This lame scare tactic is aimed at

In Reply to: I came across this scripture today when I was studying. These are the words of Jesus Christ - Lu

twisting both the free choice of English language usage and the Bible verse/word of Jesus (who you claim is your Savior) to support the claims of a snarky cult. Back in the Puritan times, that was considered blasphemy and the ONES who chose to do this could be burned at the stake.

You make me ashamed to be associated with the Christian faith.

I think Palin IS a scare tactic. She & her fellow
believe in FREEDOM.

Freedom of Speech.
Freedom of/from Religion.
Freedom of Association.
Pursuit of Happiness.

Marching in lock-step with America's religious Nazis somehow just doesn't fit with what our forefathers had in mind when they wrote the Constitution.

All "neocons" are liars.  It has to be true because they say so.  They don't know what neocon means.  It's a catch phrase they hear in the liberal media and they think they are being cool using it.
Maybe not, democrat, but the one below this by gt was aimed at vs.
and it was typical gt.
Not aimed at "just anyone."

Bin Laden got what he aimed for.....
economic ruin...........GW played right into his hands...........4 more years, 4 more years, yeah!!!! RUIN!!!!!! McSame even has a cheerleader to inspire the masses.....
that's what this postponement was aimed for,
no Palin / Biden debate.  A complete meltdown of the GOP in 2008.
Not a tactic, just scripture. Take it or leave it.

And you are the one shaming Christianity -- if you truly claim to be one.

Guilt by association tactic is tired, did nothing
In a democracy, even communists are allow to have their own perceptions. It is good news that Sam will be putting time-consuming research into overdrive. Poor pubs. Plain to see they are spinning themselves into the ground. Spin, baby, spin. Nothing you can say will change the fact that the DNC was a phenomenal success and the RNC is a dud so far, plagued by disappearing speakers, scandal and damage control.
The favorite tactic of the left....you have nothing substantial...
attack and belittle. Don't even realize how it reflects on them...or don't care.

Exactamundo, JTBB. A diversionary tactic
The Republicans have embarrassed and humiliated themselves so much over this past year, it's no wonder they now want to divert attention.

I am just shocked and embarrassed by the way the Republicans (and MOST posters on this board) have been behaving over the past year. It is disgusting and juvenile and THEY are the ones making all of us look stupid as a nation.

I wish the sore losers would just shut up and let President Obama do his job. They had their turn. They blew it. Now they have to wait at least another 7-1/2 years. SO BE QUIET and be real Americans for once in your life, okay? You are embarrassing the whole country!
Glenn Beck:Obama's budget a loaded weapon aimed at you.
By Glenn Beck
Host, “Glenn Beck“

Hello America,

If you had any doubt that we were on “The Road to Socialism,” President Obama’s just released budget should clear up that confusion. In fact, we’re so on The Road to Socialism that Barack Obama’s budget reads like he went to MapQuest and printed out turn-by-turn directions to get us to socialism as quickly as possible. So far, President Obama is really making a big scary mess of things and this budget is a giant step in the wrong direction.

Believe me–I understand that I’m not the only one who feels this way. But there have been lots of times in my career when I felt like I was all alone in my thinking (and that’s exactly why I’m having my “We Surround Them” event on March 13th…so you know that you’re not alone –click here for more details). So it’s always comforting for me when I hear others saying the same thing. Just this past weekend on “FOX News Sunday,” host Chris Wallace asked Arizona’s Republican Senator Jon Kyl, “How big a change in direction does the Obama budget represent in the relationship between government and the American people?” Without missing a beat, Senator Kyl quoted The Wall Street Journal by saying, “The budget represents a historical shift in the ideological direction of U.S. economic policy.” No mincing words there. Then he reminded everyone that The Wall Street Journal also stated in an editorial that President Obama is attempting to expand the role of government to such a dominant position that its power can never be rolled back. A respected United States Senator and The Wall Street Journal–oh, I like that company. (Too bad we’re all agreeing on how bad things are getting.)

Here are some of the budget’s broad strokes:

* Obama’s budget takes the size of our government to the largest it’s been since World War II.
* It’s got a $1.4 trillion tax increase in it (and oh yeah–we’re in the middle of a recession).
* It doubles the debt in eight years.
* It never balances the budget and proposes that, for the next 10 years, our deficits are at a record high.

Hmmm. Usually I like to frame things in a “good news / bad news” context. That just won’t work here, but I don’t want to be a big downer. So let me put on a happy face and say that all the above was merely the regular, garden-variety bad news! Now here comes the super awful really bad news:

* Like a loaded weapon, this budget is aimed directly at you.

