This happened while walking door to door
His true colors are coming through bright and clear. "Spread the wealth" came out of his own lips. He didn't even need an advisor for this one. Yea, he is going back to redo his economic plan which means all those who like being led by a nose ring and singing the praises of Obama's economic plan will now have to watch for a new and NOT improved plan. Same old, same old. Only the next one will be bigger taxes, more programs, more freebies and their little paychecks will be getting even smaller.
Yeah, I read this morning
where he is being criticized by the left for not appointing cabinet members who are "liberal enough."  LOL  Just goes to prove you can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all the people all the time.
This is the *new girlfriend* referred to...
in above post:

Bill and Belinda’s excellent adventure

But Clinton’s new, er, friendship isn’t helping his wife’s presidential aims, writes eric reguly

As potential girlfriends go, Belinda Stronach would rank as a true catch. She is single, youngish (she just turned 40), attractive, wealthy, impeccably well-connected and politically ambitious - glamorous in every respect. Two years ago, Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most powerful people on the planet. The tabloids cut to the chase: they called her the blonde bombshell or Bubba's blonde.

Bubba, of course, is Bill Clinton. He has been photographed with Stronach (right) several times. The sightings seem to be getting more frequent, leading to press speculation that their relationship has moved beyond official friendship - the description used by Stronach's PR people - to true romance. Poor Hillary Clinton. In the run-up to her presidential campaign, the last thing the New York senator needs is lurid stories about her skirt-chasing husband.

Two years ago, the woman Canadians refer to as Belinda quit both her job as CEO of the C$10 billion Magna International auto parts empire (created by her father, Frank Stronach) and her then husband - Norwegian speed-skating champion Johann Koss - for politics.

She was elected in a Conservative riding (constituency) just north of Toronto. More important, despite supporting abortion rights, gun control and same-sex marriages, she ran for leadership of the Conservatives - but lost to the right-winger Stephen Harper.
A year later she crossed the floor to join the governing Liberal party and was rewarded with a minor cabinet post. Alas, in January 2006, after barely six months in government for Belinda, the Liberals lost power. Belinda, though, held on to her seat and, less than two years after seeking to lead the Tories, found herself considering running for the Liberal leadership. But in April, after sizing up the competitors, including former Observer columnist and BBC presenter Michael Ignatieff, she dropped out of the race.

Clinton may not care too much. An acquaintance of Belinda's says: Bill was always more interested in her money than her breasts. Still, you can't help but wonder if his ultimate fantasy revolved around Hillary in the White House and Belinda running Canada: Which G8 leader should I visit this weekend?

pick there if anyone interested...

Listen, GIRLFRIEND....
No I am not kidding you. They may have fought him tooth and nail on everything, but what got passed got passed because they voted it in. Bill Clinton in and of himself did nothing except cigar toast Monica Lewinsky and bomb an aspirin factory. He alone could do NOTHING. Why you cannot get that, I don't understand. You need to get a library card and USE it and look at how the federal government actually works. And as to impeaching him...if those same Republicans had voted like they SHOULD have, he WOULD have been impeached, and you can thank them for THAT TOO, "girlfriend." And impeached he SHOULD have been! He BROKE THE LAW. He committed felony perjury. Lied under oath. A crime in all 50 states. Look THAT up in the library as well.
Dear Girlfriend(s)
Now if someone would have just blown Bush say....6 or 7 years ago, we could be rid of him already. If I wasn't such a big homo, I'd have volunteered myself.
Nite Gracie.
I found the comments on Morning Joe this morning

about Palin rather disgusting.  A bunch of overweight old men talking about how hot she is, the feelings (implying those sexual type of feelings) they get when 'near' her in person - Pat Bucanan (spelling?) jokes to stay away from his girlfriend.  It was like watching men talk about Playboy centerfolds.

Where are all the women who normally attack that type of behavior?  This woman has a husband, children.  The fact I would never vote for her does not stop me from being completely nauseated at how they disrespected her.

Should this type of talk be accepted regarding a presidential candidate at all, period?

