Well I guess he saw how well it worked with the HC supporters (most giving their opinion that we need a woman in there, we are voting cos its time for a woman, etc, etc and some only voting for her only because she's a woman). Guess he's so concerned with losing he'll stoop to anything. Talk about calling the kettle black. He proclaims Obama doesn't have the experience and he's young and new, and then he picks her? She's not ready to step in as President, she doesn't have any experience whatsoever. He's going to have a hard time explaining that one.

Again it goes to show McCain is not in touch with the American people. He picks a woman thinking that what all the women want, but luckily the women who supported Hillary are coming out saying we supported Hillary because of her position and viewpoints, not just because she was a women. I just believe he has just lost any chance to win.

She has no international experience, been governer less than 2 years and has no experience at anything. Guess he's making it perfectly clear he wants a running mate who will never question him. His ego is taking over and its going to sink him. He'll need the Swift Boat Veterans to fish him out of the water. Never mind her radical christian viewpoints. Everything he's been attacking Obama for being, he has just picked a running mate who is all that. How could he have gotten it so wrong? British troops will start a major withdrawal from Iraq next May under detailed plans on military disengagement to be published next month, The Observer can reveal.

The document being drawn up by the British government and the US will be presented to the Iraqi parliament in October and will spark fresh controversy over how long British troops will stay in the country. Tony Blair hopes that, despite continuing and widespread violence in Iraq, the move will show that there is progress following the conflict of 2003.

Britain has already privately informed Japan - which also has troops in Iraq - of its plans to begin withdrawing from southern Iraq in May, a move that officials in Tokyo say would make it impossible for their own 550 soldiers to remain.

The increasingly rapid pace of planning for British military disengagement has been revealed on the eve of the Labour Party conference, which will see renewed demands for a deadline for withdrawal. It is hoped that a clearer strategy on Iraq will quieten critics who say that the government will not be able to 'move on' until Blair quits. Yesterday, about 10,000 people demonstrated against the army's continued presence in the country.

Speaking to The Observer this weekend, the Defence Secretary, John Reid, insisted that the agreement being drawn up with Iraqi officials was contingent on the continuing political process, although he said he was still optimistic British troops would begin returning home by early summer.

'The two things I want to insist about the timetable is that it is not an event but a process, and that it will be a process that takes place at different speeds in different parts of the country. I have said before that I believe that it could begin in some parts of the country as early as next July. It is not a deadline, but it is where we might be and I honestly still believe we could have the conditions to begin handover. I don't see any reason to change my view.

'But if circumstances change I have no shame in revising my estimates.'

The disclosures follow rising demands for the government to establish a clearer strategy for bringing troops home following the kidnapping of two British SAS troopers in Basra and the scenes of violence that surrounded their rescue. Last week Blair's own envoy to Iraq, Sir Jeremy Greenstock, warned that Britain could be forced out if Iraq descends so far into chaos that 'we don't have any reasonable prospect of holding it together'.

For Blair, the question of withdrawal is one of the most difficult he is facing. The Prime Minister has abandoned plans, announced last February, to publish his own exit strategy setting out the milestones which would have to be met before quitting: instead, the plans are now being negotiated between a commission representing the Shia-dominated Iraqi government, and senior US and UK diplomats and military commanders in Baghdad.

Senior military sources have told The Observer that the document will lay out a point-by-point 'road map' for military disengagement by multinational forces, the first steps of which could be put in place soon after December's nationwide elections.

Each stage of the withdrawal would be locally judged on regional improvements in stability, with units being withdrawn as Iraqi units are deemed capable of taking over. Officials familiar with the negotiations said that conditions for withdrawal would not demand a complete cessation of insurgent violence, or the end of al-Qaeda atrocities.

According to the agreement under negotiation, each phase would be triggered when key security, stability and political targets have been reached. The phased withdrawal strategy - the British side of which is expected to take at least 12 months to complete - would see UK troops hand over command responsibility for security to senior Iraqi officers, while remaining in support as a reserve force.

In the second phase British Warriors and other armoured vehicles would be removed from daily patrols, before a complete withdrawal of British forces to barracks.

The final phase - departure of units - would follow a period of months where Iraqi units had demonstrated their ability to deal with violence in their areas of operation.

Blair will tackle his critics over Iraq in his conference speech, aides said this weekend, but would decline to give a public deadline for withdrawing troops. He is expected to make several major interventions on the war in the coming weeks, before a vote on the new constitution in mid-October, explaining how Iraq could be steered towards a sufficiently stable situation to allow troops to come home.

'What we are not going to set out is a timetable: what we are going to set out is a process of developing that security capability,' said a Downing Street source. 'We don't want to be there any longer than we have to be, the Iraqis don't want us to be there any longer than we have to be, but the Iraqi Prime Minister has made it very clear that our presence there is one that is necessary.'

It was revealed yesterday that an Iraqi judge issued the warrants for the arrest of the two rescued soldiers, accusing them of killing one policeman and wounding another, carrying unlicensed weapons and holding false identification.

The continuing preparations for a military withdrawal come, however, as officials are bracing themselves for a new political crisis in Iraq next month, with what many regard as the inevitable rejection of a new constitution by a two-thirds majority in three provinces, sufficient to kill the document and trigger new elections.

