Internet usage
From what I have read, their policy relates to donwloads, says it is equal to downloading 4 full-length videos per day before it is considered"excessive usage." I asked my employer about it and was told it would not affect us as all we do is exchange info with our servers. So unless you do a lot of actual dowloading, it should have no effect.
I HATE CELL PHONE USAGE TOO....sm

the bane of the world - that fricken fracken cell phone - one day I had to listen to a stranger describing the bowel habits of his dog....HATE THIS GADGET........

Not so much for those unemployed, but
maybe for people receiving government assistance in the form of Welfare, Medicaid, etc.
Unemployed Spouse

Is it possible he might be doing something behind your back and acusing you to justify something he has done.

Most of us on here aren't unemployed
But most of us are taxpayers and can see the cost of such a program. I won't even get into the infringements on personal rights. Unemployment is EARNED; the government has no right to try to find loopholes around preventing companies (think the Q here) from paying it out.

Looks like Comcast starts monitoring internet usage in October. Has anyone here ever been

contacted about excessive usage from Comcast.

A Lottery winner so we can be happily unemployed.

Unemployed husband driving me crazy sm

If my chair so much as squeaks, he has to open the bedroom door and see if I am really working.    If the phone rings, he picks up the phone in the bedroom to listen in.   This is getting way out of hand.

I asked him to stop doing this but he got really mad and said I should have nothing to hide.  I don't have anything to hide but he is really really working my last nerve!

I am about ready to flip out.

Did you get any answers from the thoracic doctor about your rib pain? I hope you were able to get a diagnosis of some kind and get some treatment planned.
No checking account. sm
I have a prepaid debit card I have my pay deposited onto and then pay bills from that or get money orders.  The only problem I have is if I get a check its hard to cash and I have to go to the issuing bank and they sometimes charge a fee to cash their own check.  Like National City charges $10 to cash a check drawn on their bank if you don't have an account with them.
Checking Your Man's History Because
In Internet Explorer web browsers:

To just check history, click on the top left area of the browser window where it shows a yellow star. You'll see three choices toward the top of that menu: Favorites, Feeds, and History. Click on History. You'll see everything stored there since the last time the history was cleared.

Now, if you want to set the computer to save the History longer than it's saving it already (for example, you don't see anything from last week, but you wish you could see it next week when you come back again...) Do this:

Top Right of your browser window, you'll see the word "Tools". Click on it, and there's a drop-down menu. Look at the very bottom of the menu, and you'll see the words "Internet Options" Click on that. You'll see a pop-up box with different stuff in it. The second one down is browsing history. Click on "settings" within that section and then look at the bottom of the new pop-up box. You'll see a thing you can set to choose how many days to store in history. Change that number to show however frequently you want to check his history. If you want to check his history once per week, set it to 10 days, to give yourself a little leeway in getting back to it.

If your Man is being sneaky and deleting his history, there isn't much you can do about that without installing Spyware on the computer. If the computer is his alone or provided through his employment, you're risking privacy laws to spy on him. If it's a family computer, then you're using it too, and you should have a right to view the history on it.
Making MY list and checking
I also made a list for my hubby. He is a sweetie, though and last year it was diamond ring, the year before diamond bracelet, the year before gold necklace and this year I made not only things for me but also things I wanted around the house. He bought me gold earrings, a bling watch and some snuggles for my feet (he says he has heard me say my feet get cold). Love that man with a passion!!
Yippee! Thanks for the links. Checking them out now.

My checking acct. is free....sm
I would never have a checking account that involved fees.  Even though some earn interest, it's only on balances above a certain amount.  However, I never have enough money to even meet those minimum balances.  I have what's called "Totally Free Checking" and it is totally free, except for having to buy checks when I need them.  Since my check is direct deposited, I get my $$ before those whose checks are mailed...not to mention the fees that go with cashing payroll checks.  So, I'll keep my checking account until I see a reason not to.
My checking account is free too. I pay
most of my bills on line through them--no fee for that either. Whenever I need checks, I order them from one of those places you see in ads in the Sunday paper. They are cheaper and with paying online, I have not ordered any in probably 4 years.
I've had my checking with WAMU for years -
I just called a couple of days ago and it was obvious their calls are now being answered overseas. It took so long for them to understand what I was calling about, I ended up just hanging up and doing it myself on line. I'm thinking of switching or at least complaining. It's a disappointment.