Is there a quicker way to end a honeymoon period for a new president than to propose a bunch of new taxes? It’s going to take a lot of serenading from Beyonce to make people forget about having less money…especially in this economy. See, not only is there a proposed huge tax increase for the energy and manufacturing sectors (and those get passed on to everyone), but overall tax rates are going up. All this is a real gut shot for small business. What too many people fail to remember is that small business is big business in America–over 70% of all American business is done by a small business. That means it’s likely that you either own or work for one, so President Obama wants more of your money (and I’m guessing it’s not like you have a whole lot extra lying around these days.)

And then there’s Obama’s suggestion of a “long-term investment in the economy.” That’s a fancy way of saying “increased spending.” (You don’t exactly need a decoder ring to figure that one out.) Another $30 billion for AIG…after they paid out six and seven figure bonuses and recorded the highest quarterly loss ever–over $60 billion–in U.S. history? How deep can our pockets be expected to be? Remember–every dollar the government “invests” in failing businesses is one of your dollars. If you had a stock broker who made the kind of crappy investments Washington has been making (and wants to make more of), you’d have fired them long ago.

This really isn’t that new a story–Democrats have a reputation of taxing and spending because, well…they always tax and spend. President Obama tries to soften his budget’s blow by stating that the tax increases don’t kick in until 2011. Um, Mr. President? It’s not exactly like 2011 is off in the sci-fi future where we’ll all have flying cars and live the life of George Jetson. Just like you need to plan ahead for re-election, small business owners need to do the same thing–plan for their future. So congratulations–now they’re doing that by bracing themselves for the tax avalanche coming their way in just a little over a year and a half from now. So instead of fueling the economy now–when we need it–business will tighten its belt and lower today’s bottom line in preparation for tomorrow’s new taxes. That lowers tax receipts! Instead of getting better, things get worse. Even I get that, and I’m the alcoholic rodeo clown.

Is it Election Day, 2012 yet?
you are the lame one
No, my dear, you and all of your pro-war, pro-Bush cohorts are lame and have no conscience.  If you did, you would be wanting to get our brave military out of harms way and out of the hell hole Bush created call Iraq.  You and your neocon buddies are the lame ones and history will show you were wrong so deadly wrong..Go ahead, keep defending and backing up that jerk in the WH..You are becoming a sad laughing stock of this country and the world.  Remember only approximately 38% back his so wrong, immoral, uncivilized, illegal, hateful war..For pete sake, his approval rating is lower than Nixon's was when he was dealing with Watergate..Havent your neocons gotten the picture yet?  Your boy is hated around the world and more and more Americans are seeing him for what he is..a hateful, spiteful, vindictive, grudge holding, never admitting he was wrong, never saying he is sorry, low IQ warmonger chickenhawk.

nm
Oh please, not another scare
The chance he could live well past his presidency is a possibility too.
How lame you are
If you would spend half as much time educating yourself as you did quoting definitions you might actually learn something. Talking about devoted to opinions, I believe you would be speaking about yourself. All the O supporters on him think ONLY their opinions and conclusions matter. They have NO facts to back up anything they say, only listening to their little TV set and repeating what they hear.

Why do you confuse prejudice with facts? If this were a white man running, you couldn't care less. But believe it or not, I don't really care. This man has spent so much time with terorrists in this country, continued his relationship with them AFTER and BEFORE he knew of their associations, and still tries to defend them.

He began racial baiting from the onset of his campaign, going down to Selma and running his mouth and making a fool out of himself. Blabby on and on about the march is the reason his mom and dad got togeher and had little Obama, Jr. I guess he thought everyone in Selma are dumb folks that don't now his age or when the march actually took place!!
He wasn't even born when the march took place. He was born 4 years later. He is a race baiter and has been from the get go. He has made sure he hits little towns like Selma, thinking all blacks will love him. I got news for you. Many blacks laughed at him when he said that and were not happy that he was using that trying to play into their good graces. They were offended that he thought they were so ignorant they would fall for that one.
Maybe you have insufficient knowledge, which is obvious and why you seem to feel you need to bring definitions into this, but friends in my neighborhood, who are black, were there and said they felt he was pandering to them as if they had no sense at all, as if he needed to tell them who to vote for 'cause they might make the wrong decision if left on their own.

