Who the heck is Parker, and who cares what she thinks.
Anytime anyone says anything against Gov. Palin the dems will jump all over it, "guess who so-n-so said that Gov. Palin should get out". What's going to be next "Harry the garbage man said Gov. Palin should get out", then that will be posted all over the place. I have never heard of this Parker lady and I doubt very much she has any knowledge about Gov. Palin. Maybe we should stop listening to all insignificant people. For as many people who say Gov. Palin should get out there are an equal number saying she is doing just fine, and many more saying Biden should have never been selected as VP.
Rick Warren....(sm)
I really do understand Obama trying to be inclusive of all with the inauguration.  He has lined up a variety of artists, etc, which I think is a good idea.  However, Rick Warren....yeah, that would be the preacher that likened gay and lesbian relationships to polygamy, beastiality, incest, etc.--- had a big role in Prop 8.  That's like inviting Charles Manson for dinner.  I just hope there's a deal in the background of this that I don't know about -- maybe something along the lines of Rick lightening up on the gay community in exchange for speaking at the inauguration.
Rick Warren? The pastor who prayed
The one who spoke on Larry King Live yesterday about the same sex marriage? Which was probably why the post above brought up Rick Warren. The one who wrote the Purpose Driven Life? The pastor of Saddleback Church who has 22,000 members that attend his church on weekends and a total of 65,000 members on-line? The pastor who has 7,000 volunteers? The pastor who ministers individuals who have HIV/AIDS? I could go on and on. You never heard of him? Must not have seen Obama's inauguration.
Who cares what Europe thinks? They are no

Obama voter who approves of Warren sm
Obama and Warren are personal friends, have been for years despite some differences. Warren had Obama speak at his church years ago, the members did not approve, but Obama was invited and spoke there. Same situation here.  They also share more commonalities than differences, such as funding for AIDS, ending poverty and other common goals regarding humanity.
Jon Stewart interviews Elizabeth Warren...

...overseer of the TARP Program.  Though it's pretty funny, it's also very informative and explained in a way that most people can "get," and I highly recommend it to those who are interested.

It's a two-part video, and I believe it's worth watching, though, unfortunately, some people will probably criticize it without even bothering to watch it in its entirety).

Warren Buffett is paying less tax, personally and corporately, than anytime time in his life.
He was interviewed by Charlie Rose last night - excellent interview - but by the time the show was over, my stomach was in knots. I find this very stressful.

I do think that the tax cuts to the rich and corp. America should be reversed. John McCain agreed with this as well early in the summer but I guess his base swayed him to change his stand.

In Buffetts's office, the cleaning lady pays more taxes than he does, he stated.

Stupid question....I got Rick Santelli on a rant with this link.....
did I do something wrong? LOL.
Rick Santorum's claim of finding WMDs is just more false propaganda.

Lawmakers Cite Weapons Found in Iraq

Thursday, June 22, 2006; A10

Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.), chairman of the House intelligence committee, and Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) told reporters yesterday that weapons of mass destruction had in fact been found in Iraq, despite acknowledgments by the White House and the insistence of the intelligence community that no such weapons had been discovered.

We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons, Santorum said.

The lawmakers pointed to an unclassified summary from a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center regarding 500 chemical munitions shells that had been buried near the Iranian border, and then long forgotten, by Iraqi troops during their eight-year war with Iran, which ended in 1988.

The U.S. military announced in 2004 in Iraq that several crates of the old shells had been uncovered and that they contained a blister agent that was no longer active. Neither the military nor the White House nor the CIA considered the shells to be evidence of what was alleged by the Bush administration to be a current Iraqi program to make chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.

Last night, intelligence officials reaffirmed that the shells were old and were not the suspected weapons of mass destruction sought in Iraq after the 2003 invasion.

what in the heck
happened to the feminist movement, and/or growing up as women? why are women acting so catty (no offense meant to cats)...We are attacking a VP candidate for what she wears? As if that makes her more or less qualified, or has anything at all to do with her ability to connect with/understand the populace?, not to mention the polices. give me a break. BTW, who complains about Mr. try-to-be-a-common-man's suit being so sharp and pricey? You can't tell me that wasn't a mega-dollar suit Obama has been seen in lately -- but who cares??? Shake off the fluff of it all people and look at the character, integrity and wisdom of the candidates!!!
Heck no
I sure wouldn't. If people can't wear their shirts showing their candidates, he should not be able to dress that way, which is a blatant attempt to intimidate voters.
It is a heck of a lot different when
they are paying actors 3 million plus per movie and that is only one actor.  That is just ridiculous.  If these liberal actors want to help the little people so much, why don't they take a pay cut so hollywood can afford to pay the little guys who help make the movies, etc.  Why should the tax payers have to pay for it?  These big wigs in hollywood are making millions upon millions a year and hollywood wants MY money to create jobs.  Are you friggin KIDDING ME!!!!!
Heck NO!
It is not MY responsibility to fund someone's contraceptive.......PERIOD! That's the same as my encouraging they have sex without worrying about the consequences in the first place.

