My reason for not voting for Obama...
he is going to raise DH and my taxes. Yes, we make a very good living through having a good work ethic, not living above our means and working for everything that we have. We have never had to rely on the gov't to give us a handout and we don't expect one. We put ourselves through school with loans that we paid back, we pay for our own health insurance, we paid for daycare when the kids were little, we didn't expect the gov't to give us a thing; we were taught early on that you work hard to achieve your goals and we have. I don't need a president telling my DH and I that we have to "spread our wealth" around to those less fortunate than us. WE decide who to give our money to and when. There will be on incentive to work hard if Obama is elected; laziness will be rewarded. We shouldn't be bailing out big corporations at all, nor should we bail out every homeowner who bought more than they could afford and now expect help. While there are some circumstances that do merit help such as medical reasons or job loss, most are due to financial irresponsibility on the homeowners part. The American Dream is out there if you work for it, but Obama will make sure if you acheive it you must carry someone on your back who doesn't deserve it.
I hope you voting for Obama, did you?..nm

More added uncertainty as to who he really, really is.  At least with McCain, there is none of this distrust.  I do not have to worry that McCain is hanging around terrorists, where he was born and if he is a true US citizen, if he was raised and taught by a pastor for 20 years to learn hate, and could go on and on.  What you see is what you get with McCain.  None of this junk of trying to prove who he is.

As for O, there is no trust for me.  He seems deceitful.  He gets mad when newspapers go against him and then kicks them off the plane and so on.  Even Clintons have said Obama needs A LOT OF ADVISORS if he wins this election.  This is not an election, but an eerie movement.  Even had to arrest skin heads because of a plot to assassain the O, already.  Freaks me out.  Just not right for this country or should I now say for this WORLD as the O wants to change it.  He does not know anything about foreign affairs to CHANGE THE WORLD.  He scares me to death and I am not the only one who feels this way.

Can anyone give me reassurance about the O?

African-American population
It's a good thing if the black population is ever growing into the middle class. It means that that demographic is benefiting from workfare and the changes in welfare that kept the culture dependent soley on the government for many years. The most striking thing about New Orleans is that it is one of the most welfare ridden cities left in the country, and that is why so many people there were in such a poverty state. The able people haven't been made to start providing for and/or bettering themselves. New Orleans is an example of what happens in a nanny state. It's not that the government was not involved. It was involved too much. It's glaringly obvious.
I'm African American and am VERY offended
that he would even make the comment I don't care how he tried to clean it up, or what context he used it
in.

To say that the crime rate would be reduced if you aborted all African Americans is deplorable and your defense of the comment is sickening. It doesn't matter to me if he came back and says it's morally wrong to do so, well DUHHH yeah it would be, so why is he saying this $h!t to begin with.

There is a quote below from another African American. SM
He was not offended.  What is your point?
The first African-American president.

I am not for Obama but I don't wish him any harm.  All I have to say is....I would be scared out of my wits to be the first African-American president.  I am not saying this because I am racist.  I am saying this because there are some extreme racists out there who believe the idea of this is just wrong.  Just look at what happened to Martin Luther King and he wasn't even president.  I know that was back when race more of an issue, but it still is to some people and I wouldn't put it past some of those freaks to stop this from happening at all costs.

Like I said.....I wish Obama no harm so please no bashing posts about how I'm a huge racist.

What is this African-American stuff? I am white,
If I am to call a black person African-American, then I should be called Irish-American, German-American, Scottish-American, Italian-American, Welch-American, French-American...the list goes on and on.

This is the very example of racism. One color people believing they should be called something different than what they are. That is ridiculous. I am not going to jump through ludicrous hoops. If anyone is that small minded and believes they have to tack on a continent before their name, they need to get a life and live in reality.

Thread topic is African-American Christian endorsing McCain.
rasberries
After I connect those dots, I see African-Americans voting for a man based solely on his race.

Not because they agree with his politics or think he's the best man for the job, but because he's a black man period.  For the record, Obama is absolutely no MLK.

This election was not about race for me either.  I disagree with Obama's stand on the morality issues.  I disagree with Obama on his political issues.  I don't think the man has any experience running anything, and now we give him the entire country to experiement with?!?!!?  He has too many shady characters in his past.  He's as slick as a snake.