Is she beautiful, yes. Is she funny, yes.  Is she a hunter who kills animals, yes.  I appreciate all of those things, but someone who cannot get men to respect her...that would be worrisome in a serious job or say, running an entire country, we are told is in crisis.  Not so sure I understand what is so 'gosh-darn' funny about it.

after Monday I

suppose they will have to revert to the rapid approach of the rapture or some such.  Or more topically, the War Against Christmas.  It is a shame there are no patriots outside the democrat party anymore . . .

No it was a fundraiser in Miami on Monday
It is usually buried in the articles about Obama's fundraiser. Was at Miami Intercontinental Hotel and Palin was not there.
Ha!! Best thing I've seen since Monday...lol nm
x
Whoops, that was Tuesday, Monday is MLK day - sm
another thing is all the people who will end up getting ripped off buying fake "tickets" to the inaugeration. I am sure there will be many. Good point made by thinkalike, all this is costing us taxpayers even more, and put the country even more in the hole.
...and all this before most of the $$ are even out the door.
This has nothing to do with Hannity. If you can't look past the messenger and get to the message, you'll miss the point. The dollars being wasted here are not conservative or liberal dollars - they're everyone's dollars.

And, it's probably much worse than this because none of this addresses the fraud and corruption that inevitably follow massive government spending that it can't really control. This was just about the stupidity of the projects themselves - not the other problems that can confidently be expected to follow. And it assumed that these projects really will cost the dollars cited, when we can also predict that there will be massive cost overruns in many of them.

Given the fact that we don't even know where a lot of the money is going (there's NO transparency here), I think it would be a pretty safe bet that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
McCain's fundraiser on Monday was $50K a ticket . . .
for a measly buffet dinner. At least the dems got Barbra at a bargain price of $30K comparatively.
McCain drops further in polls Monday.

The Sociopath Next Door

White House Diary of a Sociopath

August 16, 2005

As we read the marketing copy for The Sociopath Next Door: The Ruthless Versus the Rest of Us by Martha Stout, Ph.D (Broadway Books, March, 2006), we were reminded of an essay last year that the author E.L. Doctorow wrote on Bush. It included the following sentence: He [Bush] cannot mourn but is a figure of such moral vacancy as to make us mourn for ourselves. But is there more to what ails Bush from a mental health stand point?

Maybe the forthcoming book, The Sociopath Next Door, can help explore that question. Here is how the Broadway Books (a Division of Random House) catalogue describes the content:

We are accustomed to think of sociopaths as violent criminals, but in The Sociopath Next Door, clinical psychologist Martha Stout reveals that a shocking 4 percent of ordinary people have an often undetected mental disorder, the chief symptom of which is that that person possesses no conscience. They can do literally anything at all and feel absolutely no guilt.

One of their chief characteristics is a charisma that makes them more charming or interesting than other people, and tricky to identify. Sociopaths learn early on to show sham emotion, but underneath they are indifferent to others' suffering. They live to dominate and thrill to win.

We all almost certainly know at least one or more sociopaths already. To arm us against them, Dr. Stout teaches us to question authority, suspect flattery, and beware the pity play. Above all, she warns, when a sociopath is beckoning, do not join the game.

Ah yes, it appears, as Cindy Sheehan and countless others who have been on the receiving end of a sympathize publicly and smear privately Bush campaign know, this is a man who is truly disassociated from honest grief, pity or sympathy. He sees no relationship to his errant, narcissistic actions and their impact on people.

So we looked further into the issue and found out that the contemporary clinical term for being a sociopath is called APD (Antisocial Personality Disorder.) One can appear to be the most gregarious person in the world, but still be detached from sincere concern for the plight of others.

Just examine some of the essential characteristics of the APD/sociopath: It is under the DSM-IVÂT Associated Features and Disorders [scale] that individuals with APD are described as lacking empathy and being callous, cynical, and contemptuous of the feelings, rights, and suffering of others. They may have an inflated and arrogant self-appraisal, display a glib, superficial charm and The fondest APD image of self reflects unrealistic notions of superiority. When they encounter evidence that they are only human, they will attempt to restore self-esteem by exerting power. Individuals with APD have learned that they can, or should be able to, ignore the needs of others, do whatever feels compelling, and seduce or bully others to avoid adverse consequences.

Although not every possible characteristic of the APD/sociopath may apply to George W. Bush, some ring so true, you feel your head is clanging inside a bell: These individuals are untroubled by guilt or loyalty and may develop a talent for pathological lying. Individuals with APD place their personal desires against those of others; they believe that they alone deserve every advantage and become adroit at feigning innocent victimization to absolve themselves from blame.

