How is this helpful? Why is this necessary? sm
This is what I really really can't stand about liberals. BLAME BLAME BLAME.  Can't wait until the flood waters have cleared. I am sure this will be examined, but right now, people are suffering and dying. Could ya put down the poison pen for just a sec and try and have some compassion for these people?
extremely helpful
Extremely helpful, if you ask me.  Have to let the people know whose fault it was.
I saw one Republican say it was not helpful...
all the rest say that it was. You are correct, it was not going to pass as is, McCain knew it, he said so, and that is why he went. He got ALL the parties together in the meeting he asked the President to call, including Obama. What did that do? Focus everyone in Washington ON the issue, and focus America ON the issue. Yesterday only senators were talking. Today, there are four people in a room, a Dem rep from house and senate and a Repub rep from House and senate. EVERYONE is involved, and only 4 people hammering out the details. Since EVERYONE is represented, a bill that comes out will have bipartisan support and will pass. That was NOT going to happen unless McCain did what he did. It is a GOOD thing he did it, and it is a GOOD thing he asked the President to get Obama up there to be part of it. THAT is TRUE bipartisanship and that is what McCain is about. He put his bid for the Presidency on the line to do what is best for this country. It only reinforced for me why I am voting for him.
Cool. Thanks. It's helpful.

Go here and check out language for Arizona.

This is a 5-page document with Provisional Ballot information specific to Arizona.

Seems like they will count once address, ID and precinct information is verified. If your daughter votes in accordance with your posts, I may be cancelling out my own vote here, but above all, we want all voices heard and fair elections to the best of our ability. Hope this helps and good luck with your picks.
Thanks for your helpful dictionary comment.
That's the problem with discussing things like religion, sexuality, and politics - someone always has to make some kind of smart-a$$ comment and then...

Discussion over.
Isn't it time to watch Hannity or bowl or some other watch Nascar?

Clean your shoe, why don't you.
Because obviously, that smell is following you around.

There is no Air America scandal and certainly nothing you can(reasonably, although we know you don't take that seriously)blame Rachel Maddow for. Air America's former CEO made some bad decisions (gee, that never happens does it?) because he had connections with the charity in question and the fledgling AA was in trouble. However, that was HIS mistake and he is no longer at AA (yes, some people actually get rid of poor performers, unlike our WH). AA didn't do anything wrong and there are no charges against them because there's nothing to prosecute. DESPITE that they have acknowledged that they feel badly about the entire affair and have offered to repay the money even though they are not obligated to do so. I'd say that's far from scandalous - and very much unlike anything you'd see a NeoCon do - they don't pay back ANYBODY even when it IS their fault. Why, here you have the Republican governor of Kentucky under investigation and he declares he's going to use the power of the office to PARDON HIMSELF. Nice schtick if you can get it, huh.

And when are you going to give up and admit defeat anyway? Still waiting for Karl Rove to flood the airwaves with his particularly sour mutilation of the truth? You can't win this one no matter how many radio stations you try to smear. You're all suddenly looking pretty sallow standing there in the spotlight all by yourselves. Face it - Bush will never live this down. His appointments will never live this down. They did wrong, the whole world has seen it. Even Shepard Smith and Geraldo have seen it. Even Newt Gingrich has seen it! Incredible huh? It hardly matters what they do now. The damage is done. Americans who actually care will save as many as they can from here on out and the news is only going to get worse for you and your conning stormtroopers. A lot of those people will survive. A lot of them will talk. It's not only Democrats who are enraged over this egregiously horrible bumbling. If I were you I'd just slink off into the shadows and not make it any worse for myself. For once Democrats and real Republicans are united against this deplorably out of touch and elitist bunch of Washington money-suckers. Don't blame us for the political mileage - that's just a sad side effect. We'll take it but we'd rather thousands more people had lived instead of having their corpses nibbled by rats in the filthy flooded streets. We owe them. So just stand down - this one is NOT SPINNABLE.
I meant... NOW shoe...nm
But I know you'll stay because you need us to validate yourself. You're not at your best unless you are in your leftist/lib basher mode, eh. Keep it up, and people like you will expose the right brotherhood for what it's worth.
Shoe's on the other foot now
I didn't support Clinton's foray into Bosnia. A lot of the quotes from Tom DeLay have good points, much as I hate to admit it. So why can't he see that now? And why can't Bush? Maybe because they never had any motivation to help anybody in the first place, but rather to dominate the world and get more control over what oil is left!
well.....................if the shoe fits...
you know the old saying. the majority rules and Obama will win.