Watch for a lot of upheaval and racial tension throughout the nation in the next few months.  My point is this, your man wins the election and instead of behaving in a dignified manner and celebrating appropriately, many will riot in the streets and act like raving lunatics.  It is so unbelievably sureal.

I feel like I smack dab in the middle of one of those end of the world scenarios!

You make a good point, but I think the real credit for African American progress..sm
is education. You can take away all of the social programs you want to, but if there is not progress in education, you still have poverty.
Yeah, well, I seem to remember Democrat saying she wasn't African-American awhile back. sm
So which is it?
There is a reason that Bill and Hill aren't...
out there strongly for Obama. They ARE for the party, but not him particularly. If Hillary was invested in this, she would be going all over the country stumping. She's not. Bill was saying nothing but positive things on Greta Van Susteren's show. Hillary is fixed on 2012...and the only way she runs for Prez then is if Obama loses. If he wins, it might be 8 years. Neither one are going to stray from the party line, but they certainly aren't in the ranks of "ardent" Obama supporters.

I personally think if Obama were to think about ditching Biden (and I really don't think he is) and asked Hillary about it, I think she would tell him in no uncertain terms to take a hike. We would never know that publically of course...I think he knows he messed in his nest with the Clintons. I can't see him going there, and I certainly can't see Michelle and Hillary rubbing elbows for 4 years...lol. But, like you, I could be wrong....stranger things have happened. lol.
My main reason for voting for McCain because

1.  TRUST. Don't trust O.

2. TRUTH. He is more truthful than the O. I didn't hear him waver much from what he has been saying through the whole campaign, while O has changed his mind a few times.

3.  AMERICA. He believes in this country and its freedoms. O wants to curb our freedom.

4.  "MAVERICK". He does cross party lines and buck the system. O will vote specifically with the dems all the time,,, and I really hate the word Maverick.

5.  SAFETY. He will keep us safer. O would rather talk. Talking gets you nowhere with the radicals in the world today. The radicals give their word and the next day will kill.

6. I believe he will TRY to cut government spending. This one is iffy since it depends on who runs the house and senate, but I believe he will try his darndest to get this done.

There are so many more reasons why I chose McC and those include those in the below posts.

Ironic that you are on the Politics board when you aren't American
At least that what you say, that you're not from American and are European.

Interesting indeed...

Okay, now that I'm satisfied that you are indeed the poster I thought you were, I'm outta this thread.

Good luck, ladies!!!
Yet another reason why I am voting for Fred Thompson in the primaries...
he opposes a nationwide ban on abortion. He says it should be up to the individual states, put to a vote of the people, not decided by Congress (who would not touch it anyway or they would have already) or activist judges (who overturned a state law with Roe vs. Wade, which is unconstitutional and should be overturned...the only entity the constitution allows to make low is Congress either at state or federal level...NOT judges). The point being, THAT is the democratic, American way to do it. Let the people speak and let it stand. I am sure some states would allow abortion, others would not. But at least it is put to the vote of the people. Let us as individuals have choice also. There would still be places to obtain abortion if that is someone's choice, but if the majority of a state does not want abortion legal, they should not have to have it legal. That is what democracy is all about. Right? Why would any of you have a problem with letting the people speak?

As to back alley abortions...the numbers of those were very small in proportion to the number of abortions performed when abortion was illegal. Doctors did them illegally as well, under sterile conditions, and no one died. I agree, no one should have died, but women did have a choice. The babies are not given the same consideration.

And again...why is it so abhorent to some that women died from "botched" abortions, but not that unborn children are chopped up or have their skulls collapsed? A woman has a choice whether or not to subject herself to a "back alley" abortion. That child has no choice, no place to go, just to be chopped up or have their skull collapsed. Imagine that being done to an infant 3 minutes old, 1 hour old...being chopped up or having skull collapsed. Then would we call abortionists serial killers?

I just don't get it, how one is so horrifying and people are accepting of other based totally on "choice."

No offense, but if your father attended an abortion or two, especially a partial birth abortion...he might flip back to the other side. I doubt he would be able to forget those images either. I have seen the pictures. I know I will never forget those images.

I couldn't agree with you more!! I'm voting McCain for the same reason. nm

Many repubs voting for Obama in my experience..OR NOT VOTING ..only
only a few stragglers left, like the 26 percent who don't hate Bush.

Most people voting for Obama are voting on emotion...sm
You may be the exception.

All that matters is hope and change. At what cost, my friend, at what cost, will your hope and change come at.