We might add that the emotional/interpersonal scale for assessing APD/sociopathology looks for indications of:

glibness and superficiality

egocentricity and grandiosity

lack of remorse or guilt, lack of empathy

deceitfulness and manipulativeness

shallow emotions

It is always nothing more than speculation to be an armchair psychoanalyst, but sometimes you just got to go with the evidence at hand. Bush is a guy who is packaged as the compassionate conservative, but acts like the mob boss who sends out his minions to stick shivs in the backs of anyone who crosses him, even if they are doing it in the service of America, of which he is supposed to be the leader.

Yes, there are sociopaths among us. One of them, it would appear, has weaseled his way, twice, into the presidency.

Afternote: Of course, APD/sociopathic behavior lacks subtlety, depth, and modulation. Individuals with severe APD appear to live in a presocialized emotional world; feelings are experienced in relation to self but not to others. Such individuals are unable to experience emotions such as gratitude, empathy, sympathy, affection, guilt, or mutual eroticism that depend on the perception of others as whole, real, and meaningful. Dominant emotions are anger, sensitivity to humiliation, envy, boredom, contempt, exhilaration, and pleasure through dominance.

I think we've brung' em on and found our man's true nature.

As for the rebellious side against the status quo that sometimes manifests itself in an APD/sociopathic personality, one need only remember that the mission of the Bush Administration, as one insider told the New York Times, is to mold reality to the will of the Bush/Cheney worldview through the use of unrestrained power. They don't accept reality; they seek to alter it as they wish. Furthermore, Bush's contempt for working with the world community is an indication of sociopathic behavior on an international level. His disregard for the standard conventions, courtesies and rules of governance is also an indication of rebellion against existing institutions and organizational precedents.

Finally, his unrelenting willingness to descend into the gutter and embrace the treasonous and slanderous activity of Karl Rove is a clear indication that he is among the 4% of Americans who hide their sociopathic pathology behind a thin veneer of cordiality and amiability.

Just remember how he sneered and smirked every time he put someone to death in Texas. This guy gets high off of having the power to send people to die, and even higher off of using it.

They're not only next door,

they're on these boards, too, sans the charm that was described in the article you posted.

I was particularly struck by the following and how it applies to so many on these boards:

...the mission of the Bush Administration, as one insider told the New York Times, is to mold reality to the will of the Bush/Cheney worldview through the use of unrestrained power. They don't accept reality; they seek to alter it as they wish.

Again, I'm holding up three fingers, visible to the entire world.  Thankfully, most people are reasonable-thinking, intelligent, non-delusional people who see what is there:  THREE FINGERS.

The people we really have to fear are the ones who only see one finger, the bad finger, and they invent a reality of their own, and then accuse and attack based on their twisted reality of that one finger that they KNOW is aimed at them in a negative way.

They're not only next door.  They're among us right here.

Dont let the door hit ya on the way out!
Well, sweetie pie, if this liberal posting on a liberal board is bothering you..why dont you just mosey on back to the conservative board and then I wont be disturbing you?  No one is forcing you to come over here.  The disturbing thing, however, is that I fight back and debate  and will not let the neocon gang of three bully me.  Maybe it bothers you that you have met your match and that quite a few liberals are standing up to your nonsense..Getting to ya, huh?  Goooooooood..
You were just shown the door
by the weakest link...
If Bush were the guy next door I'd probably

I can see your point about him being personable to some people - I just don't think he is a good leader.  He doesn't seem to focus on the issues that mean the most to my family and myself, and therefore I will never support him.  I also heard he was a C student or something, and I think Presidents should be more intelligent than that.

I also heard he got 2 DUIs - I think only a selfish person would drive drunk and put other peoples' lives in danger.  I just don't trust the man in my gut.  Simple as that.  If he were my dopey neighbor next door who made corny, insensitive jokes I would probably like the man well enough, but I definitely don't like him representing America.

Bush says rebates going out Monday will boost economy
Bush says rebates going out Monday will boost economy

By TOM RAUM,

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush said tax rebates will start going out Monday, earlier than previously announced, and should help Americans cope with rising gasoline and food prices, as well as aid a slumping economy.