And I sure as heck DO NOT want to fund contraceptive for the world! We need to worry about the unwanted children right here in our own back yards. We cannot police the world. We have private organizations that deal with many ministries and help throughout the world. PRIVATE DONATIONS are the key words here.........not forced taxpayer funding!
Heck, yes!............nm

What the heck does it matter to you
what happens on the conservative board.  Like most liberals you feel an innate desire to police everything everywhere as you and your uppity ilk are a lot better than everyone else...You have a board, stay on it, and have your nice little liberal tea parties over here.  I for one couldn't give a rat's ass what you think about the conservative board...you elitist control freaks...now can you TAKE that!
Oh heck no, I have been here since the board was all on one. sm
I just don't post much anymore.
There is not a hope in heck of ...
impeaching Bush unless we recall every single Democratic senator and representative who voted for the war. Let's get real about this. They voted for the war. READ the resolution before you start arguing. It is very clear in its message and they FULLY understood what they were voting on. If they did not, then they do not been to be in the offices they hold!! They can READ, I assume. They had the same intelligence that the President had. Democrats sat on the Intelligence Committees who were briefed by the same people who briefed the President. It is a load of unadulterated MANURE (to use the Code Pink ladies' song) to now state that they were lied to and they didn't know the truth. Well, all I can say is, they do not deserve to be in Washington as your representatives if they did NOT do the research and talk to the advisors and the military et. al. before agreeing to the resolution. Now that the going has gotten tough, the Democrats want to do what they do best, that is cut and run, no matter what happens to the Iraqi people or to the morale of our men and women in uniform, just like they did during Viet Nam. It is a travesty, it plays right into the hands of the enemy, and I would not doubt in the latest that Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Hanoi Jane, and the Pink Ladies are now starring in Al Qaeda recruitment and propaganda videos. And they should each be ashamed of that fact. But there is something seriously lacking in those people...empathy and common sense. And no one will respond to my challenge...why don't the Code Pink ladies take their cause to the real enemies of this country...the ones who took down the towers...the ones who bombed the Cole...the ones who bombed the WTC the FIRST time...the ones who downed the plane over Lockerbie...the ones who blew up the Marine barracks in Beirut....how, LVMT, can you INGORE all that loss of American life? How can THEY??? Why don't Sarandon, Robbins, Penn, all of them, get an audience with bin Laden? Tell HIM to give peace a chance...try to get his followers to IMPEACH HIM. Probably, because as Bill O'Reilly so astutely pointed out...they like their heads attached to their shoulders. They are sniveling cowards. While our men and women in the military are in harm's way ever day fighting the noble fight, we have these cowards who DARE to call themselves and their cause noble, busy undermining it as fast and as publically as they can. They do not have the common sense to be ashamed of themselves, so I will be ashamed FOR them. And if you were a patriotic American, you would be too.
Oh I don't know, you are doing a heck of a fine job...
passing off insult as intelligence. You have it down to a fine art. Verrryyy impressive. "Certainly the issues seem to be a big taboo." Well I suppose so...since I have asked you a very simple question repeatedly and you can't seem to stop with the insults long enough to answer it....lol.

As to plagiarizing...rather than do that, you just post under different monikers...to support your own argument I guess? Ahem. Ego need a little stroking there?

Hope you find some of that substantive conversation. Heaven only knows who would sit through a 20-minute dissertation hoping that at some time a point would emerge or just one little question would be answered. Good luck!

What the heck is the PROBLEM?!

I remember in the mid 1980s, my old car died.  The last thing I wanted was to incur a new monthly car payment, but I needed a car.

I went to the Chevy lot and asked to see the cheapest new car they had.  They showed me a Chevy Sprint -- bare bones.  (The car didn't have air conditioning and didn't even have a RADIO.)  I bought it because I was desperate.  (I remember my prepubescent daughter HATING me for getting it because the front passenger visor didn't have a MIRROR.)

