feel they HAVE to say they would vote for Obama for fear of being called racist. If that's the only way he gets into the White House then it's not a true win. He certainly isn't going to get in based on his stellar political career or experience. Flowery words, promises that can't be kept, keep the poor people poor and dependent on the government, screw the middle class and help out your fat cat friends.

Only in some Hollywood movies are people all good or all bad. I'm sure Chavez is capable some good or at least middle-of-the-road words/deeds. And I have to say that some stuff Chomsky has written pre-Iraq war was actually pretty good (now I said SOME stuff here, not ALL). It's very hard for me to give blanket condemnation of just about anyone (with the exception of serial killers, etc.).
It also occurs to me that you may possibly consistently hold up Chomsky, Churchill and now Chavez (the three C's) as examples of how the left is crazy. Well, I think most sane people know that they don't represent the vast majority of liberals. I think deep down you know that, too.

I cannot figure what ever caused you to
have such deep hatred for Republicans, especially President Bush. It certainly isn't anything he ever did as president as your posts indicate that your hatred for him began at his first inauguration. I also get the feeling that you will never be able to let it go, as you constantly bring it up in almost every post you make. The major difference between you two that stands out is that he is a Christian and you are an atheist. He does not believe in abortion and you chose to have one. Maybe you have a guilt problem that you are trying to overcome before you can move on?
However, I can't see how you can use your hatred for Bush to justify Obama speaking to the French town hall meeting and, essentially, telling the world that America is not special to him and that Europe is the greatest nation. How can you say that is doing an awesome job?

I have asked that this post be removed because it apparently was really upsetting to some people. While I normally don't post like I did below, I did it for what I had hoped would be a shock value, but it backfired on me. I had hoped that my shock value would be that it would get some people to understand my position, but that didn't happen. Therefore, I decided to ask the moderators to remove it.
I believe everyone knows my position on gay marriage and abortion as I have stated them numerous times on this forum, so I will try to refrain from responding to any posts involving those issues, at least whether as to whether they are right or wrong. Moral issues will always be that....moral issues...and are viewed through the individual's moral lens or compass. I cannot change any one's to match mine, nor can anyone change mine to match their's. Let's just leave it at that.

I am glad to say my property taxes are going down this year from over 2,000 to 800- well I have become old enough they believe I no longer have children in public school so am finally getting a break. My property assessment comes out really close to the end of the year so will have some bubbly later on to celebrate. Long time coming!
The present crisis was not caused by Bush or McCain...
both approached the Democrats a total of 4 times trying to get Fannie/Freddie regulated. We can't afford Reid, Pelosi, Dodd, Frank, AND a Democratic president. Whatever else Bush is or is not, he is NOT responsible for this current financial MESS.

If my memory serves me, it started going downhill when a democratic congress took over.
Not only that, this MORTGAGE crisis was set into effect by the CLINTON administration and helped by a DEMOCRATIC congress.

Hello?! 8 years of Bush cratered the country & caused this
nightmare in the first place. They are all frantically trying to keep us from another Great Depression caused by Bush & republican control. I personally think the damage runs so deep that it can't be stopped in time, but at least they're trying! Maybe next time the idiots will remember what Bush & his cronies have done & will be smarter than to vote republican...

And even though my property value went down in a blue state...
my taxes still went up. That's what goes on in a Democratic-controlled state. They sent my assessment that valued my home at $40,000--yes $40K less than last year and my taxes STILL went up. And you can bet property taxes in Washington are higher than those in Tennessee. I can't rent my home out for what my payment is, so each month, we lose money because we can't sell it with the housing market the way it is and did the right thing when we financed, by NOT financing a home we could not afford with an ARM. Luckily, we got a really good deal, so the house is still worth more than we paid for it, but not much and it doesn't really matter anyway because, like I said, we can't sell it. I think that I would be happy if your property values stayed the same, rather than falling.

Bin Laden himself said that when we rushed in, we had "tainted" Muslim soil and felt he had to retaliate. Of course, these are the ravings of a madman, but Bush policies directly inflamed the already hostile Taliban fighters. Also, the Bush and Bin Laden families have a long history in the business world, and the night of September 11th, the government made it pssible for Bin Laden family members in this country to flee and not face retaliation........please look it up in the newgroups, I have seen many amazing documentaries about these facts on Discovery, History Channel, Military Channel, and some of the news channels.

I'm about sick to death of every social ill being laid at the feet of smokers. I also have a big problem with lazy slobs who would rather mooch off the taxpayers than work but if they choose to spend their welfare on tobacco....or gambling....as many in this particular area do and go without food, that's their problem. Welfare is way out of hand. There is something wrong with the law that lets slobs get help they don't need and some elderly or truly diabled person can't qualify for any help because they have worked hard and have a few dollars in the bank. As far as I am concerned there was nothing wrong with the commodities that were issued instead of food stamps before the "new and improved" welfare program. Then they got what they needed to keep them alive and that was about it. So who changed the rules to allow the slobs to be able to buy all the good stuff while you have to skimp? You got it...politicians, Democrats AND Republicans.
If you're looking to either of these 2 candidates to change ANYTHING that will make it easier for you, or people like you, I think you're in for a real disappointment.

We have Muslim people in our church. They will be the first to tell you that are so glad to be out of the country where this is forced upon them. They will be the first to tell you the Q'ran does not speak of love one another, only love another Muslim. They will be the first to tell you that Westerners do not really know the full extent of the hatred that is taught to the men/sons. They will be the first to tell you they are so glad they learned there is really a God that says to love ALL, love your family members even if they are non-believers, and to love those that hate you. Islam does not teach that. You can yack on and on all you want but you can't show me anything verses that say otherwise. They more than you know the Q'ran back to back and will say it does not speak of love of others and to hate all; Jews, Christians, and nonbelievers.
Sadly, why do you assume those that have denounced Islam don't know their feelings of what they have been through more than you?
You immediately jumped to Christians. Why is that? There are those that have left countries where this is taught, do not accept Christianity, but have denounced what they were taught because it is hate.

I have to admit, I am really gloating here. Watching all those formerly red states turn blue.... that was amazing. 1. I am not going to decide if she is beautiful or not. That is not my place.
2. I see nothing with the way that she dresses because I have a couple of my sister's kids, who believe me gives me sleepless nights with their fashion sense, but I love them and I think they are the most beautiful people I have ever seen.
3. As a woman, I look in the mirror every day and find things that if I had a good platic surgeon and money.....need I say more? (I would be the nip/tuck queen)....lol but since I do not, then I take the alternative route in believing that I am beautiful (hubby helps by telling me how beautiful I am too even though I know that I am at least 40 pounds overweight).
4. When I look at the picture the only thing that comes to mind is that "she does look healthy" and I would like to find myself in that same position.
5. I suppose it is easy to find fault with others rather than find what is beautiful in someone, but I have NEVER did like the easy way of doing things. Have a good one folks.
