and defines you from that experience, does. He was a leader when he refused to be granted release early, and insisted on every POW to be released before him in the order they were captured. That took courage, and character.

I believe McCain has more strength of character than Obama.

Yes, I agree with you that Obama seems like a good, family man, that says that he has only our best interests at heart. That's doesn't make him ready to lead a country. And I shudder to think of a more socialist welfare state, that he wants to put us all in.
Actually, your post here is very thoughtful...sm
and quite frankly, these days on this board, it's all a big joke to a lot of the democrats, you must agree with me on that one. What they see as jokes, and crude comparisons, usually are just plain crude, and are quite free with their zingers. I was trying to stay with the Halloween season, as I believe that last one from them was something about pig masks and lipstick for halloween. But I digress. My post was meant as a joke, but obviously not taken as one. My apologies to whoever mistook me.

But seriously, though, almost anytime there is a serious debate here, there's a few women on this board, with, shall we say, slight leftward leanings, who swoop down and ridicule the republican posters. Just watch...they are waiting to descend as oon as they see my post.....

They did it to me last night. Why would I want to engage anyone in that kind of senseless attack

As for your thoughtful post, I disagree with most of it, although I am polite enough to allow you your views.

Freedom to choose, freedom to post, freedom to be kind, freedom for hope and change.....

I'm not a rich republican. But I sure want to be able to think for myself, and work for myself, and take care of myself. I don't want any part of the socialism reform that Mr. Obama wants to bring about. I say no to big government. I say no to tax cuts that are really just a one time rebate to the poor, and then everything else will be hiked.

I say help people to help themselves. Don't keep them down on the "so called" welfare plantation. Enable them to help themselves, not take care of them from cradle to grave.

I applied for unemployment once, in my early 20s. It was an extremely horribly feeling, putting myself in the hands of someone who got to decide if I was telling the truth, and deserved to have unemployment. Much as I imagine it feels for those who have to apply for welfare, and social services.

But there are programs there for those that need them now. Those that need them, can have those services. We don't need bigger, and more of them.

Health reform? Yes, health care needs reforming. But social medicine doesn't work. Ask all the people in Canada that die before they can get in to see their specialist. Ask all the MS patients who can only have one drug prescribed that is covered under their social programs...they have to pay for everything else out of their pocket. I just did a tape on that very thing...shocking how long one has to wait for health care in a social society.

Social societies doesn't work.

Just look at your history.

Wow, thanks so much for that post, really thoughtful and true!!.....nm

Very nice, thoughtful, kind considerable post. sm
Also very small and closed minded. It's your way or no way.

I really wish you guys were nicer, but it doesn't seem to happen, does it?
Good points.

I keep hoping that Krazy Katherine (Harris) will begin to spill her guts about it all since the Bushes have turned their backs on her, after she saw to it that he took Florida.  She's probably waiting for her payback and isn't getting it from them.

Here here - very good points.
I didn't catch the whole interview (just a question here and there) but I did hear him ask her about the Bush doctrine. I looked at DH and asked him "what part of it is he asking about". She had the perfect right to ask him to clarify. It was definitely a set up (or tried to be a set up). Overall I think she gave a good interview given they were trying to bait and trap her. Luckily it didn't work and she came out looking better. Maybe what they should do is get some people from other countries who have no vested interest in who gets picked to interview and be the moderators during debates because it's obvious that it doesn't matter what network you work for, if you want one candidate to win over the other your going to be condescending to the other. Boy do I miss Tim Russert.

BTW - With all that has been thrown at her from the media and the liberal sacs she sure can take care of herself. Makes me realized what a strong VP she will make.

From what I understand the Obamas did look at the public school system in DC.  Unfortunately, it's not terrific.  Don't blame the feds - blame the people who insisted on election Marion Barry ad nauseum to one position of power or another in that city.

Picture yourself as a parent of a public school child.  Now picture yourself as that same parent, yet your child has to go through metal detectors and screening and more every time they want to go to class because the President's kids go to school with you.  Now picture yourself as that same parent because there is a kidnapping threat or death threat to those same kids of the president.

The Obamas made the only choice that was viable for their children and for other children who will be going to school with them.  Public schools are not set up for the type of security that POTUS' kids need.