The embryos that are thrown away, just
exactly what are they going to grow into being? I am not rooting for abortion here, just asking about these in vitro fertilization embryos that are tossed aside, I want to know, what are they going to grow into? And as far as me not reading enough, I have read plenty enough, enough to know they don't know if this research will come up with a cure or not, I guess that is why they call it research.
Volunteers being thrown out
When I first read your post, I thought the votes were being thrown out!
You only would have been thrown in jail
to pay what you owed. Haven't any of you known or heard of someone that made an error on their taxes? Are the all incarcerated? Geez.
Sorry to offend you, but if the shoe fits...

As I said, I am a normal woman, have three children, six grandchildren, and a husband who is a blue-collar worker.  As for stupid, this VP choice of McCain's is stupid.  Seriously, she has no credentials for being the leader of the USA in a time of war, in a time of major economical challenges.  Governor of Alaska?....mayor of a small town?....that's it?....  Why aren't you VP?  I am sure you have as much knowledge as she does.  She said she doesn't know anything about Iraq, although her son is going there, and said she doesn't know what a VP does.... Honestly, if I was governor of any state, I would not even ask "what does a VP do?"  I would go find out for myself.  Any drive to do her own investigating?  Any curiosity?  Do you seriously think she could be President of the US if something happens to John McCain?  America has far too many problems to gamble on a way too outside chance.

As for Obama's arrogance, that is something you heard and repeat like a mina bird.  Guess what?  There is arrogance in every one of these politicians, otherwise they would not be in the public eye.  I am constantly amazed at the stupidity of the American people, yes I am, and if that is arrogance, so be it.

As for Obama being arrogant, that is something YOU heard and repeat.

If the shoe fits...wear it!
There are an abundance of right-wing links posted on this forum with lies, smear tactics, shameful racist comments, and outrageous claims regarding Barack Obama. I have yet to see any of these types of links posted by liberals regarding John McCain. This has nothing to do with bias and has everything to do with fact!
i agree, but if the shoe was on the other foot
and anytime you posted something you got called wretch, a@@, snake, or the other names, and then it was to everything you were posting I think you'd get tired of it too. All I wanted was the insults to stop. Now it looks like I have to change my moniker to get it to stop.
I guess if the shoe fits
My post was meant to challenge the assumption that all midwesterners fit into the coastal stereotypes created for them as enumerated. However, if you choose to perpetuate that stereotype by taking my posting as an attack, thereby almost reinforcing the illiterate part (being literate is more than just reading words- it's understanding them, too), then, by all means, make us midwesterners proud.
Yes, let's post articles to mother's of military. So helpful. Geez. nm

Does Fox ever say anything nice or true or helpful to repubs and dems alike? nm
nm
Absolutely right, Clinton was not thrown out
but you whining Reps cried because he lied about a BJ....ohhh my, how freakish, how awful, it might endanger what?  But now we have a moron who is lying about even the simplest details, waging war, not at all a statesman, blowing OUR freedoms willy-nilly, the WORST president ever, anywhere on this globe.  A complete idiot! and you fall for his crap hook, line and sinker.  Shame on you!  To give your rights, your liberties, your freedoms, your loyalties to the likes of him, or anyone for that matter, a moron with moronic ideas! and no sense of history.  If he had a sense of history, he would have NEVER invaded Iraq.  Who is the coward?  The one who says talk first, or the one who says take my freedoms, anything to be safe?  Our forefathers looked down a barrel of a gun for YOUR freedom, Bush did not even do his SAFE Reserve time!  He makes me physically ILL.
You could've fooled me. Must have been thrown
nm
Doing spell checking on others can get you thrown off
I don't use spell check here and I definitely do not correct other's errors, see them all the time but know better than to do for the above reason. When you pay my check, then take note of any errors, ok?
Well, maybe the little bald guy whacking his shoe on the table was right....
"You will be taken over from the inside with no one firing a shot."
Wow, they squeezed every Democratic talking point in that article. Congrats. How is this helpful?