Democrats said they were glad the rebate checks were about to go out, but suggested that multinational oil companies were not among the businesses the stimulus package was originally designed to help.

"Starting Monday, the effects of the stimulus will begin to reach millions of households across our country," Bush said Friday in remarks on the South Lawn of the White House.

Those first rebates will be directly deposited into people's bank accounts. The Internal Revenue Service had been saying direct deposits wouldn't start until next Friday. Bush said paper checks would begin going out on May 9, a week earlier than previously announced.

"The money is going to help Americans offset the high prices we're seeing at the gas pump, the grocery store, and also give our economy a boost to help us pull out of this economic slowdown," Bush said.

Bush's emphasis on fuel and food prices differed from other comments he's made since signing the economic stimulus legislation, intended to aid the economy by boosting overall consumer spending - which accounts for roughly two-thirds of the nation's economic activity.

Bush has suggested the rebates could trigger a spending spree. "When the money reaches the American people, we expect they will use it to boost consumer spending," he said last month.

By saying expressly that people could use these one-time checks to pay for such necessities as food and gas, Bush underscored the deepening challenges facing the economy.

Democrats were quick to pick up on the change of focus.

"It's galling to think that taxpayers' stimulus checks will be lining the pockets of OPEC. The sad truth is that the average American family will spend almost their entire stimulus check on higher gas prices this year," said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., chairman of the Joint Economic Committee of Congress.

OPEC is the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

"Unless the administration gets OPEC to increase oil supply, American consumers are going to be in for a scorching summer of $4 gasoline with no relief in sight," Schumer said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., agreed that people "need this rebate to cope with the rising cost of gas and groceries." She said that, while the rebates would help to get the economy moving, there was a need for a second stimulus package "and we have begun some conversation with the administration and Republicans."

As he had earlier in the week, Bush used the word "slowdown" to describe the state of the economy. He has denied that the nation is in a recession, although many economists say it is.

"It's obvious our economy is in a slowdown. But, fortunately, we recognized the signs early and took action," Bush said.

The rebates - up to $600 for an individual, $1,200 for a couple and an additional $300 for each dependent child - are the centerpiece of the government's $168 billion stimulus package, enacted in February. Roughly 130 million households are expected to get them.

Bush made the comments before boarding his helicopter at the start of a day trip to Connecticut.

People must file a tax return for their 2007 income to be eligible for a rebate check.

The IRS now says all checks for those who filed tax returns on time are scheduled to be deposited or mailed by July 11.

The economy - burdened by the collapse of home prices, a financial and credit crisis, and now rising energy and food prices - grew at an anemic 0.6 percent in the final three months of last year and is believed to have gotten even weaker in the first three months of this year.

The government will report on the first quarter's performance next week.

With the economy faltering, the nation's unemployment rate has climbed to 5.1 percent, the highest since September 2005, when it suffered from the devastating blows of the Gulf Coast hurricanes. Job losses in the first three months of this year neared the quarter-million mark.

Foreclosures have surged to record highs and financial companies have taken multibillion losses on mortgage investments that soured. The situation has sent a tremor through Wall Street and has sent the administration, Congress and presidential contenders looking for ways to provide relief.

AP Economics Writer Jeannine Aversa contributed to this report.

I saw part pf Larry King Monday night.
He was trashing Palin and laughing at Stephanie Miller's really nasty jokes. The media have intruded into where they should have never gone. They have laughed and acted better than women from small town, kind of like Obama calling us bitter and clinging to our guns and God.She has been given the Bork and Clarence Thomas treatment. It is a very sad day for all women. They did this to Hillary, just not to the extreme in such a short time. The media really really want Obama to win.
Sounds like you libs....can hardly wait for Monday revelations....
.
Bush opened the door to socialism...
I'll admit that.

And your Obama will take full advantage of it.

You're the one that can't understand, and it's useless to even talk to you at all about it.

Won't even try anymore, just let you go merrily on your way down the socialist path Obama has you on, and he has you right where he wants you.

Ignorant of what he's going to do.

Bridger, only a cult would knock on your door.

Secret Service Shows Up At Texas Mom's Door...

Quote:
Last week, here in America, they came for Jessica Hughes, and I will not be silent. I will not turn away, hoping, in the end, they will not come for me.