He will try to change the very foundation of this country, the constitution, and our very way of life.

If I wanted that, I'd move back to Russia where some of my ancestors came from.

I can recognize socialism and Marxism, even if half the country cannot.

They only care for hope. And change.

really, and you are voting for obama? then he is going to take...

from you too. DH and I aren't voting for him because of the taxes he is raising on the 250K an up. You should be worried too if your income is in that range like ours.

obama's reason

Integrity.  Belief in his own vision for the future.  Distaste for repub tactics of dividing Americans over issues such as anti-choice, pro-choice, gay rights, etc.

For the same reason Obama won't go somewhere...
not scripted. Neither one wants to be trapped, and if you look, there are a lot more hunters looking to foul her up than him. He should do it BEFORE she did anyway, HE is the #1 on the ticket. Good grief.
With all due respect, I am voting for Obama, not his

Barack Obama addresses issues that mean the most to me.  Simple as that.  His wife seems to be a caring mother and caring human being in general who is intelligent and well educated.  I think those are great qualities for a first lady.

Obama inspires me with his speeches.  He reminds me of JFK in that way.  He won't fly on private jets because his vote has not been purchased by any large corporations, and he does not want to give that appearance.  In other words, I do not think he has been corrupted by money and greed, and in Washington that says a lot!!  When I look at the big picture he is my #1 choice.  Go Obama.   Sorry, couldn't resist the cheerleader! :)

Not voting for Obama either. Will write someone in instead. nm

57% obama; still voting for McCain
Some things like abortion, death penalty and guns really aren't as important as my taxes and his spending of my taxes.
Everyone here knew you were voting Obama
Your phony posts have been full of crap from day one.

Every single post you've made here has bashed Republicans and praised that spider monkey obama.

Perhaps MTs who can't find a job STINK AT THEIR JOBS!!!! If you don't have work, do't blame the Republicans. Get some education and fix the problem yourself.

Stop beggining big government to fix your own shortcomings!!!!!
I am not voting for Obama. Are you really that ignorant? nm

Feel the same and wont be voting for Obama. nm

Color blind here and voting for Obama. However, sm
I heard on the news today that people saying they will not vote for him because he is a Muslim (he is not) because it it politically incorrect to say they will not vote for him because he is black. I think that no one on this board will admit to not voting for him because he is black, the Bradley effect is alive and well I think.
I agree - I'm a democrat too, but not voting for Obama nm

Did you hear the real reason why Obama
not our country, but for his kids to have much more than he had. He wanted his kids and ours to have a better life. Sure, nothing wrong with that, but it was not for you or me, economy, "where is my check in the mail?", keeping our country safe, and among many other things.
Obama. He knows the American people
want to see a debate between the two people who are running for president, one of whom will inheret a BIG MESS.  McCain hasn't worried about voting for anything in a looonnnngggg time.  This is all a ploy, and he GOTCHA!  Teehee.
Who you callin' sheep? WE aren't part of the Obama flock which is why

you blast the tea parties and try to downplay their significance.  The sentiment behind the tea party is that we shouldn't be part of any flock!  We should be thinking on our own.  We shouldn't hide behind party lines and blindly follow our politicians to our ruin, republican or democrat!

Geez, talk about totally blind.  If it doesn't have a big fat O stamped on it, you won't listen.  Just a bunch of freaking robots.... O rhetoric goes in and nothing relevant comes out!  I thought you lefties were "intellectuals" and "free thinkers."  Now you're just Obama groupies clinging to his empty promise of hope and change!  Grow a brain!  Exercise your brain cells and THINK!

And I'm worried about Obama finding a reason to declare...sm
martial law once he's in office, and creating his own dictatorship. Works both ways.

I still say Bush will be glad to be well out of it come January 20, 2009.

But watch....Bush will get blamed for everything that goes wrong for the next four years anyway
Heard in the news that Obama can never reason with Iran.
Maybe you all might know this, but this is news to my ears. During most of President of Iran Ahmadinejad's speeches he always states this:

0, Almighty God, all men and women are Your creatures and You have ordained their guidance and salvation. Bestow upon humanity that thirsts for justice, the perfect human being promised to all by You, and make us among his followers and among those who strive for his return and his cause.

Who is this human being promised to all?

Their new messiah. The way this new messiah appears is by getting rid of little Satan and big Satan. Iran muslims,(I was told there are 2 type of muslims) believe when messiah appears, there has to be a lot of blood shed.

