You and she should apply to serve on Michelle Bachmann's McCarthyesque

Posted By: Committe on UnAmerican Activities...sm on 2008-10-21
In Reply to: She is the only one left on there with - any morals, ethics,

so you can investigate dems in the Congress and Senate for unpatriotic subversion and help her define precisely what means to be and not to be an American and come up with some sort of homogenous morality that we can all follow. You two could be in charge of decency and common sense department.

Michele Bachmann the misunderstood" A trap was

Apologizing afer her democratic Minnesota 6th district opponent received nearly $1 million in contributions in the aftermath of her HUAC statement, delivered with heated fervor.  Might be more convincing if she weren’t trying to blame the guy who asked the question.  Republican National Congressional Finance Committee is pulling her ads and running for the hills.  Meanwhile, Tinklenberg ads will blanket the land after receiving additional backing from the Democratic National Congressional Finance Committee.  She stepped into something all right, but it doesn't smell much like a trap, an impressive maneuver considering she had her foot in her mouth.

Another republican congressional seat bites the dust.  That anti-American campaign rhetoric is working real well for them.
GOP Rep Michele Bachmann would like throw us back 60 years
un-American Activities Committee to investigate alleged anti-American sentiments and subversive agendas of House and Senate members.  Raise you hand if you want a republican committe to define patriotism, what it means to be an American and to institutionalize punitive measures for people who do not fall in line?
You and Michele Bachmann are free to draw and quarter me
No need indeed.
There are other ways to serve one's country
Some are big, and some are small. Just having a job, working hard and staying off welfare is one way. Being a legal immigrant and not an illegal one is another. Donating time and money to charities, philanthropic organizations (even the SPCA) are all little things that serve the greater good. Not committing crimes, voting in elections, working with the PTA, the local soccer team, or participating in 'cleanup day' in your town... those all count, too. I have the greatest respect and empathy for a man who served in the armed forces and suffered at the hands of the enemy. But that doesn't necessarily qualify him to lead the country in these particular times. In another time, perhaps. But not now. He's too old, his time is past, and his ideas (basically the same as Bush's, just painted over to look different) are outdated. They don't address the everyday problems this country and its people face today. His way has been tried, and it's not working very well. (Unless, of course, you breathe the rarified air of the wealthiest communities in the country.) Just about EVERYbody in the country needs a break, small & medium-sized businesses included, and there are ways to do that so that everyone benefits, and yet everyone pulls their fair share of the load.

If the everyday citizen of the country is doing better financially, and if big business is paying its share and not jumping through countless loopholes each tax season, then there's more money to support the country's infrastructure. We have potholed roads, rotting bridges, and our hospital emergency rooms are so overloaded with people with no health insurance, either there for their everyday care, or for the rash of gunshot casualties we have, that many of them have closed their doors.

So yes, it's time for a younger President and a fresh outlook, because what's gone on in the last decade or two has grown very, very stale.
At least he was brave enough to serve his country..
not like some politicians who dodge the draft.
Memory does not serve you correctly.
began long before the dems to control of Congress. Do some research before you spout your partisan blather. That is exactly what is wrong with this country and this board. You are too busy placing blame, whether deserved or not, to realize that you do not know the truth. You believe spin, not facts.

Look up Glass-Steagall, Gram-Leach-Blilley, toxic mortagages, and packaged derivatives if you really want to know how this began. If not, well continue to blather.

Don't bother to respond. I am not bothering to come back here. I thought this board would be different because it is MTs who use their brains for a living, but I guess MTs can be trolls too, as proven by a majority of the posts here. Luckily, I did find a board where, even though they disagree, they do so with logic, intelligence, and reason.

Good luck to you all. You are going to need it.

MOST people who serve in the military are
..
It will serve her well when she faces the pit bull on the other side...
can't wait.
Finding those Bachmann, US-style weath distribution and prayer request for O's GM
Hate-generating slurs don't blink an eye, even with Obama's last living elder relative on her death bed. Such class. And this would capture votes how?
The victim in a breakin is more likely to serve time than the theif
if they are shot in self defense in Alabama. Criminals have so many rights that if you shoot them in the back in your house you could be liable. If you shoot them and they fall out of your door, you could be liable. It's a joke.

As far as the child molesters, in a day and time of Jessica Lunsford and the Groene masacre, I don't see how a judge could let a child rapist walk with 60 days of jail time. He's dead wrong and the governer of Vermont needs to be the one to take the first stand to push for tougher laws so that judges can not skate on sentencing. It should be a mandatory 25 years for raping a child 12 and under, just like in Florida.
But how could that ever apply to MT, especially?
Almost everyone here is in the predicament of working harder and harder for less and less pay. There are only 24 hours in a day, and at least a couple of them have to be spent sleeping. Then what? Many people already working 2-3 jobs, because 1 job no longer pays the bills.
There is nothing that says you get to apply
the extra tax credit and use it toward your total tax bill. In your example where you come out ahead $3600, you do not get to apply that $3600 toward your taxes nor will you get a refund of that money.
No he did not apply for a job with the FBI.
However, if he were to apply, he would be turned down.  Every person trying to get a position with the FBI undergoes a background check.  Obama would not pass this background check.
They can APPLY -----
..."There is no legal prohibition against illegal immigrants owning homes," (Steven Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies) said, "and in most cases mortgage lenders will accept a taxpayer ID or a Matricula Consular card issued by a Mexican Consulate office as identification to illegal immigrants from Mexico."