PayPal eCheck from my checking account

I know this has happened to somebody here before, I remember reading it.  This morning I woke up and checked my checking account to see what little I had left before pay day this Friday.  What I found was that somebody had taken $2420.00 from a PayPal eCheck, and now I am way in the negative.  The bank says it takes three to five, possibly up to ten days to dispute and make the account right.  That's just great. I have a direct deposit going in on Friday, and won't even be able to use that until who knows when.

What can be done, if anything, on my part?  Is there someway to make PayPal responsible for making the dispute happen faster?  I have no clue what to do and have absolutely no money until this dispute is over.  It did take the whole ten days about six months ago when I got double charged for something, so I already know it won't happen before pay day.  Maybe with this large sum of money they will expedite.  I can hope!

Okay, back to work for me.  Thanks.

Thanks for checking. I did try making my homemade version.
Not too bad.  Needs a little recipe tweaking, but not too bad.  I just made sure not to buy Folger's instant coffee for the recipe

He has been drug tested....
for his job. I don't think that drugs or alcohol are involved.  We have considered it, but I just don't think that it the problem.  I certainly would never let him drive with my son if I was unsure.  I just don't know what it could be.  It would take a book to write down all of his issues.  The sad part is that his father dismisses it all because he does well in school and he is premed, but he just lacks any sort of personal character.  Being smart does not make you a good person and he is just not a good person.  I am still so sick to my stomach about this.  I feel like I am a bad person, having mothered this kid for 13 years and now I am just ready to wash my hands of him.  I am dead serious about that and it makes me ill.  I pray to God that I don't ever have these feelings about my son.

tourists getting caught up in the middle, not to mention how dangerous it can be even without a drug war going on... is it REALLY worth the risk? We have plenty of beautiful beaches right here in the U.S., and why not spend your tourism money to help out our own ailing economy. It is much better to be safe than sorry. JMO...
This drug testing is going too far - sm
I don't do drugs and I do know that there is a huge drug problem in America but turning around and testing for drugs for every single thing is going a bit far. Not everyone who is unemployed does drugs. In fact I can bet the people who are unemployed are probably using the money for basic necessities of daily living (food, shelter, electricity).

My dad (72 years old) is collecting unemployment and if he had to take a drug test to get his check that would be horrible. He's the most honest decent human being I know of.

A lot of people who collect unemployment don't do it because they want to, they do it because they have to. A lot of them are going through depression and then to turn around and have to take a drug test like they are criminals?...well why not treat them like crap more and add to the depression they are already going through.

Think this is just another way for government to take control and it is not a good idea. Usually the people who are for others being tested are church goers who think they are "holier than thou".

Bad idea.

Hate making a mistake on my checking account!

I typically write only 1 check a month (for my rent/water) and everything else is paid online or with my ATM/Visa card.  I checked my balance this morning and thought, yeh! I can go get a latte!  So off I went, spent $3.57 on a coffee and on the way home remembered something -- I wrote a check last week to the DMV for this year's registration/tag and I wasn't sure if it had cleared my bank.  Got home, checked my balance and guess what?  The outstanding check has NOT cleared and now the balance in my checking account is 1 penny short of clearing that check!  Too late to go put in a couple of dollars for it to be posted tonight in case the check comes through

Y'all keep your fingers crossed with me that the check won't come through tonight, or if it does my bank will be forgiving and not charge me $35 to cover that extra penny I'm short on    That would be some expensive latte!!!

I had to go get drug tested today for my - sm
bus substitute driver job; they provided the car for us to go the clinic. Apparently they normally take the white car, but today we took the red car because the white one was being held as they found drugs in it last week. Kind of funny as it is a county car used only by the school employees; and mainly to go to drug tests. How un-smart is that? They still don't know who is the guilty party as the car had more than normal traffic in it last week. Guess they will figure it out though, I bet everyone that has been in that car for the last 2 weeks is getting drug tested; if you test positive you are immediately fired.
Try the company that makes the drug.
We got on a plan for my son through the company and he gets his meds free (Concerta) for at least the next year.
The 100K came way after the drug charges
The arrest came say 15 or 20 years before the 100K and the way they spend their money that $100K probably not around too long.
Has anyone ever been on Clomid - or any other fertility drug? sm
DH and I are having fertility issues and the doc has put me on Clomid but I have yet to get a positive ovulation stick (the kind you pee on), and I am getting frustrated.  Has anyone ever been on this?
A drug bust! Well there is no telling
what kind of life that dog had. That is very sad. You know, I had to admit but I use to be one of those people that said oh no a pitbull! They are mean, they will turn on you, but that all changed when I got a little pitbull puppy years ago that changed me. My pitbull taught me the true meaning of Don't believe everything that you hear, and only believe half of what you see.
Help on upgrading drug reference

Hi all,

I am seriously in need of upgrading my drug reference. I am still using Quick Look electronic 2004 and so many new drugs have been introduced in the past 4 years.  What would you recommend??  I just checked the Stedman's site and really cannot afford that kind of money right now.  Do any of you recommend a hard copy book that would keep me updated???  Thank you for any suggestions.