WHO IS THE LITTLE SATAN AND BIG SATAN?:

Israel's role is first of all to protect itself, but also to alert others to the danger of militant Islam. They intend to go after Israel, but for them Israel is merely the "little Satan," one stepping stone on the march to world domination. For Ahmadinejad's Iran, Europe is a "middle-sized Satan" and the United States is the "great Satan."

So, how can you reason and do talks with president Iran when he thinks this way and muslims think this way? It is not all muslims that do, but this one particular type. How can you reason with Ahmadinejad when United States in his eyes is Satan? He wants us dead so this new messiah will come to them.

An American businessman's letter to Obama...sm

An American businessman's letter to Obama

Posted on Saturday, October 25, 2008 05:06:19 by tnye

Mr. Obama,

Given the uproar about the simple question asked you by Joe the plumber, and the persecution that has been heaped on him because he dared to question you, I find myself motivated to say a few things to you myself. While Joe aspires to start a business someday, I already have started not one, but 4 businesses. But first, let me introduce myself. You can call me "Cory the well driller". I am a 54 year old high school graduate. I didn't go to college like you, I was too ready to go "conquer the world" when I finished high school. 25 years ago at age 29, I started my own water well drilling business at a time when the economy here in East Texas was in a tailspin from the crash of the early 80's oil boom. I didn't get any help from the government, nor did I look for any. I borrowed what I could from my sister, my uncle, and even the pawn shop and managed to scrape together a homemade drill rig and a few tools to do my first job. My businesses did not start as a result of privilege. They are the result of my personal drive, personal ambition, self discipline, self reliance, and a determination to treat my customers fairly. From the very start my business provided one other (than myself) East Texan a full time job. I couldn't afford a backhoe the first few years (something every well drilling business had), so I and my helper had to dig the mud pits that are necessary for each and every job with hand shovels. I had to use my 10 year old, 1/2 ton pickup truck for my water tank truck (normally a job for at least a 2 ton truck).

A year and a half after I started the business, I scraped together a 20% down payment to get a modest bank loan and bought a (28 year) old, worn out, slightly bigger drilling rig to allow me to drill the deeper water wells in my area. I spent the next few years drilling wells with the rig while simultaneously rebuilding it between jobs. Through these years I never knew from one month to the next if I would have any work or be able to pay the bills. I got behind on my income taxes one year, and spent the next two years paying that back (with penalty and interest) while keeping up with ongoing taxes. I got behind on my water well supply bill 2 different years (way behind the second time... $80,000.00), and spent over a year paying it back (each time) while continuing to pay for ongoing supplies C.O.D.. Of course, the personal stress endured through these experiences and years is hard to measure. I do have a stent in my heart now to memorialize it all.

I spent the next 10 years developing the reputation for being the most competent and most honest water well driller in East Texas. 2 years along the way, I hired another full time employee for the drilling business so that we could provide full time water well pump service as well as the well drilling. Also, 3 years along the path, I bought a water well screen service machine from a friend, starting business # 2. 5 years later I made a business loan for $100,000.00 to build a new, higher production, computer controlled screen service machine. I had designed the machine myself, and it didn't work out for 3 years so I had to make the loan payments without the benefit of any added income from the new machine. No government program was there to help me with the payments, or to help me sleep at night as I lay awake wondering how I would solve my machine problems or pay my bills. Finally, after 3 years, I got the screen machine working properly, and that provided another full time job for an East Texan in the screen service business.

2 years after that, I made another business loan, this time for $250,000.00, to buy another used drilling rig and all the support equipment needed to run another, larger, drill rig. This provided another 2 full time jobs for East Texans. Again, I spent a couple of years not knowing if I had made a smart move, or a move that would bankrupt me. For the third time in 13 years, I had placed everything I owned on the line, risking everything, in order to build a business.

A couple of years into this, I came up with a bright idea for a new kind of mud pump, a fundamentally necessary pump used on water well drill rigs. I spent my entire life savings to date (just $30,000.00), building a prototype of the pump and took it to the national water well convention to show it off. Customers immediately started coming out of the woodworks to buy the pumps, but there was a problem. I had depleted my assets making the prototype, and nobody would make me a business loan to start production of the new pumps. With several deposits for pump orders in hand, and nowhere to go, I finally started applying for as many credit card as I could find and took cash withdrawals on these cards to the tune of over $150,000.00 (including modest loans from my dear sister and brother), to get this 3rd business going.