And let's be realistic.  This POTUS needs a helluva lot more security than others did.  I love the guy and I voted for him, but I'm not blind to the security issues that are faced with him being POTUS.

Good points
That was what I kept thinking but didn't know how to word it. Every station has the news on, and then they have shows where people give their opinions/comments, but when people on this board will call it Foux New or Fixed News (or whatever) - I think Geez, these are the same exact news stories, film clips that I'm seeing on MSNBC and CNN when they are doing their news segments. So why is it okay if it's on their stations but the same exact news story on Fox is not credible? Unfortunately though I think your last sentance said it all "you don't let them form your opinions". Unfortunately I think a lot of liberals do let Olbermann and Matthews and the likes form their opinion. I know this because I listen to my family and also because I used to be a huge Olberman and Matthews fan (until I saw the crap they were pulling during the campaign trail and how little respect they gave for the republican side ridiculing them. I would think, well that's not fair because they are not critizing Hillary or Obama. Then my friend said listen to other stations and see what they have to say then form your own opinion once you hear both sides. Otherwise your just being brainwashing.
Good points - thanks for the reminder
Sometimes I need to be brought back to earth here.

I do think being pro-life and being against abortion are two different things. I don't think McCain cares anything about the life of "adults" and will send anyone to their death in a heartbeat to fuel the war he wants to continue.

You are absolutely 100% correct on not laying the whole war thing on the republicans. Largely the democrats voted for it (not all but a good number of them - including Hillary). However, with that said we have Mr. Cheney - need I say more. I used to like him until I started reading more about him and his role in the decisions that go on. Bush is an imbic!le, hence Cheney is really the decision maker. Bush is just a puppet and Mr. Cheney is the puppet master.

On a different note - this morning I was listing to a show and have heard now that it's pretty obvious that at the convention Barack will announce his running mate is going to be Hillary. If that happens, no matter how much I dislike McCain I WILL be voting for McCain. I will do anything I have to to keep her far away from the white house. I just wish McCain would stop saying "my freinds" every 5 minutes in his speeches. It's very condescending and irritating as all get out. One time we listened to his speech that ran aproximately 5 minutes in which he said "my friends" about 18 or so times. It's like everytime he starts a new sentance he begins with "My friends".

As for the nurse in the video...she should be thrown in jail for acting immoral and aiding in the death of an infant(s). I'm against abortions. First, there are too many childless families in America who are desperate at any chance to have a child. No reason to murder the innocent child. But partial birth abortions...I really started hearing about that when Clinton was president and he signed whatever it was approving this. It's totally disgusting and nauseating and anyone who is doing or or agreeing to have it done should be aborted themselves!!!! They can justify it any way they want to - it is still murder and dispicable! It really saddens me to think people actually think this is okay. But when they go down that road they are not human beings anymore - they are sub-human.
you make some good points; however,
for people so very skeptical of the 'black man' how is it you immediately on a dime trust this woman and you nor any of us know who she really is. You have NO idea about her and you defend her like she is your own family. It is kind of weird...

From our point of view, and by that I mean undecided about who to vote for, we are not that trusting after being burned 8 years ago...
All very good points. But the proof is in the pudding....
it is up to HIM to change our minds and prove us wrong, and for the good of the country, I hope he is able to. Sincerely.

Take heart tho...they did not get a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate like they hoped, so if the Republicans will grow a backbone and stand up to them...he will be limited somewhat in what he can do. Especially in the case of SUpreme Court justices. I hope they step up (the Republicans). They have to earn my respect TOO.
Post the name of the other liberal talk shows here...Thanks! sm

Good point. I see no problem with both points of view being taught...
and letting indivdiuals decide. Isn't that what America is about?
Provocative, no?
Nothing like a healthy dose of politics with your coffee!
Nice post piglet. All your points are well made.

I agree 100% with what you had to say.  Too many Americans have been brainwashed by fear, and I think many Americans who are against universal healthcare are just buying into the Chicken Little syndrome that is so prevelent in this country lately.  The sky will fall if all of our citizens have access to affordable healthcare!

As you said, using France's system as a model does not mean we have to do everything exactly as France has, but they are a great example of a system that is working.