Jessica Hughes of Lufkin, Texas, former Marine, mother of three, answered her cell phone in the car, coming home from the emergency room. Her 9-year-old had suffered a mild concussion, but was OK.

The caller was a female Obama volunteer who asked if Jessica would support Obama for president.

Jessica replied, "No, I don't support him. Your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the state Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets; I think you should find something better to do with your time." Then Jessica hung up.

The next day, a man and a woman in suits showed up at the door of her home, identifying themselves as members of the Secret Service.

The Secret Service agents stated that the Obama campaign had complained of a death threat. They had quoted Jessica as saying, "I will never support Obama, and he will wind up dead on a hospital floor."

Jessica's husband had heard Jessica's side of the original phone call and verified the actual quote. To which the female agent replied, "Oh? Well why would she (the Obama volunteer) make that up?"

Jessica replied that the Obama volunteer was probably unhappy about what Jessica had said about her candidate. The female agent then said "That's right, you were rude!"

The male agent then displayed a file with Jessica's full name prominently printed on it and asked her how she felt about Obama. At this point, the former Marine told the agent "in no uncertain terms" (as she later recounted) that this was America and that the last time she checked, she was allowed to think whatever she wanted without being questioned by the Secret Service. And was being "rude" a federal crime now too?

The agents then admitted they had no tape of the conversation, just the quote from the Obama campaign.

Responding to Jessica's questions, the agents would not identify themselves by name, nor reveal the name of the Obama volunteer who had made the complaint. The agents did indicate that Jessica was not in a court of law yet, and that they were trying to not embarrass her "by going to all her family and neighbors."

To these implied threats, Jessica invited the agents to speak to whomever they wanted, and stated she would happily go to court since she had done nothing wrong.

Jessica asked the agents, "Look, someone calls me unsolicited on my cell phone to ask me to support their candidate, and I can't tell them why I don't?"

The Secret Service left Jessica that day, but she could not get the "visit" out of her mind.

With the President meeting with the Republicans in closed door talks to come to agreements,.....sm
find middle ground, listen to their concerns, and try to modify where needed? Condemn and Condemn, has a Republican come forward with an alternative package? George was handing out money o the banking pirates before he left office, remember?

Built into this plan, which is very complex, are social programs for schools, which are going down fast, health aid, food stamps for those who have lost their jobs and need to eat while looking for new jobs that Obama is tring to create, funds to build companies to work with alternative energy and green solutions to get us less dependent on foreign oil and stop poisoning our earth.....

There is no quick fix!!! Just like the Great Depression, it is going to take time to reap all the benefits from this package, but they are meant to be real, lasting jobs and benefits to our society, not a quick boo-boo bandaide, which is all that Bush could provide with his quickie tax rebates!!!! Take off the jaundiced glasses and blinders, forget party lines and affiliations, and just go to MSN or CNN and read the copious outlines there.
I do. Leaves the door wide open for blatant health care fraud..

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You've said before that you're leaving, but you and your goons can't sta

One of the police chiefs
of one of the parishes in LA said that civilian water management people and civilian engineers etc. were being recruited to come there because the National Guard was overwhelmed in size and in capability. He said some had just come for 2 or 3 missions in Iraq or Afghanistan and were exhausted. I'm sorry I did not get his name. I will be more vigilant next time so if you want to tell someone they are alledging something that is untrue you'll get the right person.  I's just the messenger. Since I am not there I have no idea how many National Guard are there, on call, whatever, but I still believe they are needed here more than there.
The US is becoming a police state.sm
It is not full-fledged yet, but 95% there. There is a rush to incarcerate (1 in 136 Americans are in jails and prisons). National ID card by 2010, RFID chips, face scanners installed at high schools, those who disagree with government are called homegrown terrorists (another false flag) or traitors. It is very well known that both Bush presidents support the one world government (NWO). The USA no longer resembles the Constitutional Republic it is supposed to be. Land of the free is an illusion.
We are not world police
So Saddam was a bad person..so what..that means we are supposed to sacrifice our hard earned taxes to pay for a war in Iraq?  That means we are supposed to sacrifice our brave military to invade a nonthreatening country?  There are many places in this old tired world where people are being brutalized..It is not our responsibility to be the world police, it is not our place to save the world from itself.  If Iraq was a threat to America, that would have been a different story.   This invasion and control of a Middle Eastern country was thought up in the early 1990s by Cheney, Perle, Wolfowitz.  On the other hand, we are no better than Saddam now..We have killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis, destroyed an ancient country, we cant even give them full time electricity or fresh water or safe secure homes and jobs.  The war was wrong, the situation in Iraq is worse than when Saddam ruled.  Iraq was better off with Saddam in power.  However, keep trying to justify the war..It provides me a chuckle daily when I see the republican spinmeisters come up with a different reason for invasion almost daily. Bush says Iraq will be a comma in the history books..I disagree, Bush will be looked upon as a warmonger who got it so wrong, a failed presidency
Not our job to police the world...
Clinton - Kosovo. Clinton - Somalia. People died there too. If we had stayed in Somalia and nipped AL Qaeda in the bud there...if Clinton had accepted bin Laden from the Sudan...if, if, if. Have you read the Iraq Liberation bill? The idea for invading Iraq to topple saddam was born during Clinton's term...Bush did not invent it. All the same people who protest it now voted it into law. How would you expect anyone to take you seriously? It is never the liberal's fault. That is the one thread that remains true.