Yes, once again, I had everything hanging over the line in an effort to start another business. I had never manufactured anything, and I had to design and bring into production a complex hydraulic machine from an untested prototype to a reliable production model (in six months). How many nights I lay awake wondering if I had just made the paramount mistake of my life I cannot tell you, but there were plenty. I managed to get the pumps into production, which immediately created another 2 full time jobs in East Texas. Some of the models in the first year suffered from quality issues due to the poor workmanship of one of my key suppliers, so I and an employee (another East Texan employed) had to drive across the country to repair customers' pumps, practically from coast to coast. I stood behind the product, and made payments to all the credit cards that had financed me (and my brother and sister). I spent the next 5 years improving and refining the product, building a reputation for the pump and the company, working to get the pump into drill rig manufacturers' product lines, and paying back credit cards. During all this time I continued to manage a growing water well business that was now operating 3 drill rig crews, and 2 well service crews. Also, the screen service business continued to grow. No government programs were there to help me, Mr. Obama, but that's ok, I didn't expect any, nor did I want any. I was too busy fighting to make success happen to sit around waiting for the government to help me.

Now, we have been manufacturing the mud pumps for 7 years, my combined businesses employ 32 full time employees, and distribute $5,000,000.00 annually through the local economy. Now, just 4 months ago I borrowed $1,254,000.00, purchasing computer controlled machining equipment to start my 4th business, a production machine shop. The machine shop will serve the mud pump company so that we can better manufacture our pumps that are being shipped worldwide. Of course, the machine shop will also do work for outside companies as well. This has already produced 2 more full time jobs, and 2 more should develop out of it in the next few months. This should work out, but if it doesn't it will be because you, and the other professional politicians like yourself, will have destroyed our countrys' (and the world) economy with your meddling with mortgage loan programs through your liberal manipulation and intimidation of loaning institutions to make sure that unqualified borrowers could get mortgages. You see, at the very time when I couldn't get a business loan to get my mud pumps into production, you were working with Acorn and the Community Reinvestment Act programs to make sure that unqualified borrowers could buy homes with no down payment, and even no credit or worse yet, bad credit. Even the infamous, liberal, Ninja loans (No Income, No Job or Assets). While these unqualified borrowers were enjoying unrealistically low interest rates, I was paying 22% to 24% interest on the credit cards that I had used to provide me the funds for the mud pump business that has created jobs for more East Texans. It's funny, because after 25 years of turning almost every dime of extra money back into my businesses to grow them, it has been only in the last two years that I have finally made enough money to be able to put a little away for retirement, and now the value of that has dropped 40% because of the policies you and your ilk have perpetrated on our country.

You see, Mr. Obama, I'm the guy you intend to raise taxes on. I'm the guy who has spent 25 years toiling and sweating, fretting and fighting, stressing and risking, to build a business and get ahead. I'm the guy who has been on the very edge of bankruptcy more than a dozen times over the last 25 years, and all the while creating more and more jobs for East Texans who didn't want to take a risk, and would not demand from themselves what I have demanded from myself. I'm the guy you characterize as "the Americans who can afford it the most" that you believe should be taxed more to provide income redistribution "to spread the wealth" to those who have never toiled, sweated, fretted, fought, stressed, or risked anything. You want to characterize me as someone who has enjoyed a life of privilege and who needs to pay a higher percentage of my income than those who have bought into your entitlement culture. I resent you, Mr. Obama, as I resent all who want to use class warfare as a tool to advance their political career. What's worse, each year more Americans buy into your liberal entitlement culture, and turn to the government for their hope of a better life instead of themselves. Liberals are succeeding through more than 40 years of collaborative effort between the predominant liberal media, and liberal indoctrination programs in the public school systems across our land.