Clinton was thrown out of the white house
think you better check your so-called facts.
Thrown Away Flags Story False

Days before the anniversary of September 11, on the same morning that John McCain and Barack Obama released a joint statement pledging to avoid politics in light of the anniversary of the terrorist attacks, McCain's campaign accused Democrats of throwing away 12,000 American flags.

"The campaign says the flags were recovered from Invesco Field after the Democrats concluded their convention there," Fox News reported, "and they are going to be used as part of the warm-up ceremonies before McCain takes the stage" for a rally in Colorado Springs, Col.

But according to a senior official involved in organizing the Democratic convention, the McCain camp is simply lying about the flags.

"All of the flags at Invesco were picked up and put in bags and into storage, along with the unused flags and campaign signs. The flags were going to be donated, and the signs were going to be sent out to be used elsewhere," the official said, speaking anonymously since he was not authorized to talk to the press.

Fox News' Carl Cameron and Bonney Kapp reported that they had "been told" that "a vendor at Invesco Field found the flags, which were going to be thrown out, and turned them over to the McCain campaign."

The Democratic convention official says that's not true.

"It's pretty reprehensible on their part," he said. "Someone made an assumption, took the flags, and essentially lied about what was going to happen to them. I mean, c'mon, we were never ever going to throw out flags."

Emails to three McCain spokespersons inquiring where the flags were found and how the McCain campaign obtained them were not returned.

UPDATE: DNC spokeswoman Karen Finney issues a statement: "American flags were proudly waved by the 75,000 people who joined Barack Obama at the Democratic Convention. John McCain should applaud that, but instead his supporters wrongfully took leftover bundles of our flags from the stadium to play a cheap political stunt calling into question our patriotism. On the same day he agrees to join Barack Obama at Ground Zero on September 11, John McCain attacks the patriotism of Obama supporters who so proudly waved the American flag at our historic event in Denver just days ago."

Mercy me honey, the facts were thrown
out to ya left and right all over the place before the election and those like yourself just turned a blind eye; why bother now? Closed minded people just choose to stay that way......they can't get past O loving selves.
Those are just bones thrown in hoping to pacify

some us who smell something foul.  Charges "can" be filed against him again.  And for now he is "still in custody."  Pretty soon, Gitmo will be closed and they won't have sufficient evidence to refile charges and they will say they have no choice but to release him...

That's my prediction.

Yeah, and Bill Clinton should have been thrown out

Some one stop this woman from shoe shopping and spinning...sm
First of all, other than the obvious damage control (spinning) Ms. Rice is doing, what are the comparisons of Iraqi War to America's Civil War?? Second, isn't her not my department response to Katrina just the biggest taletell sign that it is time for her and her boss to go?
--------------
Condi uses Civil War to slap Iraq critics

Secretary of State Rice compared the Iraq war with the American Civil War, telling a magazine that slavery might have lasted longer in this country if the North had decided to end the fight early.

I'm sure there are people who thought it was a mistake to fight the Civil War to its end and to insist that the emancipation of slaves would hold, Rice said in the new issue of Essence magazine.

I know there were people who said, 'Why don't we get out of this now, take a peace with the South, but leave the South with slaves?' Rice said.

Rice also bristled at the notion that the Bush administration's slow response last year in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was because of the race of the majority of the victims.

I resented the notion that the President of the United States, this President of the United States, would somehow decide to let people suffer because they were black, Rice told the magazine.

I found that to be the most corrosive and outrageous claim that anybody could have made, and it was wholly and totally irresponsible.

Asked if she felt personally accountable, Rice said, The government did its best. People aren't perfect, and this response was not perfect. You know, I do foreign policy, I don't run Homeland Security. I don't run FEMA. I do foreign policy. She added, I did what I could to coordinate the international response.

Berg Lawsuit Thrown Out - Case Closed
Judge rejects Montco lawyer's bid to have Obama removed from ballot

By MICHAEL HINKELMAN
Philadelphia Daily News

hinkelm@phillynews.com 215-854-2656
A federal judge in Philadelphia last night threw out a complaint by a Montgomery County lawyer who claimed that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was not qualified to be president and that his name should be removed from the Nov. 4 ballot.

Philip J. Berg alleged in a complaint filed in federal district court on Aug. 21 against Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission, that Obama was born in Mombasa, Kenya.

Berg claimed that the Democratic presidential standardbearer is not even an American citizen but a citizen of Indonesia and therefore ineligible to be president.