Chad Buchanan, a manager at SaveMyHomeUSA - a group cooperating with the Obama administration that assists homeowners facing foreclosure - told WND illegal immigrants who own a home "could certainly apply under our program."

Where do I apply?
I have been in the MT field for 15 years - I have never met such hateful, backstabbing women in all my life (the last hospital I worked in was the WORST). I've worked inhouse and at home. I was a supervisor - in a hospital and at home. Even senior management were unbelievable. Cherry picking, cheating on lines, you name it, I've seen it. I don't believe this is the only field you will find this type of behavior........I was happiest when working with all men in another field. and NEVER have I seen an MT environment that encouraged its workers......it was all go, go, go, go, faster, faster, faster. I always treated my staff with fairness and respect and always went the extra mile for them. I had great staff and lousy staff. It has taken me awhile, but, I have to admit - I hate the MT field.
It may apply to your religion, but

it doesn't apply to the Constitution.

Are you suggesting that your religion should be the one that rules and that everyone else's spiritual/religious beliefs shouldn't count?

For example, I know some people who don't look at abortion as severely as you do because they believe that life doesn't end, that we merely pass on from one life to another, and that there really isn't any such thing as spiritual death, and that your body is just the "box" you come in but spirit lives on forever and continues to live in different "entities."

I know some people who don't believe in religion at all.

I know some religious people who believe that God gave us free will and technology to help us survive as best we can.

Not everyone is FORCED to believe the exact same religious beliefs that you do.  But the one document we all have in common and to which are are all bound is the Constitution.

I respect you enough as a person to respect and defend your personal religious beliefs.

Please return the favor.

Neocons need not apply
Will you argumentative conservatives please get off this board, for pete sake!
they don't even let you apply at McDonald's
how in the world can we make this man our next commander in chief???
Well, if he didn't apply just where
do you get your emphatic information?  I would certainly hope a background check would consist of FACTS, not political mumbo jumbo.
So how does it apply to Obama?
you might want to check out the "who put faith in what government post." Not interested in having to repeat myself.
Does this mean it's OK for us all to apply for benefits now?
nm
That would certainly apply to the entire MTStars
(Thumbs up.)
Well please don't apply one person's attitude to everyone - sm
I for one am very sad that his Grandmother passed away, particularly at this time in his life.

How is it possible that the Governor’s soon to be son-in-law is working as an apprentice on the North Slope?

The Governor, in trying to dispel rumors the father of her grandchild is a high school drop out, released this statement this week, “Levi is continuing his online high school work in addition to working as an electrical apprentice on the North Slope."

But federal regulations require any members of apprentice programs, union or otherwise, first obtain a high school diploma, something the Governor’s soon to be son-in-law, Levi Johnston does not have. Some apprentice programs even require the completion of high school level Algebra or the post secondary equivalent.

So how is it that the Governor’s soon to be son-in-law is working in an apprentice program? Is this another case of the Governor believing the law doesn’t apply to her?

Bo Underwood, who heads up ASRC’s electrical apprentice program, confirmed Johnston is indeed enrolled as an apprentice. Underwood claimed not to know whether a high school diploma is needed to be an ASRC apprentice and said he would check on it. But federal regulations clearly state a high school diploma is needed before entering an apprentice program. How is it the man who runs the program does not know that?

Underwood also claimed not to know whether there is a waiting list for the ASRC apprentice program he runs. Imagine that.

Rebecca Logan, executive director of Associated Builders and Contractors, an organization that also has an electrical workers apprentice program, says waiting lists almost always accompany apprenticeship programs. Her organization’s apprentice program has a waiting list of at least 100 people.

Bo Underwood promised to get back with me on how the Governor’s soon to be son-in-law got into the apprentice program.

The Alaska Standard has a call into the Governor’s office as well. We’ll let you know when we hear back from them on this issue.