What is so terribly sad about this is this. America was made great by people who embraced the one-time American culture of self reliance, self motivation, self determination, self discipline, personal betterment, hard work, risk taking. A culture built around the concept that success was in reach of every able bodied American who would strive for it. Each year that less Americans embrace that culture, we all descend together. We descend down the socialist path that has brought country after country ultimately to bitter and unremarkable states. If you and your liberal comrades in the media and school systems would spend half as much effort cultivating a culture of can-do across America as you do cultivating your entitlement culture, we could see Americans at large embracing the conviction that they can elevate themselves through personal betterment, personal achievement, and self reliance. You see, when people embrace such ideals, they act on them. When people act on such ideals, they succeed. All of America could find herself elevating instead of deteriorating. But that would eliminate the need for liberal politicians, wouldn't it, Mr. Obama? The country would not need you if the country was convinced that problem solving was best left with individuals instead of the government. You and all your liberal comrades have got a vested interested in creating a dependent class in our country. It is the very business of liberals to create an ever expanding dependence on government. What's remarkable is that you, who have never produced a job in your life, are going to tax me to take more of my money and give it to people who wouldn't need my money if they would get off their entitlement mentality asses and apply themselves at work, demand more from themselves, and quit looking to liberal politicians to raise their station in life.

You see, I know because I've had them work for me before. Hundreds of them over these 25 years. People who simply will not show up to work on time. People who just will not work 5 days in a week, much less, 6 days. People always looking for a way to put less effort out. People who actually tell me that they would do more if I just would first pay them more. People who take off work to sit in government offices to apply to get free government handouts (gee, I wonder how things would have turned out for them if they had spent that time earning money and pleasing their employer?). You see, all of this comes from your entitlement mentality culture.

Oh, I know you will say I am uncompassionate. Sorry, Mr. Obama, wrong again. You see, I've seen what the average percentage of your income has been given to charities over the years of 2000 to 2004 (ignoring the years you started running for office - can you pronounce "politically motivated"), you averaged less than 1% annually. And your running mate, Joe Biden, averaged less than ¼% of his annual income in charitable contributions over the last 10 years. Like so many liberals, the two of you want to give to the needy, just as long as it is someone else's money you are giving to them. I won't say what I have given to charities over the last 25 years, but the percentage is several times more than you and Joe Biden. combined (don't you just hate google?). Tell me again how you feel my pain.

In short, Mr. Obama, your political philosophies represent everything that is wrong with our country. You represent the culture of government dependence instead of self reliance; Entitlement mentality instead of personal achievement; Penalization of the successful to reward the unmotivated; Political correctness instead of open mindedness and open debate. If you are successful, you may preside over the final transformation of America from being the greatest and most self-reliant culture on earth, to just another country of whiners and wimps, who sit around looking to the government to solve their problems. Like all of western Europe. All countries on the decline. All countries that, because of liberal socialistic mentalities, have a little less to offer mankind every year.

God help us...

just a ordinary, extraordinary American, the way a lot of Americans used to be.

P.S. Yes, Mr. Obama, I am a real American... www.cmillerdrilling.com

I am a lifelong Democrat and this makes me happy, I am not voting for Obama sm
I honestly DO NOT care what color his skin is! I also don't really care that Sarah Palin doesn't have a dingle dangle between her legs either. These things do NOT matter.

I would not vote for Obama because as far as I am concerned, he thinks he stands for being a minority. We are headed into another Depression or at least recession. Education in this country is a sick joke. The housing market is crashing. On and on. It is a LOT of gloom and doom and I can't see where Obama stands on ANYTHING. Milquetoast all the way around.

I am not exactly a McCain fan. I met him in 1976, not so very long after he returned from Vietnam. I was a kid and he had a profound impact. I am NOT a Republican, I DO NOT like their platform and I am NOT a conservative...but by golly I will vote for him. I think he can do the job and I think he has ideas. Some of them are wrong to be sure, but he HAS SOME.

As for Sarah Palin, she is not afraid of much I suspect. She wasn't afraid to bring a Down syndrome child into the world and commit to raising him. She had young ones at home, but that didn't stop her going up for office. Fearless and gutsy, brave and standing behind her convictions, such as no abortions...yes I can respect her even if I don't agree with her.

I looked at a picture of her and I saw someone who will likely BE president, and not the VP in the fullness of time. I saw a REAL woman, not a fake, not a politician. Can she be president without making mistakes? No, but no one else can either. She knows what it is to run a household, so yes I think she can run the country. A woman can tell you it is just the same, only bigger and that isn't important to please all the children all the time, but to get the job DONE.
Commentary: Voting against Obama doesn't make you a racist...sm