He alleged that if Obama was permitted to run for president and subsequently found to be ineligible, he and other voters would be disenfranchised.

U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick had denied Berg's request for a temporary restraining order on Aug. 22 but had not ruled on the merits of the suit until yesterday.

Obama and the Democratic National Committee had asked Surrick to dismiss Berg's complaint in a court filing on Sept. 24.

They said that Berg's claims were "ridiculous" and "patently false," that Berg had "no standing" to challenge the qualifications of a candidate for president because he had not shown the requisite harm to himself.

Surrick agreed.

In a 34-page memorandum and opinion, the judge said Berg's allegations of harm were "too vague and too attenuated" to confer standing on him or any other voters.

Surrick ruled that Berg's attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were "frivolous and not worthy of discussion."

The judge also said the harm Berg alleged did "not constitute an injury in fact" and Berg's arguments to the contrary "ventured into the unreasonable."

For example, Berg had claimed that Obama's nomination deprived citizens of voting for Sen. Hillary Clinton in November. (Berg backed Clinton in the primaries.)

Berg could not be reached for comment last night.

Obama was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961, and the campaign posted a document issued by Hawaii on its Web site, fight thesmears.com, confirming his birth there.

Berg said in court papers that the image was a forgery.

The nonpartisan Web site FactCheck.org examined the original document and said it was legitimate.

Further, a birth announcement in the Aug. 13, 1961, Honolulu Advertiser listed Obama's birth there on Aug. 4.

Tests can be thrown, college admissions bought and sold
Since when can IQ be extrapolated from SAT test scores? I'd appreciate a source citation so I can read up on that, unless you are going on those lame IQ test websites that have assigned W, O and Michelle's IQ all at 125. Fact is, brilliant people have been known to score low on SAT for a variety of reasons so that argument is not terribly convincing.

I'm going strictly on such measures as butchery of his native tongue, i.e., inability to form more than monosyllabic 6-word sentences without a teleprompt or cue cards, how challenged he is to complete a whole thought and his dependence on behind-the-scenes heavyweights to engineer his campaigns and run his presidency, just to name a few.

W was denied admission to St. John's Academy (HS) and UT School of Law. This does not happen for no reason. His distinguishing accomplishment at his Dad's alma mater was joining the secret society of the Skull and Bones brotherhood. I'm a firm believer that strings were pulled on his behalf (as they were on so many other occasions) to get him into the ivy league track, unlike Obama, who did it the old-fashioned way (scholastic achievement) when he transferred to Columbia and was ultimately admitted to Harvard, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Bush does have an impressive record of failing at almost everything he every tried to do before (and after) his political career: In abstentia service in the National Guard, bombed election bid for the Texas House of Representatives in 1978, and an oil company that went bust which he left under a cloud of suspicion of insider trading. He did manage to capitalize on his 5-year dalliance with the Texas Rangers baseball team (could't really call what he did there REAL work) just long enough to get good name recognition for his run for gov and make a profitable sale of his shares in the team.

This less than stellar performance was totally eclipsed by the multitude of screw-ups while in office, way too much to get into in the confines of this forum. Bottom line for me is that his behavior and performance is very uninspiring, less than mediocre and not at all suggestive of much in the way of creativity or intellect....in other words, the polar opposite of the O. Hence the statement, IQ is good for the country. The wisdom angle was somebody else's attempt to side-step the issue of W's stupidity.

Bill O'Ego is SO desperate to get his "religious" viewers riled up so they will unite and vote repub.  Last night, he was outraged (he and Hannity have so overused that emotion) because a Catholic church in San Fran did not respond with hatred and/or violence when two people presented to church in outlandish outfits to receive communion.  The film shows them standing in line quietly and receiving the wafer and walking away.  O'Ego felt it was a great ATTACK on his religion and felt that this should be BIG-BIG news. Claims the media is covering it up.  He said if HE had been there . . . well . . . you know what a big he-man he is  . . . It is obvious he is trying to divide people.  According to my reading, jesus said turn the other cheek, and love one another. Ann Coulter then appeared and they discussed how she was so innocent and being attacked.  Oh me brothers . . . .

Incidentally, Mike Huckabee has a new show on Fox, too.  It's also on today, at 7 PM, CST.  The first one last week was really good.