And the part that would apply to issues other than abortion? (sm)
You might as well just go ahead and do away with the hippocratic oath.
How nice for you, but how does this apply to the political topic.....sm
Can you think outside of your own little special world? There are folk out here, like me, and so many others here, who are honestly trying to deal with U.S. economy, world economy, saving our country from financial disaster....wow, get your head out of your darling fortunate a$$, get off your hown head trip, stop trying to trump people, becaue you are not, and try to deal with the issues of others in this country.
Post where this link is. Doesn't apply anymore, don't think...sm
If it does, post the link to the rule
How about Michelle!!
She was great last night at the convention!!  I will be tuning in for the remainder of the convention.  I am so excited about this race!!  It is time for change!!
Michelle
Not only do I believe Michelle is racist but I believe her husband is as well. If you listen to him it's there even if you have to read between the lines.  My personal feeling is that it would be easier to deal with that than with McCain/Palin.  I will be the first to admit that I may be making a mistake because I do not want to see either of them in office.  Unfortunately, the Republicans on here will not even debate the issues they are so dead set for McCain/Palin.  The fact that some may say she is lacking in experience, which she is, doesn't bother me.  We might even be  better off with an outsider who had no political experience whatsoever but a large dose of common sense which Washington seems to be extremely short on..  Experience is not my problem with Palin.  She comes across to me as a simpering airhead.   What kind of common sense did McCain show when he picked her after having only met her one time and talked to her on the phone once.  Because he thought she would attract Hillary's woman voters.  Looks like he may have been right too.
And so he should....and Michelle should...
remiburse the tax coffers for her little private C130 ride from Paris to London for shopping. Won't hold my breath waiting on that check. It is somehow worse that he was using to meet his mistress than she was using it to go shopping?? BOTH WRONG.
Cindy is 54; Michelle is 44

here's what Michelle Obama says about the WHOLE PIE - please sm
This is what Michelle Obama had to say about the 'redistribution of wealth' (in keeping with the Global Poverty Act):

"The truth is most Americans don't want much. Folks don't want the whole pie. Most Americans feel blessed to thrive a little bit, but that's out of reach for them. The truth is, in order to get things like unviersal health care and a revamped education system, then SOMEONE IS GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE UP A PIECE OF THEIR PIE SO THAT SOMEONE ELSE CAN HAVE MORE."

And to accomplish this, she says:

"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is gong to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your division, that you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones, that you push yourselves to be better, and that you engage. BARACK WILL NEVER ALLOW YOU TO GO BACK AND LIVE YOUR LIVES AS USUAL, uninvolved, uniformed."

I'm sorry, but that thinking is more in line with the totalitarian governments of China, North Korea and Cuba. Last I looked, I was still living in America. I have the Constitutional right to succeed or fail according to my own abilities, and I staunchly support everyone else's right to do the same. (You know, that little something called 'the pursuit of happiness?)

But I don't want big government deciding I have 'enough' and handing it off to someone in another country who may not have their 'fair share.' I already pay taxes, tithe 10% to charities, volunteer at my local food bank, and shovel the sidewalk of the elderly couple next door. I think most Americans are doing this kind of stuff day in and day. Because WE CARE about one another.

If more of my money is being shipped overseas, how am I to help my own next door neighbor?

Michelle Obama

When you said that Michelle Obama "doesn't talk like a black woman," - how exactly do black women talk?  When you said that, it is so clear that you are racist.  I am sure you will have one heck of an explanation about what you meant, but I would rather hear how you think black women talk.

I really hope that Michelle will put on at her
next appearance 'some sleeves' at least, or maybe a jacket.
This dress is not only sleeveless, it is less than sleeveless.
Are all the events she attends sleeveless 'informal'?
GEESH, What is next? Michelle
Already has to show off her arms.
maybe this was what he promised Michelle
when he becomes president: A trip to New York and for the girls a doggie.
I see Michelle Obama
as an arrogant bitter black woman with a chip on her shoulder.  There is no beauty that I see.  Her kids are cute though.
Oh, yes. Absolutely. Both BO and Michelle
x
Who cares what Michelle Obama wants....
She was not even proud to be American majority of her life.

I think Obama and Michelle are racist!
.
I think Michelle/Obama are racist

And the McCain/Palin ticket have not/still continue to show racism?? The bottom line of all of the nasty hateful comments that I have seen on this board is that if  Barack Obama did not run for the President of this country, the majority of you whould't give a flying bobcat WHO he is. The number of hateful, bigoted, mean nasty comments I have seen on this board are more than enough to know that in 2008, hate, bigotry and racism have never died; it is displayed in subtle insidious ways - to any of those who care, it has been ONLY a little over TEN years since a black man was tied to the back of a pick up truck in Texas and dragged around so much he was dismembered..it is situations such as those which break my heart - a human being.  I will never understand it; and in this election the racism is extremely blatant. Not to mention the blatantly racist exhibition two white men decided to make money from - check You Tube under "Obama waffles" - look at how he is caricatured and then ask yourself WHAT is racist...

same here....I wonder what Michelle Obama thinks
she knows Biden does not care for her husband and has actually said he is not the man for the job of President. Boy, that must be a tense/false/forced smile when they get together.
Michelle Obama said don't believe the polls.
She said its too close to call right now.

Also there are over 11% who are still undecided.
What did you think about Michelle Obama's dress?
Just wondering
Actually, he and Michelle DID make these decisions.
This was made very clear with respect to the previous "giftgate" situation. You have to understand that Michelle Obama, in particular, is an angry woman who hates Great Britain for it's ancient role in the slave trade a few hundred years ago.
Michelle Malkin is great! You just cant