Maybe you don't care the people he associated with are terrorists with no remorse and preachers who spew hatred, bigotry, racism, but I do. Maybe you should be more concerned with his bigotry and racism, if you dare!

Just because I have facts to back up this and you can't refute it, don't call me all the little names you sit and think up.

Anyone with half a brain knows ACORN is racist. Why do you think they encourage the people they sign up to vote for Obama and not to mention all the corruption they have already been in trouble for and indicated to boot.

Believe what you want and maybe he'll lead you to the promised land. I care more about this country than what you think with all you yammering.

Oh please - this is so lame
Bush is not the decider. Bush is an id!ot. I wasn't saying in my previous post that he isn't. Bush is bought and paid for by the people above him (the same ones that bought and paid for Clinton and the same ones who have bought and paid for Obama). All that the President does is get out and give speeches (the ones he is told to). He does not write his own speaches and he does not make any decisions (which is good because he's a complete whacko). But the hatred towards him is so evident.

Why do you keep saying the buck stops at Bush's desk, it does not. He does not supply our troops with clean/dirty water. He doesn't even know where they get it from and he doesn't care.

The commander in chief is only a talking head. They make no real decisions (except those they are told to).

Once again, it would serve those well to stop bashing Bush for every single problems going on on this planet and go to where the true source is. Bush/Cheney have no input.

The hatred has gotten way out of hand and you remind me of the guy in the movie the Matrix that says "ignorance is bliss".

That is like, so totally lame. nm

Yes, they scare the holy
and I consider myself a Christian. I just don't see the Christian in a LOT of what these people advocate. Looks, smells, and feels more like a political power grab.

This is a good one:

Bush and the Bible: A Letter to George Bush

Dear President Bush,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you and understand why you would propose and support a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. As you said in the eyes of God marriage is based between a man a woman. I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination... End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev.21:20 states that I may ! not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle- room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

then again, they ALL scare me - all the candidates

very lame logic; and she never said only.

Lame logic??????
If it's lame logic that I have listened to ALL candidates and decided for myself based on what they have said without regard for the media take, the political party affiliation, gender or color, then so be it.  By whatever means you have made YOUR decision, I assume you don't consider your logic lame and I certainly will not put you down for coming to a conclusion that differs from mine.

What a lame excuse
To bash someone. She lost, get over it. She didn't use her kids as props. If so then so did obama and Biden (his grandkid that he clung to his chest every time the camera was on him). Now that's what I call a prop if I ever saw one. Sheesh!!!!

Her daughter is not in politics. Leave her alone. And you should be ashamed as even Obama himself during the campaign said if you want to discuss him or Biden, Sarah or John that's one thing, but leave the family's alone.

You really can't get over her can you? News flash - She lost, she's gone. Time to move on with your life and live in the present day and looking forward to what tomorrow (and 2012) brings. Isn't it the Obama people that keep saying to look ahead and stop living in the past?

Here's another news flash. Bristol Palin and her boyfriend and their baby are not in politics. Take the idol gossip and gloating to the gab board.
You don't even know who organized what.....such lame
BTW an architect organized the NY tea party! Ya know, an educated hard-working man who made his own way..... are you aware of how that actually works?!
Will Palin Scare the Jews?
We think the conventional wisdom, now, is that Sarah Palin is a cynical appeal not to Hillary voters but to the Republican "base," which means religious white people. It's a last-ditch effort to win just one more with George W. Bush's coalition, not to bring in those moderates John McCain supposedly appeals to most. But here's the risk: the old, conservative Jewish vote McCain's had in the bag since day one? They might not like this lady so much. As you can see in this clip (attached below), even Ben Stein—the Nixon speechwriter so happy to pretend to be something other than an educated East Coast elitist that he'll hop in bed with creationists—is insulted and shocked by the Palin pick. This is just the beginning. The New York Sun, that probably doomed organ of intellectual Zionist conservatism, seemingly also can't quite believe this selection. Allow them to tell you about Sarah Palin's grand plans for The Jews!

The disclosure that last month Governor Palin's church hosted the executive director of Jews for Jesus, who told congregants that violence against Israeli Jews is God's punishment for their failure to accept Jesus, is going to be the next club that Mrs. Palin's leftist critics pick up against her. The Jewish Telegraphic Agency quotes Mrs. Palin's pastor at Wasilla Bible Church, Larry Kroon, as saying that he doesn't believe Jews for Jesus are deceptive. "Look at Paul and Peter and the others — they were Jews and believed in Jesus as the messiah," he told JTA. "There's gentile believers and there's Jewish believers that acknowledge Jesus as messiah. There's Swedish believers."