Nope. I don't just post talking points. I back it up.
see above.
I found several opposition articles and will post the high points....
and actually I was surprised to see that there were some common concerns and actually very little concerning *a move toward socialized medicine.* This is what I found:

Proposals to expand coverage to children from families earning three or four times the federal poverty limit ($61,940 and $82,600, respectively, for a family of four) also highlights the question of just how many should be subsidized, necessarily at others' expense. The $61,940 eligibility limit would cover median-income families in 14 states, and the $82,600 limit would do so in 42 states. Parents earning such incomes do not need additional subsidies for their children to get health care.
************************
Baucus, Grassley Comment
Senate Finance Committee Chair Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and the committee's ranking Republican Chuck Grassley (Iowa) jointly requested the CBO study but "had divergent views of its findings," according to CQ Today.

Baucus, who supports spending $50 billion over five years to expand SCHIP, said the report validates the program. CQ Today reports that Baucus "expressed little concern" that people would leave private insurance plans to enroll in SCHIP, saying that every public health insurance program provides coverage to some people who might be able to obtain private health insurance (CQ Today, 5/10). Baucus said, "The fact that uninsurance for children in higher-income families has stayed about the same means that SCHIP is helping the lower-income families it's meant to serve."

Grassley said the report supports his argument that SCHIP eligibility should not be expanded beyond 200% of the poverty level. He said, "This report tells us that Congress needs to make sure that whatever it does, it should actually result in more kids having health insurance, rather than simply shifting children from private to public health insurance" (CongressDaily, 5/10).
****************************
SCHIP is a joint state-federal program that provides health coverage to 6.6 million children from families that live above the poverty line but have difficulty paying for private insurance. Already, the program is generous. A family of four with an income of more than $72,000 (350% of the federal poverty level) is eligible for SCHIP's subsidized insurance. Now, Congress wants to expand coverage even further, to families making up to 400% of the federal poverty level ($82,600 for a family of four). But, according to the Congressional Budget Office, 89% of families earning between 300% and 400% of the federal poverty level already have coverage. The CBO estimates that some 2 million kids already covered under private insurance would be switched over to government insurance. The only purpose of all of this seems to be to turn children's health insurance into an outright entitlement — part of the Democrat's broader push to move all of America's health-care industry under government control.
Along with expanding SCHIP coverage to include people higher and higher up in the middle class, the Democrats' bill would also give states incentives to sign up aggressively new "clients," by loosening requirements to join the program and encouraging states to market the program (anyone who rides the New York City subway knows how active the Empire State is already being on this front). How is all of this to be funded? Well, the bill would impose a 61-cent increase in the 39-cent a pack federal cigarette tax, bringing it up to an even dollar. We've written before on how corrupt is the government's interest in the cigarette business. It turns out that the government needs to keep people smoking; the Heritage Foundation estimates the government would need to sign up some 22 million more Americans to take up smoking by 2017 to fund this increase in SCHIP. To add to the irony, most smokers are low-income Americans, meaning that the poor essentially will be funding the health insurance of the middle class. Mr. Bush would be right to veto it while working to increase access to private insurance through tax breaks and deregulation.
****************************
So, it would appear to me that the major problems some have against it are: it will shift children who are now covered by private insurance onto a program unncessarily; it will allow for more adults on the program, something that was never intended; that paying for it with a tobacco tax targets the very people who need the assistance, the lower income families as statistically that is where the most smokers are...essentially shifting the burden for adding middle class families to the lower income families...and I think we can all agree that is not a good thing.

In my research I also found something VERY interesting...
I am sorry to say I did not know the particulars of the President's proposal regarding insuring children...only his proposal extends to everyone, not just children...sure have not seen the media report it....

Opposing view: President's plan is better

Extend SCHIP program without spending billions to expand it.