That dang car got 50 MILES PER GALLON!  I bought a radio (and a mirror for the front passenger visor), and later, my dad had air conditioning installed as a birthday present.  It turned out to be the best car I ever had and was very, very cheap to purchase.

If they could manufacture a car like that 20-plus years ago, why can't they do it now?

that makes a whole heck of a lot of

sense since isn't obama the one wanting to spend less money on our defense?  I don't believe that Obama will stop any terrorist attack.

Some one please explain to me....you all blame Bush for 9/11 stating that there were warnings about planes, etc.  Did they give a specific day?  Which planes?  So does the president take this information and land all planes and not allow air travel at all on that day?  Do they evacuate all tall buildings and monuments just in case?  Could 9/11 have been prevented?  We all seem to know who to point the finger at but I'm sure dealing with terrorist and terrorists threats is a whole different ball game than us just sitting back and watching bad things happening and wanting to know why it wasn't stopped.

All I can say is that God forbid we have another terrorist attack, we will just have to wait and see how Obama handles it.  I think it would be hard for any president to prevent some of these things, but that is just something we are going to have to see play out before we know the answer to it.

sure as heck NOT hollywood either!!!

Heck Gov - just grow some more pot!
Now that's thinkin, Lincoln!
And you are right, and I am P.O'ed as heck about that but....sm
Okay, that is one of the things in this "package" that I think is insane and absolutely STUPID and WRONG. But would I throw out so many of the good proposals in that bill because of it, things that will actually create jobs, actually help some (SOME) deserving folk not go out on the street, extend unemployment benefits because there are almost NO JOBS out there and families will need this to fall back on as they look for jobs...the $$$ that will go for elcerly, disabled, the money that will go toward strengthing out BORDERS, and lots of folk here complain about the ALIENS, well, that takes money! Stronger borders also means less drugs get in, they will still get in I know, but less will. STOP throwing out the baby with the bathwater, for God's sake. The country is starting to remind me of a bunch of little kids with ADHD hiked up on sugar, running around, taking tantrums, and wanting things NOW. What about the past 8 years as this was all in the making????
where the heck does it say that?...please see message
BT, I really like discussing with you, and respect your opinions, so please see where I was coming from because you really surprised me here, you aren't one of the "rabble-rousers!" Previous poster implied, because I had the temerity to express how I felt about Rush and anyone listening to him, the question was pointed at me "what kind of news do you watch?" and I simply replied the truth, a bit sarcastically, because she had a superior attitude, that even stupid Democrats or Independents could watch CNN, MSNBC, all the news channels, C-Span, etc., for information. where is the sentence about ANY OF THEM being garbage? Yup, when I am attacked very unfairly and words are put into my mouth, so to speak, I get a bit testy, as you do. No offense, okay, because I enjoy being able to exchange ideas with you!

Go to heck! I AM open to the truth!
I am just stating my personal OPINION!!! Yes, this IS America, and I am ALLOWED to have it! She doesn't really look it there! Just like no one cares about all of the garbage that they spread about Obama, but I don't see many people defending him here! It could affect his kids also! Obviously no one here made that story up by themselves, so go to the KOS and complain to THEM for printing it, and then...

NOT. Seriously:

The big rule is: no personal use.
As Bob Biersack from the Federal Election Commission points out, most candidates don’t have much left over to begin with. Campaigning is expensive, and “leftover” money gets used for bills and debts first, including expenses incurred while winding down an abandoned campaign or a lost political office.

Candidates do sometimes end up with surplus funds, though, particularly if they're incumbent members of Congress who decide not to run for another term. State and local governments have their own rules, but those running for federal office -- including presidential candidates -- must abide by strict FEC guidelines when it comes to their extra campaign money. They can donate an unlimited amount to a charity or political party. They can also, within limits, make contributions directly to other candidates. A campaign committee can give up to $2000 per election to each candidate. If the committee is converted into a political action committee, the limit jumps to $5000 – but to be established as a PAC, the committee would have to be in existence for six months, receive contributions from 50 donors, and make contributions to five recipients.

What candidates can’t do with leftover money is use it for personal expenses. Retiring federal lawmakers used to be able to pocket extra cash and use it for cars, vacations, clothes, pet grooming, whatever -- but that changed in 1989 with the passage of the Ethics Reform Act.