Yes, it is a matter of CHOICE. Why, though, is it only YOUR choice?

You danced around it, but it is very true...because there were some botched abortions in the 40's and 50's, we now have abortion on demand, our own genocide to the tune of 1.2 million a year, and somehow this is acceptable to you in the name of CHOICE. TO some of us, it isn't. You get choice, we don't. You need to change the name of your party, because it has little to do with democracy. If abortion was put to a vote of the people it would fail. Precisely why your party will not allow that to happen.

Because of this war we have ignited the fires of extremists and terrorists? Where were you for the first world trade center bombing? Where were you for Khobar Towers...the USS Cole, the african embassies? Somalia when your soliders bodies were dragged through the streets? They have been ignited for years, but were ignored for 8 of those years by Bill Clinton!

You enable abortion in the name of choice...you advocate it. If it went to ballot, you would vote for it. That is advocating it, no matter how you try to parse words.

Why is it easier to get incensed about war than about abortion? Do you think those infants want to be killed? Do they not have a right to life? Where is their choice?
Have you ever lived in police state?

Because if you had you'd definitely be able to see the VAST difference between a police state and the American state.

Also, your one-world government theory about the Bush's doesn't sync with your view that Bush is alienating the rest of the world, but I guess you think because Bush wants democracy for the world he somehow is planning to take over the world.

Wow, you are very steeped in conspiracy theory I'll give you that.

And who appointed you the "Posting Police?" sm
Everybody is entitled to an opinion just as you are. You should be able to get a pretty good idea of what the posts will say from the subject line. If you are so thin-skinned that you have to take offense at somebody elses posting, then either leave the board and go elsewhere or just don't open the thread. Easy as that.

The intent of the post was not to compare an embryo to a turkey, but rather simply a joke saying that she would take up one cause but not the other.  If you read the posts below you might understand the joke.

However, since you mentioned it, I'm sure I could make that comparrison.  Our ideas of when life begins are obviously not the same.

Police Memorial Week
Still another example of a President to be ashamed of. He is the First President to show such disrespect!

Hello everyone,

May 10-16 was Police Memorial Week.   It is a week to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving as a law enforcement officer in the United States
.  The week is filled with various events to honor fallen police officers and their families. To provide you with Just a little background,  May 15 was established by President John Kennedy as "Peace Officers Memorial Day" and the calendar week of May 15 is known as "Police Week" according to presidential proclamation 537.

     http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=24099

The point of this email is to inform you of something I believe everyone should be aware of. President Barrack Obama did not attend this event. This may seem insignificant, but every year for at the past 21 years the president, regardless of political affiliation, has given a speech on May 15 on the steps of the
U.S. capitol to the family members of fallen hero's.

I am sure the president has more pressing issues to focus on than attending a ceremony for the widows, parents, and children of fallen police officers. It is understandable he may have needed to miss the ceremony for a more urgent matter and I say that with all seriousness. But, at the time of the ceremony where do you think Barrack Obama was? He was giving a tour of the White House to the 2008 world series champion Philadelphia Phillie's. I know the Phillie's are important and all, but the man could not take 30 minutes out of his day to take a short car ride 10 minutes down Pennsylvania Ave. to the Capitol, give a 10 minute speech and then drive back to the Whitehouse?