By Mike Leavitt
We all want to see every American insured, and President Bush has proposed a plan to see that everyone is. Congress, instead, is pushing a massive expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) that grows government without helping nearly as many children.
The president's plan, announced last January, would fix our discriminatory tax policy so that every American family received a $15,000 tax break for purchasing health insurance. If Congress acted on the president's plan, nearly 20 million more Americans would have health insurance, according to the independent Lewin Group.
In contrast, Democrats in Congress would more than double government spending on SCHIP and extend the program to families earning as much as $83,000 a year. But their plan would add fewer than 3 million children to SCHIP, and many of the newly eligible children already have private insurance. So instead of insuring nearly 20 million more Americans privately, Congress would spend billions of dollars to move middle-income Americans off private insurance and onto public assistance.
The Democrats' plan has other problems. It would fund SCHIP's expansion with a gimmick that hides its true cost. It would allocate billions of dollars more than is needed to cover eligible kids. And it would allow states to continue diverting SCHIP money from children to adults. This is a boon for the states but costs the federal government more.
Ideology is really behind the Democrats' plan. They trust government more than the free choices of American consumers. Some in Congress want the federal government to pay for everyone's health care, and expanding SCHIP is a step in that direction.
SCHIP is part of the fix for low-income children, and Congress should put politics aside and send the president a clean, temporary extension of the current program. Expanding SCHIP is not the only way or the best way to insure the uninsured. The president's plan is better. It would benefit many more Americans. It would focus SCHIP on the children who need help most. And it would move us more sensibly toward our common goal of every American insured.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think a $15,000 tax break would help more American families afford health insurance, thereby covering more kids AND adults, which is the goal, right? And no raising of taxes or targeting the lower income families with a tobacco tax...sounds like a win-win. I don't care if it is Bush's idea or the Democratic Congress' idea...it is a good idea. This time it happened to be Bush's.

Just my take on it.

If you want to find the articles, just put *expanding SCHIP* in a Google search. I read several articles in support of both sides. I did not see much about the income leveling, except in one article, which did mention that New York had a "sliding scale." It did not define it, but I am thinking it is at the purview of the states, and if New York did it others probably could too?
Good post....truth doesn't always sound good

Good post - good research (sm)
History does repeat itself at times. I had forgotten about the 50s and Russia.

Very scary times we live in and so many new enemies. This is definitely not a scare tactic but a very clear warning. You can't ignore facts, they are there.
Good point, good post. Thanks.

why do we vote for people to make things complicated?
People who make their bills 900 pages should be rejected on the spot.  There should be a page max to make sure that the people representing us fully understands what they are getting US into.  JERKS!!!!  thanks for showing me that!
actually your thought is very thoughtful...

I have been a Democrat for as long as I canb remember, and at the age of 51 years I find myself no longer wanting to be a Democrat, and I certainly do not want to be Republican. There are many valid points in your post; they make a lot of sense. I see this country going straight to the highest bidder; we are quickly becoming a Third World country and it's heartbreaking.  Many of us here come from a background of hardworking, honest families, our parents raising us with what they had, and honestly, most of them did not have much.  I too am extremely fristrated at the fact that some people on assistance fare better than the most of us who get up, rain or shine, to do what's expected - WORK.  I know people on assistance who have said 'why work when I don't have to?..wtf!!?!?!?!!?

A good friend of mine who is a Social Worker has related to me time and time again that it makes her so upset and angry to have people come into her place of work getting assistance who are driving new cars, living in better housing than she is, etc.  I too could go on and on but in my many years of living and paying taxes - SOCIAL PROGRAMS ARE INDEED A FORM OF SLAVERY and have hindered more than helped.  I was a young mother and I was on assistance for only three years, and in that three years I did go to school, get training to become a MT and with the grace of the one above - WORKED.  I also have MS; have had it since 1990 and if I did not have the health plan I have, my Avonex would cost $1,200/month.  My MS is progressing but I am working but in Jan 2009 with the advent of voice recognition, my job will be no more.  I was even told by my neurologist that I am not 'sick' enough to be placed on Social Security Disability; so I wonder what will happen when I no longer have a job, cannot afford my meds?  It's frightening to say the least but I just think its criminal that someone who does not want to work can go to the nearest county assistance office and get help when I know I would be given the 3rd degree if I needed help. There is a LOT wrong with THAT

Oh, it was thoughtful alright............
not much intelligence involved though. All the run around speeches he gives for those who refuse to see it, just are nothing more than he says one thing and completely intends to do another. It's not that hard to hear for those of us who aren't falling for that Obama love fest you have going.