Hey...maybe he will donate it to Hillary and help her with her campaign debt. :p
To what the heck? - our country has gone nuts
This is absolute garbage (no not your message), but the fact that people will support this solely because it's Obama's plan. If Bush decided to bring terrorist to the country for "trials" all these same boards praising Obama for doing it would be cursing and cutting down Bush. Double standards! These people should be tried in their own country with an independent jury/judge from various countries. One poster below was right. We do not have enough rooms in our jail as it is. Also they are missing the point. He is not bringing just ordinary prisoners (thieves, etc), he is bringing terrorists and some of them will be released into our society. This is absolute crapola! Their lord could be caught on camera stabbing someone over and over and they'd say "oh that person probably deserved it". I am so disgusted with this country and their double standards.

What the heck? Gibbs challenges

We have the right to freedom of speech.  We all know we do not want Obama to fail, but do not socialism or even communisim.  I call it a threat.  Maybe (from teh post below) Russia is right how United States is going to fall around 2010.  So sad.  I even read our new Treasury guy agrees we should not tax the rich right now because we need them to help our economy.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/03/04/gibbs-takes-gloves-challenge-reporters-hosts-cross-obama/

Jim Cramer. Rush Limbaugh. Rick Santelli.

What do they all have in common? Most likely, none of them is getting invited to the White House Christmas party.

All three media personalities have been singled out by President Obama's press shop in the course of less than two weeks. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, in doing so, has shown an unusual willingness to spar with cable and radio hosts who take shots at his boss.

The rebuttals have ranged from playful ribbing to disdainful scolding.

Talk show host Limbaugh has drawn the most ire from the White House. Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel called him out on Sunday for saying he wants Obama to fail, after Obama told Republican lawmakers not to listen to people like Limbaugh several weeks ago.

Gibbs followed up Monday, calling on conservative pundits to challenge Limbaugh on air.

"Do they want to see the president's economic agenda fail? You know, I bet there are a number of guests on television throughout the day and maybe into tomorrow who could let America know whether -- whether they agree with what Rush Limbaugh said this weekend," Gibbs said. But then he took a shot at those who applauded Limbaugh during his address to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington over the weekend.

"You know, I'd like to think, and I think most people would like to think, that we can put aside our differences and get things done for the American people. We'll say, in watching a few cable clips of Mr. Limbaugh's speech, his notion of presidential failures seemed to be quite popular in the room in which he spoke," he said.

Gibbs repeated his call for Republicans to speak up on whether they agree with Limbaugh Tuesday. Limbaugh has said that while he wants Obama to fail, he doesn't want the economy to fail.

Donald Rieck, executive director at the Center for Media and Public Affairs, said the Obama team, which studies have shown received far more favorable press treatment during the campaign than its rivals, is apparently having trouble acclimating to a more critical press post-Inauguration Day.

"If they're going to do this, to jump like that every time someone says something provocative about them, it's going to be an awfully long tenure for Gibbs, because there's a way to let this roll off your shoulders," he said.

Gibbs didn't stop at Limbaugh, who Democrats eagerly claim speaks for the Republican Party in the absence of a clear leader. (House Republican Leader John Boehner asserted Wednesday that the White House was intentionally elevating Limbaugh to distract from their budget.)

On Tuesday, Gibbs also responded to a question about CNBC host Jim Cramer's claim that Obama's economic policies represent the "greatest wealth destruction" by a president.

"If you turn on a certain program, it's geared to a very small audience, no offense to my good friends or friend at CNBC," Gibbs said.

Gibbs tried to hedge at first, saying, "this is where I have to probably be careful," and "I'm not entirely sure what he's pointing to," and "I'm going to get in a lot of trouble."

That was almost certainly a reference to the last time he went after a CNBC reporter -- Rick Santelli.

In late February, Gibbs responded at length to Santelli's on-air rant at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, in which he stirred up traders by shouting that the government was promoting "bad behavior" with its mortgage rescue plan. "This is America," he said. "How many of you people want to pay for your neighbor's mortgage that has an extra bathroom and can't pay their bills?"

Asked about the segment, Gibbs said: "I'm not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives or in what house he lives. But the America people are struggling every day to meet their mortgage."

He said Santelli argued "quite wrongly" that the plan was ineffective and concluded by inviting him to the White House for a cup of "decaf" coffee.

"I would encourage him to read the president's plan and understand that it will help millions of people, many of whom he knows. I would be more than happy to have him come here and read it. I'd be happy to buy him a cup of coffee -- decaf."

The press in the room laughed at the quip, but Santelli later said he felt personally threatened by the White House.

Still, Gibbs said Tuesday he did not actually get in a "lot of trouble" for singling out Santelli.

"There are very few days that I've had more fun," Gibbs said.