so many attack - no real reason AND no positive info on Obama

The more McCain/Palin's ratings are going up, the more the democrats are panicking, and the attacks about Palin are becoming more vicious - AND nobody is posting anything positive about Obama, like "I'm really excited about his health care plan or his energy plan or his housing fix plan or 100 other reasons we should be voting for someone.  No, nothing positive about him...AND I'm not even hearing anything negative against McCain's plan.  It's just vicious rumors, lies, and conjectures about Sarah Palin.  Let's see.  I've heard she hunts, she's for killing innocent soldiers and civilians in Iraq, she has a tanning bed, her daughter's pregnant, she didn't answer questions the way you would answer them (which in all fairness to her the interview was a bait & trap situation - especially when half the country was asking "what part is he asking her about?").  So for all those who say she didn't get it, neither did half the country (but those must be the people who cling to their guns and religion).  Let's see...what else.  She's selling her baby on e-bay, the father of her daughter's baby is skum, she believes in God, etc, etc.  Oh yes, the best one was someone didn't like her because she is pretty and was in a beauty pagent (although I can't decide whether that is the best or that someone believes she was selling her baby on e-bay).  Yet you refuse to list any of her good qualities like she cut out pork spending, she balanced the budget, she stands up to the big guy, she gave refunds to all Alaskan citizens who paid too much in money to the oil executives, she's smart about energy and she's for drilling here in the states (which will cut our gas and oil prices in half), and the numerous other good things she has done.  I've heard she's not experienced (but you won't admit that neither is Obama). Then of course when someone posts something positive about her you jump down their backs and are just really nasty.  And then what kind of comments do I hear about McCain?  He doesn't use the computer (someone was actually complaining about him not sending out emails himself on September 11th), and someone else was making fun of him because he doesn't comb his hair.  I hear that and think that there are people who have small minds.  He can't do either because he was beaten without mercy and he can't lift his arms up to do these activities (and you have the audacity to make fun of him for that?)  But you know what?  At least he can still put his hand over his heart when the pledge of allegience is being said and the national anthem is being played.

You know, if your going to say something negative about someone at least have a comeback with something negative that is halfway intelligent and counter it with something positive from the candidate you support.

And for petes sake, use John McCain's real name, not the phony acronyms you like to use.  He was in a POW camp for five years beaten til near death every day.  He's earned the respect to at least call him by his real name.  Whether or not you hate him so much, he is not Bush and he is not more of the same.  His policies and voting record proves differently.  You can't say he voted the same as Bush because Bush doesn't vote.  Anything that's been voted on that you want to blame Bush for you need to take a look at the democrat congress.  Their the ones voting, and its the democrats who have stopped the impeachment hearing for Bush.  Why????  McCain's policies, health care plan, his reform plan, his economy plan, and everything else about what he will do when he becomes president is different than what Bush has done.  Bush is Bush, McCain is McCain.  If anyone is to be compared to Bush it would be Obama because the people who are directing Bush are also the same group that is directing Obama.

So, can we please be civilized adults, and come up with hard facts before accusing one candidate of something that is obviously false.  Stick to issues and no rumors.

Don't want a fight, just want to ask, Does Obama respect the American Flag?

I saw this picture of his airplane before the makeover

and here it is after the makeover

His "symbol" "slogan" "trademark" or whateverthatis replaced the flag. I'm
sorry but I just don't understand why unless he has no respect for it.

Can someone explain without getting upset; just explain it.

I have heard Obama say that every American will have health insurance
and while that is a lovely thought, it is not a realistic one. Look what happened with children in Hawaii. People began dropping their own private insurance in favor of the public insurance and caused the system to fail. Unfortunately, health care is expensive and cannot be guaranteed by the government without a price. I think that it is a nice plan, but will ultimately fail because we have a lot of lazy people who think that Obama is going to be their goose that laid the golden eggs. It's as if some people here (and it is the deep south) believe that if they vote for Obama, he is going to ensure that everyone drives a Cadillac and eats lobster. It is silly and unfortunate. These people are still living in FEMA trailers. Did you know some people actually steal them? Now--don't get me wrong, I am sure that there are some hard luck stories of people with health problems and such that cannot get out of their FEMA trailers, but the vast majority of them are just lazy. It has been three years.. but I digress. I think that radical government change happens very slowly and Obama is ushering it in. My opinion. Feel free to disagree, but I feel that these programs are stepping stones. Oh--and TriCare is the military plan.
Obama is a natural-born American...see message

Now you can sleep well. I'm not voting for Obama, but I can't stand it when people stir crap up that isn't true.
OBAMA WON, the American people have spoken loudly
hahaha
