whether you believe the Constitution's language regarding church and state or not, ours is a secular nation. I will not take the time to answer this viewpoint since I do not buy into it, but I have read the same wacko blogs and sites that promote this nonsense.
There are so many of America's true traditions that were eroded (some beyond recognition) during W's reign, and blurring the lines between church and state is high on that list. Do not look for that minority initiative to survive much longer. Most Americans understand the wisdom in the concept. Get all indignant and outraged if you like. Flame away. It won't change the fact that theocracy is a Middle Eastern concept that is not likely to "catch on" stateside anytime soon.

Obviously you didn't see the interview with this doctor. There was no breech delivery with the cervix clamping down on anything. It was flat out a decision to abort a late-term pregnancy because the mother simply decided that is what she wanted. This murderer agreed to do these abortions and did them quite frequently. Now,if you want to believe that only well meaning doctors do these only for the reason you keep listing, go ahead, but the doc himself made it clear this was not a life or death situation, simply the mother deciding she no longer wanted the baby. The procedure he performed had absolutely nothing to do with necessity. It WAS to just "GET RID" of a viable baby in the true sense.
Now, you're saying this doctor didn't know what he was doing? These are murderers who perform these acts NOT OUF OF NECESSITY but for money, plain and simple, it's money. Mother didn't want the baby, so she found a doctor who obviously has absolutely no conscience at ALL and should be tried as a murderer.
He has not tried to hide the fact that he is performing these murders because he says the law is on his side.

It remains to be seen if
they will no longer be here. I personally don't believe they will leave.
However, since their alleged departure, the Conservative board is a much more serene, friendly place to visit. There is actually intelligent discussion happening there now, and people's views are being respected and not attacked any more by those three. Hopefully it will encourage more intelligent debate. I even felt free to post there today, because in their alleged absence, I don't feel I will wind up in the middle of a war zone.
You refer to someone wishing a poster to "burn in hell." That's a horrible thing to say to anyone, but I think a bigger question is, how much goading and attacking does it take to get someone to that point?
The Conservative board has almost 1,900 posts on it. Most of these aren't intelligent debate. They're attacks by these three, wherein they attack a single poster 3 to 1, then come back to "high-five" each other after stomping the poster so far into the ground, they just give up. More like a street gang mentality than loving, tolerant Christians.
Though there are also attacks on this board, many of them are provoked by one or more of this "gang." If you take a close look at the Conservative and Liberal boards, the more intelligent, tolerant debate, hands down, is found on this board.
I agree with you that we should move on. I also feel that we shouldn't feel too secure in the peace and serenity that is currently being felt, because I personally believe it will be short lived. I believe in my heart they will be back, because they obviously are "pets" of the owner of this board, and I truly doubt that there's another forum out there that would tolerate them. They seem to harbor too much hatred and rage and anger to be content to stay away from here for too long. Just my personal opinion. I have respected yours. All I ask is that you please respect mine, as well, and then maybe we CAN move on to engage in intelligent, thoughtful, open debate, which presumably is the reason for these boards to begin with.

I have nothing to hide, nothing to get away with and see no real reason to dumb down the phrasology, tone or content of my posts. I respond in kind to to folks who have no real interest in viable political issues, are constantly in attack mode, have pronounced adversions to logic, reason and facts and who haul out the holier-than-thou, pious, elite accusations when trying to avoid any sort of intelligent discourse.
There will always be opposition around who can be as in-your-face as the you choose to be...or not. If I "bother" you somehow, so be it. Right wingers bother me too, but you don't see me going around trying to kick them off the board or telling them they post more than they should.

My child struggles every week to pay her bills, her childcare, buy groceries for the kids - all on her own because at $10 an hour she makes too much to get any kind of help, but at the same time the doctors she works for are all driving nice new Hummers, Range Rovers, building million dollar buildings. And of course, they will be the first ones to complain about having to pay higher taxes.
I don't think that because she is their employee that she is working any less than them. Of course, they deserve to be paid good, but I think the "little people" who make it possible for you to run your business should get something along the line.

The democrats did not cause
this mess. And it was not caused by the people who were extended credit. Here is part of what caused it:
Banks issued subprime mortgages to people at a rate they could initially afford but which would increase to an inflated rate after a period of time. Those banks then immediately sold those mortgages at the inflated rates to other banks. These adjustable rate loans were misrepresented to a lot of homebuyers, especially first-time homebuyers. A lot of them didn’t realize, for example, they could not refinance for a period of time without huge penalties. Then the market started to decline and many of those homeowners found themselves upside down on their loans and could not refinance. Their interest rates had ballooned to rates they could no longer afford. The banks who were sold the loans at inflated prices could not afford to lower the rates for the homebuyers because they had bought the loans based on the inflated interest rates and would lose money if they did. People lost their homes and the banks lost the amount of the loans they had bought. But the banks (and the CEOs) that initiated those loans walked away with a great deal of money.
It was because of greed. And the deregulation that the republicans have passed over the years allowed it to happen.
Here are some other facts:
Since 1960 the nation's deficit has risen during every republican administration and dropped during every democratic administration.
The standard of living and income has improved for everyone in the country during every democratic administration since 1960, EVEN for the top 1% of the country. It has gotten worse for everyone in the country during every republican administration EXCEPT the top 1%.
Please tell me how you think the democrats...sm
contributed to the economy diving in the last 2 years. Specifics please. The economy takes way longer than that to do anything. No economic bills have been passed. The last 8 years of the Bush presidency has put us into the tank. Stop parroting the party line. Lets be honest here. John McCain offers nothing better.

When the dems had control of congress during Bush's presidency, did the dems do anything positive for our economy then. Of course they didn't.....why.....because they would hate to do something good during Bush's presidency because he might get credit for it. This goes both ways and your post is very one sided. We all need to wake up and realize that the only people we can trust is ourselves and stop putting so much faith in either party. Government as a whole has screwed us over and I am sick and tired of putting all the blame on one party.