I have no reason to believe that if I parted ways with God as you have that my moral convictions would go with Him. I had moral convictions before I knew Christ. All knowing Him has done is strengthen them.

Geeezzzz piglet. Is there a GOOD way to murder a baby? I don't think so!! I don't care how they do it...it still kills them. Murder is rarely done in a "humane" manner. It would not be more palatable to me no matter how it was done. I mention how it is done because you continue to talk about maimed and mangled and bloody war casualties. That is why I bring the point that that is exactly what abortion does...maim, mangle, torture, and kill. Neither is pretty. Both are ugly, and both end with death. Would you want pictures of aborted babies on the 6:00 news? Would you like live video footage of a late term partial birth abortion with your evening meal? Perhaps we could have a half hour of war victims and a half hour of abortions?

I think you are wrong about abortion going underground. Women would start going to Mexico or to whatever state abortions were available. But at least the woman still has a choice of an illegal abortion or carrying the child. The child NEVER gets a choice. In your world that is fair. In mine, it is not. That being said, I realistically do not believe that we will ever live in a country again where abortion is illegal nationwide. I do not believe it will happen. That does not mean I will not continue to speak out against it or work with organizations to give women a choice other than abortion. And if called upon to vote for or against...it will be against. Just like I would not vote to legalize murder. Or theft. It is just amazing to me how outside the womb it is a crime to kill a child, inside the womb it is open season. Freaking amazing. That is why in a partial birth abortion they have to force a breech delivery, then pull back skin of neck, insert needle and suck the brain out, to collapse the skull, while the head is still inside the mother. So that the baby is dead when it is "delivered." If the head was out before that procedure, by law the child has been "born" and to kill it then would be murder. So, to be "legal," have to suck the brain out while the head still inside. Sick.

Going to war is not a unilateral decision. It requires a majority of Congress. Abortion requires a majority of one. Giving one human being total control and choice to take the life of another is morally wrong. Any other time that happens we call it murder without blinking an eye.

Steve and Rachel Larman say a strange credit card charge appeared on their statement this month ? a $2300 donation to Barack Obama?s presidential campaign. The Larman?s say they don?t want this to be about their political affiliation, but they say they?re not about to give the Obama campaign any help from their pocketbook

They said they notified Chase, their credit card bank, to report the fraud

?(They) said that they had seen-they were familiar with this,? said Steve Larman. ?It was fraud, they believe through telemarketing but they were going to be doing some more investigations.?
The Larman?s don?t want their politics to enter into what is essentially just a fraudulent charge. But they say that the charge involves the Obama campaign adds insult to injury for the registered Republicans

?They (Chase) kept on asking me ?are you sure you wouldnt have gone to a site in support of Obama?,? said Rachel Larman. ?And I repeatedly said ?Im voting for McCain - I would not be going to an Obama site?.?

Chase dropped the charge from the Larman?s card. The couple is thankful thay they caught the charge on the card, but worried that others may not see that type of fraud on their own credit cards before it?s too late.

It's not about what kind of job this guy can do, or how well he can lead the country. No it most certainly has not been! And I'm sick and tired of everyone making it out otherwise. It's always been about race and that's all its ever been about! I'm hopeful that anyone will be able to pull us out of this depression no matter what their color is or whether it be a man or woman. It's not going to be an easy job. But all through the campaign and to this day we kept hearing about how it's not about race. That was the line that this man from Illinois was trying to sell to us. He'd walk around and tell us he understands what we're going through, it's not about race. Then he'd talk about his grandmother being afraid of black me (uh, hello..I thought you said it wasn't about race). When he was elected my brother and his friends went out and celebrated in the streets because now we got a brother in there. He said to me, "you should be happy because we finally got a brother in the white house who is one of us". I asked him what does he mean "one of us", that's he's black like us so I should rejoicing and saying hallelulah thank you Jesus.

But this latest display of what he has planned for the innaugeration has got to be the most downright utter distasteful display of "flaunting" his race. Now at the inaugeration it's going to be a huge "Gone With the Winds" type of theme with ladies in their plantation dresses. I haven't read it yet, but I'm sure I'll be hearing about him dressing the blacks up like the what our ancestors were dressed when they were slaves. He has taken racism to a whole new level. This is disgusting and this is not what the men who founded this country had in mind. It took us years and years to get through the slavery issues and now here comes Mr. Obama bringing all that sh!t back up again and dividing people. I've got some friends who are white and nowhere in their history do they have any relatives who owned slaves, but now Mr. Obama is going to make all of them feel as though they are slave owners. I don't know what it is but why does America seem to get stuck and not be able to move forward. Instead of looking into the future he's dragging back up the plantation and slavery issues and making a big deal of them. I am just sick to death of coming on and reading how it's not about race when that's all that it is about. I voted for Mr. Obama because I like him. I didn't think he was qualified and he doesn't have the experience, but I'm willing to give a new unknown person a chance. Now he pulls this racial crap and it makes me ashamed to be black and more ashamed that I was conned into his lies and voted for him. (even the NAACP is criticizing this). It's not about race??????