Wow, what an intelligent answer, and thoughtful.
nm
Thanks, very kind and thoughtful of you to point that out....sm
I must have been thinking of the democrat they compared him to at the time, Gerry Studds.

Good post gt!
Amazing how the difference just slides off some people's backs. They label those who want to save lives as killers and think themselves saviors because they want killing to go on indefinitely.

A person has to be screwy in the head to think in such twisted terms!
good post

Thank you for your cogent comment.  I agree with all you stated.  I don't think we should allow the loud hysterical right wing to dominate the discussion. When I hear an emotional comment like ashamed, outraged, unpatriotic I see right through it as an attempt to silence people speaking and impose the attacker's inauthenic values upon all. Freedom of speech to me means we have to tolerate everybody saying what they think even if we don't agree. It does not mean that we are obligated to respond to an attacker. Thank you for your post.

Good post (sm)

Like you, I do not support either candidate.  I think you have made some valid points in your post.  Oh, how I wish people would have voted for Ron Paul.

Good post
Looks like their church did many good things for people. Not all "hate" that others who don't want Obama elected would portray the church as. This is what I like....a well researched post and not rumors, lies and misinformation. Thank you.
Your post was also very good. I

agree with most of what you say, especially about schools. In my county, our scores are horrendous, yet our taxes are sky high. The district I live in appeals tax assessments if a house is sold for more than what it was assessed for and, guess what. They are winning most of the appeals. So if a house is sold for $180,000 and assessed at $100,000, the school district gets the newer assessment. This, I believe is the correct way BUT what does the school do with it????? Right now, they want to build a new field house for the sports field complete with a tower (for what good purpose?)

Another school district is building a $30,000,000 school because their enrollment went up by 500 students. Why not just add on to the one they have? There is plenty of room.

Teachers are striking in another county. Why? They don't want to pay $150 a month for health insurance. Get real, people. Don't they realize what everyday people pay for health insurance?  Yet, most of the teachers don't teach anymore. They're in it for the money. Teachers in my district make $50K and up a year. The administration makes over $100K. For what?

I have no idea whom I'm voting for because of the promises. Barack makes some good promises, everything this country wants to hear, but Congress and the Senate controls what laws pass, not the President.

As for McCain, I don't care for him but I think he picked a good running mate, although I would much rather if Mitt Romney was chosen. I like SP's view, but again, how much does a VP get done.  I don't think Tom Ridge really wanted to be VP, although he was good when he was Governor of PA. He did a lot for the people of the state.

The major problem with this country in the past 20 years has been a "gimme" attitude. Everyone wants everything given to them but don't want to pay for it, yet don't realize that they DO pay in the long run by higher taxes or less services.

I wish people would vote by brains and not by heart. Research, research, research, then chose the best candidate. JMHO

This is a good post
I read someone's post that Joe the Plumber was a "plant". At first I thought that is not fair to Obama's campaign, but then I remembered that Obama's camp plants people to set up McCain, just like Hillary's people set up Obama, etc, etc. Seems to be the norm nowadays.

But one thing I realized was that it doesn't really matter whether he was planted or not. It didn't change the answer Obama gave (redistribution of wealth). I think a lot were upset that more people started finally hearing about the socialist plan to take your money you worked for and give to those who don't work, and I think that's what a lot were upset about (us finding out the truth).

I do believe his comments are starting to wake up a lot of voters as to what's going to happen to their hard-earned money, and do believe this is probably just the beginning of his downslide. Obama and McCains poll numbers are starting to catch up with each other and I have heard political experts on both sides say if Obama was so much better than McCain and a clear winner he would be ahead 20 or 30 points, but he is only ahead by 4 to 6 points (which is down from 11 points last week).

I'm also glad that McCain has picked Sarah Palin because she is just telling it like it is and that is what the Americans want. Not someone who is going to sugar coat things.

I do agree that Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber have saved McCain. Looking forward to the next 3 weeks.

PS - Loved Obama's speech he gave at the fundraiser where he said Joe Biden wants to be known as Joe the politician. That was absolutely hysterical. I think they've all got a great sense of humor.
Good post, very well said.
They ALL waste thier campaign money - they think it's thier God-given right. When they go out of state, do you think they stay at at a Motel 6? Do you think they have dinner at McDonald's? Do you think they go down to Hertz and rent some little two-door to get around town?