They go on to half-assedly defend Palin by mentioning Jeremiah Wright and how there's no "religious test" for the presidency, but the Jews For Jesus are far outside the mainstream even for practicing evangelicals. Jewish Defense League Anti-Defamation League [I do know the difference! Whoops!] head Abe Foxman is pretending it's not a big deal by invoking the Spanish Inquisition (done by Catholics, not Protestants!) but his own organization has a longer, richer history of warning people about the deceptive and offensive tactics of the Jews for Jesus.

Sarah Palin's Jews for Jesus setting up shop in Wasilla, Alaska almost reminds us of Michael Chabon's charming The Yiddish Policeman's Union, his detective novel set in an alternate universe in which Americans settled Jewish WWII refugees in Alaska and Israel died before it was born. The incongruous idea of a Jewish settlement in far-off Sitka gives the book much of its uneasy atmosphere, especially in the mentions of the current fictional President of the US, an evangelical Christian promising to finally kick those Jews out of the pristine frontier, "pledging to restore Alaska for Alaskans, wild and clean."

The Democrats more or less handed Florida over to the Republicans when they selected (sorry, we'll say it) a black man without a rich history of pro-Israel hawkishness (even though he saw the light and came around pretty dam quick). This, though, might actually put it back in play.

More like a voice of scare tactics.

That was a truly lame comeback to this thread.

T How Lame Are You/What a Joke RE: Racism

Where to start? I simply presented a logical argument predicated on definitions the original poster was obviously unfamiliar with. So far, there is nothing in this current post that even begins to address the challenge to show what part of that "dense" post was not prejudiced, bigoted and racist, seeing as how there is no proof presented here to back up these tiresome wild-eyed accusations.
I was 15 years old when the March on Washington occurred. My mom was a political junkie, a trait that I began exhibiting at around age 12, since I admired her so much...the same way that Obama obvious admired his own mother. So I began paying attention to the civil rights movement when they desegregated my school when I was around 11. You see, down South, they were a bit slow to comply with Brown vs the Board of Educaton..and in my state, they fought tooth and nail all the way up into the early 70s before complying with the order.
I also paid attention to all things racial, because I came from what would be considered an elite, privileged background and was raised by 2 black women (maid and nanny) and a black man (gardener) who were employed in my Highland Park, Dallas Texas household (BUSH country). Back then, it was not considered "fashionable" for the wealthy to do "hands-on parenting." So, I know a thing or two about racism, bigotry and prejudice first hand. I never understood why those 3 kind, wise souls (who I loved more than anyone else in the world and every bit as I loved my own parents) were treated so horribly every time we were out in public. Consequently, I took an avid interest in the civil rights movement at the tender age of 12, began reading everything I could get my hands on regarding the subject. At age 16, I started becoming active in those movements.
Now, these facts are for you. Obama was born in 1961. The march on Washington occurred in August of 1963. The Selma to Montgomery march occurred in 1965. Those marches were not exactly spontaneous events, but rather were a culmination of years of work and organization, and Obama's "blabby" in Selma abouthis parents is perfectly chronologically consistent, unlike your LAME attempt to educate me.
Beyond that, I refuse to address this racial diatribe. I learned at an early age to DESPISE racists and have very little to nothing to do with them. I will, however, confront racism whenever I see it, without fail. Over these last 5 decades, I have developed a keen sense that enabled me to sniff out the stench of racism 1000 miles away. You, dear, are a consummate prejudiced, bigoted racist and as such, have absolutely no credibility no matter how vehemently you doest protest.
One more thing. Prejudice, bigotry and racism is an anachronism that belongs buried far back in that shameful chapter of our history and is definitely a huge part of what kind of change voters are seeking in this election...the goal being to march forward, not backwards. I for one will be on that march forward until the day I take my last ragged breath.

Just more scare-tactics propaganda. nm
.
More scare tactics...just in a rhyme!
Go Obama!
C'mon, GP.....maybe not scare tactics....
maybe honest concern. Just because Obama won, you think that all disappears? Of course not. Had Obama lost, would all your concerns about McCain just magically disappear? I would think, based on your posts, you could be a little more charitable about it. Your guy won. Don't expect the rest of us to embrace him immediately. We have a trust issue and it is up to him to work his way out of that. Being sniped at by his supporters does not help us in that journey. :-)
They scare me, as well, on a very dangerous level.
