A car depreciates on average, depending on the type, apx 1500-2000 a year. If I want a car for a three year lease, I just pay the amount it depreciates during that time while I 'use' it, which would be around 5000 dollars, and any down payment to make the monthly lower. I don't need a fancy car, just a little cheapy to get me here and there without stalling at every corner. Maybe a chevy malibu, i've had mine since 1999 and its reliable, but its wanting to give up. The newer models are gorgeous.