This is not a political issue and has nothing to do with being a democrat, republican, green party, independent, or whatever other political affiliation you may have chosen. This is about honoring fallen officers and paying your respects. It is obvious we know where Barrack Obama stands when it comes to supporting your local, state, and federal law enforcement officers.

I feel everyone should know what occurred on
May 15, 2009. You will probably not hear this in the mainstream media so I would encourage you to share this with anyone and everyone you want.

.  The week is filled with various events to honor fallen police officers and their families. To provide you with Just a little background,  May 15 was established by President John Kennedy as "Peace Officers Memorial Day" and the calendar week of May 15 is known as "Police Week" according to presidential proclamation 537.

Got it!

Chertoff says bird flu = police state.
It may not be foreign terrorists you have to fear at your door! - This week Chertoff announced that in the event of a widespread bird flu epidemic here it would not be the medical authorities or health departments who will be running the show - the Department of Homeland Security intends to take over and make our medical and quarantine decisions for us.

Apparently with the migrations of the world's birds about to begin, all the experts are saying that this bird flu could rapidly spread across the world and become a really serious threat.

What has the Bush Admin. done to prepare? They bought themselves 100,000 doses of Tamiflu. You, on the other hand, can wing it. There's no more left. Let's see, 100,000 doses ought to just about make sure his haves and have-more base will have plenty to go around.

Bush supporters in la la land will have no trouble believing those doses are meant for babies and the elderly, and of course somehow for themselves. For the rest of us, the word is: Garlic, goldenseal and echinacea, and stop filling the bird baths.
Iraq: Insurgents infiltrate police

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Insurgents have infiltrated Iraq's security forces, a senior Iraqi official said, as the fallout continued over British forces' use of armed vehicles to smash their way into a police station to rescue two undercover soldiers.

The British government said it would not pull troops out of Iraq after the fury over the controversial rescue of two special forces soldiers arrested in Basra and allegedly handed over to local militia.

Two Iraqis died in the violence, Reuters reported.

Iraq's National Security Adviser, Dr Mouwafak al-Rubaie, said he did not know how far security forces had been undermined by insurgents.

He told the BBC: Our Iraqi security forces in general, police in particular, in many parts of Iraq, I have to admit, have been penetrated by some of the insurgents, some of the terrorists as well.

I can't deny this. We are putting in place a very scrupulous, very meticulous vetting procedure in the process of recruiting a new batch of police and Iraqi army, which will, if you like, clean our security forces as well as stop any penetration in future from the insurgents and terrorists.

Al-Rubaie added: I can't give you a percentage of the extent of the penetration, but I have to admit that the Iraqi security forces are penetrated, to what extent I don't know.

Meanwhile U.S. officials revealed that nine Americans, including five soldiers, were killed by bombs in Iraq during Monday and Tuesday.

Four troops, assigned to the 2nd Marine Division, were killed Monday in Ramadi, the U.S. military said. The deaths brought to 1,904 the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq. (Full story)

In Basra Wednesday the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior said it was looking into what led to UK armored fighting vehicles bulldozing the wall of a Basra police station jail in a bid to free the special forces soldiers.

Inside, troops discovered that the two men had been handed over to the militia by Iraqi police and freed them.

The men's capture Monday came just a day after British forces in Basra arrested two leading members of the outlawed Mahdi Army which is loyal to firebrand cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and is widely believed to have heavily infiltrated the local Iraqi police, the UK's Press Association reported.

The two arrested men from the Mahdi Army were the group's Basra area commander, Sheikh Ahmad Majid al-Fartusi, and his aide Sajjat al-Basri, PA said.

According to PA, the two British men detained by police were members of the Special Air Service and appeared to have been quickly handed over to militiamen by police.

The mission to rescue them, which was condemned by many Iraqis, was launched amid fears they could face summary execution, PA said.

One Iraqi member of parliament said that following the arrest of the SAS men, the Mahdi Army had tried to take them hostage to exchange them for its two leaders.