The people that sent them all that money knew that it was for campaign expenses - whatever they may be. I am personally more upset at the money they waste with the worthless commercials that really tell us nothing about either candidate. Can we just get over this and move on - please? It's just such a nonissue! There's a post a little further down about whether we're headed for another Great Depression and all people can talk about are Palin's clothes - get a grip on reality!!!
good post
he does flip-flop on so many issues....

he seems to not be able to make a decision and stand by it... take a look at his voting record. "tell them what they wanna hear" is all i see and people are eating it up, truth or not.

it is very scary.
Good post - sm
While GP is not as bad as the others I do tend to find myself reading the subject line if she posts something because she has said some valid things that I agree with at times. Not all of it but some of it. But when I've seen too many attacks by the others without any reason I find its so calming to just skip over it without looking. Almost the same satisfaction I get on hanging up on sometime while they are spewing absolute garbage and hate towards others.
very good post.
i am especially with you on the prayer and fasting. i also agree with everything else you said and pray as things get tough, we all pull together and find our common ground, and common purpose.
Very good post. s/m

I do believe that one of Obama's major objectives is to wipe out those party lines that have so divided everyone.  He has stated so many, many times, has promised to unite the parties into a single productive unit that will together make the decisions that are the best for all.  I think he deserves the chance to make that happen.  We will all be waiting with great expectation to see the changes he will attempt to make.  The whole politics of Washington is in dire need of a new direction, and I firmly believe he is the one to do it.  I know I am going to get attacked for these statements, but if I have one wish it is for each of us to keep an open mind and try to see things from a different perspective, and in order to facilitate a positive change, we must adopt a positive outlook.

This is a very good post, but

I do have fear.  I watched the O'Reilly Factor last night.  Obama picked Emanuel, one of the most left wing liberal and will not have respect for bipartisanship.  This guy is not to be trusted and even Clinton stated this to Richard Morris who has it in his book.  Also on O'Reilly Factor last night, some feel Obama will be nothing more than a puppet by the Democrates.  Lastly, the old folks that were brought up and raised by their certain morals, values, and beliefs for this country are now gone.  Poof.  Disappeared.  This country will never be the same.  Now will be liberal.  I am sorry, but it is hard for me to accept this right now and it is hard for me to just change my morals and values just like that in one day.  I am worried about our country.

Kramer was also on the show and stated he liked McCain's drill now.  He said he hopes Obama will start this economy growing like how McCain wanted by starting new jobs for drilling and natural resources.  Can you imagine?  We start new companies for drilling oil, wind, coal, etc., and they will make money.  We can hire plenty of people for those new jobs that will make money.  Computer companies, furniture companies, paper products, telephone companies, and so on would make money because they are furnishing the new companies.  Delis and fastfood services would open up new stores to feed people during lunch.  Major domino effect and a good one.  Hopefully Obama will see that, but right now he just wants to tax us so we all will be paying taxes each year and no jobs being created, but more unemployment.

Your post is good.  I was a democrate and changed to republican.  I hope you are right about Obama and I hope O'Reilly Factor, Kramer, Dick Morris, and all the others that were on last night are wrong about Obama.

Good post
Says what we feel. I believe we all hope for the best. We all wish him very well.

You can't say if he's going to be a good president or bad president because he has not even taken oath yet. Give the guy a chance. Keep a watchful eye out on him, watch who he picks to be in his cabinet (they are the ones making the decisions and guiding him). Just because I didn't vote for the guy doesn't mean I don't like him. If he does good his trust will have been earned. Until then I am worried, nervous and scared - Human.
Good post - sm
Unfortunately O has not provided any answers - just like all the other issues. No answers just fluff talk.

Goes to show you he cares little about the people whose lives depend on coal industry. But then again, aren't those the same people who cling to their guns and religion.
good post!
I agree 100%. I mean really, if we keep backing down and trying to accommodate everybody, I think we will eventually lose ourselves and what is right and wrong, what this country's founding fathers stood for.

PS I don't hate u either, just consider it wrong. I woudl not be one to physically or verbrally attack you.