Can we drug-test the Senators too?
I don't think connecting unemployment benefits to drug-testing is a good idea. In fact, I don't think drug testing should be random at all. I think it should be reserved for cases that are on a need-to-know basis. And no, I have never used drugs, never tried them. It's a matter of civil liberties and constitutional rights against invasions of our privacy. Next thing you know, they'll be testing us for lipid levels after we're seen frequenting a house of trans-fats.

And while we're on the topic, decriminalizing drugs would go a long way toward reducing drug-related crimes. Nothing is perfect in this discussion though because drugs really are evil. It just becomes a matter of damage control.
I have taken many drug tests for many jobs...
and never felt like a criminal. It is just the way things are. I would far rather have drug users weeded out of medical positions, welfare and unemployment than to not take the test. I don't know why anyone who does not use drugs would feel humiliated by taking a test. Just my opinion.
I just keep checking my line count and adding up my money. Great job.

Transfer your banking business to a free checking account
Washington Mutual Compass Bank, and many others offer completely free checking accounts. There’s no reason you should be paying maintenance and annual fees for a checking account.
That is what drug addicts and gold diggers do, unfortunately :(

I think you do have to go all out. A therapist and drug screen would be first priority nm

Talk to the maker of the drug in question. sm
Many drug companies have what they call "Indigent Programs". Don't let the name put you off. It is for people who cannot afford their medications and need them to live.

I worked in a urology office and the cheme seeds for prostate cancer cost approx. $1700.00 a month. The company had a program for the guys who couldn't afford it, the guys who had insurance that would only pay a miniscule amount, etc.

I had that problem when I was unemployed and my anti-depressants cost over $500 a month. The company that made them had a program such as that and it saved my sanity.

Look into it. You are only out the time it takes to fill out a form. Some of these are also income based, but please, don't let the name put you off. It is well worth the time you invest.

Good luck.
Imagine that men are checking me out? Hardley the case! Starved for attention? Nope just asking a qu
other people's intelligent comments, I was not looking for ignorant assumptions! Starved for attention? Not exactly. Is that a problem that you yourself are facing?

Had you have read all of my posts (OP) you would see that I was only looking for comments from others to see if this was odd behavior or not...and I thanked everyone for their comments regardless of their answers! I was not looking to start a fight here! Please do not be nasty! It is not necessary! We are all adults here!
Just saw a report on news where they listed it as a dangerous drug
apparently caused something that looked like malignant polyps in the colon but other than that, people told not to take it on a first date, not good idea and you should maybe, starting to take for first time, wear dark pants. I guess that is so the orange diarrhea won't show through so much.
See, that's was exactly my initial response to the negative drug test. SM

I felt like relief that my son, even when faced with the temptation, resisted the urge to smoke pot with his friends.  I actually congratulated my son and told him how proud I was that he hadn't been taking any drugs or smoking pot.  But then I wondered if he should be punished for having a bong in his pack.  He obviously didn't use it, but why did he have it?

Now I think I may lift the grounding, but set some rules about him avoiding being around the 23-year-old guy and basically having him check in with me routinely when he is out and as long as he follows the rules, then I'll trust him.

Geez, I don't think I'm going to survive the teenage years and they've only just begun!  I can only hope that when my 7yo daughter reaches her teens, she will go a little easier on me!

Thanks everyone for listening and offering your advice.

she is on a multiple-times-per-week drug testing

Too bad - but If you always do what you've always done....you'll always get what you've always gotten.....if her kids are less important to her than her partying, druggin' ways...well, how one makes their bed is how they get to sleep in it.....no sympathy here....

K-Fed, in particular, stays clean FOR his kids....and I don't like or even know the guy, but I do know he IS the better parent from all that is shoved at us about these 2 and not just these 2 but all these rehab'd at-risk younger people....

oh and please don't think I don't have a heart - no flames - got my own family history of substance abuse that goes decades back...some even died....

But having kids is like G_d giving ya a second chance to GET IT RIGHT!!  Some people just don't get it....

JMHO (just my HUMBLE opinion)