Four tanks invaded the area. A tank cannon struck a room where a policeman was praying, policeman Abbas Hassan told Reuters.

Standing next to mangled cars outside the police station and jail that he said were crushed by British military vehicles, he added: This is terrorism. All we had was rifles.

A spokesman for Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said the British operation against the jail had been a very unfortunate development but his office later released a statement saying there was no crisis in relations with the British.

Iraqi policemen at the jail Tuesday surveyed a mass of rubble, broken plywood and air conditioning units where their perimeter wall and a number of prefabricated structures once stood.

A number of flattened cars appeared to have been run over by British Warrior armored fighting vehicles.

The two special forces soldiers, who were travelling undercover, were arrested after allegedly becoming involved in a firefight with Iraqi police at a checkpoint. Iraqi officials claimed they had shot dead a local policeman and wounded at least one other.

The British soldiers are believed to have feared the men were really insurgents dressed in police uniforms, PA said.

British Defence Secretary John Reid defended the subsequent action by British troops against the Jamiat police station jail, saying it was absolutely right.

We do not have designs to stay (in Iraq) as an occupying imperial power. Nor are we going to cut and run because of terrorists, Reid was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

The paper said that Reid and British defense chiefs would meet Iraqi PM al-Jaafari Wednesday in London to discuss security issues.

In dramatic scenes outside the jail Monday, British troops were confronted by an angry mob, hundreds strong, throwing stones and petrol bombs and several soldiers suffered minor injuries.

After they discovered the two SAS men were not in the jail, Iraqi police were confronted with a 30mm cannon and revealed they had been given to the militia.

Brigadier John Lorimer, commanding officer of 12 Mechanised Brigade in Basra, said: We will be following up with the authorities in Basra why the soldiers were not immediately handed over to the multinational forces as Iraqi law shows that they should have been.

It is of deep concern that British soldiers held by the police should then end up being held by militia, he added.

You need some serious education on fascist police states
if you are referring to the U.S. Now, parts of France on the other hand has had to become a police state at times due to the riots against almighty socialism. Irony is a fun thing to watch play out sometimes and also how people think the grass is greener anywhere but where they are.
ROFL. Enter the typo police....
at least you found a different subject to attack on. Still snide, but nevertheless...attack, attack, attack. I look forward to your report on all the other posts and then posting our QA scores. Hop to it! LOL. geezzzzz.

Michigan Police Officer's Take on Obama...
This was forwarded to me by a boyhood friend who is a retired cop.

Please pass this along to everyone that you have on your e-mail list because this is just the beginning if this arrogant, egotistical, super liberal, president wannabe gets into office....

To all,

I have read all of the emails from not only some of the MTOA board members, but from other Law Enforcement & Military personnel about Barack Obama's rudeness and what seems to be disgust for basically anyone in uniform. Well, it's my turn to add to the list of emailers and here it is:

So members of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Police, (me included) and other local agencies inside Calhoun County are working with Secret Service in the security of Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama's bus arrives in Battle Creek and pulls into the stadium area. Before Mr. Obama exits the bus, he has the Secret Service get off and tell all Law Enforcement personnel in uniform that they now have to stand behind the bus so Mr. Obama is not seen with anyone in a Law Enforcement uniform before he gets off or while in the public view. So, everyone from Michigan State Police, Sheriff's Departments and other agencies look at each other for a brief second, go and stand behind the bus out of sight so Mr. Obama does not have to see, or been seen with, what to him is 'undesirables' since he refuses to been seen or even acknowledge Military or Law Enforcement personnel in uniform. And he wants to be our commander-in-chief!

At a time of war and terrorism in our world, this presidential candidate who is being protected by various branches of the military & law enforcement at the tax payers expense, refuses to acknowledge, be seen with, have in his photographed background, any type of Military or Law Enforcement in uniform.

But this is not in the headlines or in the news or on TV. The TV news doesn't show us marching around behind the bus. In the future, look and see if you can see a single soldier or police officer in uniform when you see Obama. Why? I wonder what the story or media frenzy would be if it was Muslims, blacks, whites, Jews, or any other race, gender, religion, and/or occupation, that Mr. Obama refused to be seen with or have around him.

Why would I make this up? Everyone in Law Enforcement knows we have traditionally had more funding under Democrats.

Just food for thought leading up to November 4th.
