YES MY DEAR. ITS TRUE. ALL THE EMPLOYEES THAT WERE WORKING AT MUMBAI, HYDERABAD AND COIMBATORE WERE FIRED AND 3 BRANCH OFFICES CLOSED BY HEARTLAND INFORMATION SERVICES MANAGERS. ALL WERE COMPELLED TO SIGN THE RESIGNATION LETTERS. THE COMPANY WAS NEVER PROFITABLE IN THEIR HISTORY AND WILL NEVER BE PROFITABLE UNTIL THEY REMOVE FEW MORE BIGHEADS

Heartland would have to be the worst managed company that is in the industry. The accounts are horrible and while I sit waiting for work, I'm sure the OTC is slammed. E-mails, phone calls are all blown off as if I'm asking for too much ----- ALL I WANT IS TO BE TREATED LIKE AN EMPLOYEE AND NOT A PIECE OF DIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I requested this morning at Heartland to send out my article that I wrote in response to this layoff to employees at the company, but I was told no. I was going under the premise of the right of free speech. Hmm, wonder why they don't want me to send it out??!!

Heartland Information Services - Parent Co Sells
Heartland information services announced yesterday that HCR ManorCare (parent company) is going to sell them. There is talk that HCA Corporate may purchase Heartland. All of this is going to happen by September.
Management Change: Tracey Boesch, CEO left. Sales manager (Denise) is taking her spot and Paula Walsh, Director of Production is now the VP of US Operations.

Heartland already closed two offices
in India...they are surely closing down entire transcription business by coming December
Sources saying they were never making any money in transcription business. How will someone make money by sending work overseas and that too not keeping a track of what each individual Transcriptionist or Editor or QA is producing?
I thought the other Heartland had closed
shop because of their financial situation and bad business practices.

I was offered a job with them. Curious as to how good their benefits are, how easy the program is, and if the dictations are REALLY awful or just as any others. Second, if you want to talk about cherry-picking, it belongs on the Main board as it is a transcription issue in all companies. A word of caution, though: Make sure you discuss the issue and stop the personal boxing matches and name-calling. If you have problems with a thread, do not try to police it - report it properly, please.

MQ Asheville NC closed several sm
years ago because of off shoring. Seems an employee suspected off shoring because the dictated and transcribed times that were coming back did not jive. Did some checking and confirmed her suspicions. The real kicker here is that this particular MQ office was doing ONLY VA ACCOUNTS! Hows that for giving out identities. Nothing like all the information on our soldiers, names, SS#s, etc. etc. She reported this. It was on all the news stations, big news. Long and short of it, they closed the Asheville office. People offered jobs in offices in other states or at home EXCEPT the person who ratted on MQ. I am sure her career is ruined but we need MTs who are not afraid to stand up. This profession is getting way out of control!!!!!!!

I used to work for Lanier transcription before it closed.
I worked directly there at the site in Florida. The Lanier machine (like dictaphone) is great. If you use the Software developed by Lanier for text it is also great. I would not worry about the difference. I actually preferred that system to the C-phone. Of course now we have Dictaphone Extext with the demographics filling in and the 2 working together. But the Lanier system used to be wonderful. I worked on it for many years. High recommendations to that product.
Did anyone else when they closed have problems with their insurance not being paid
even though the premiums were deducted from your check. I found out my policy had not been paid since October 1st and had to catch it up on my own. Letter and email have gone without response (no surprise there) and phone has been disconnected. Anyone know what agency would cover this. Would have to think it is illegal to withdraw premiums and then not pay them. Seems to me I should be reimbursed for those 3 months.

2. There is no compromise to patient care.
These are EXCUSES you've developed in your stubborn mind set to fall back on as justification to refuse to do VR, rather than admit you're scared you won't be able to cut it. It's as simple as that.

Medical transcription business booming

Medical transcription firm HealthScribe India, which uses India’s large pool of English-speaking graduates to enter medical data on US patients, expects its revenue to nearly double annually over coming years.
“I expect our turnover to grow at 80 percent compounded annual growth rate for the next few years,” HealthScribe’s Chief Executive Officer Tony Hales told Reuters in an interview.
The company, a joint venture between Max India and Healthscribe Inc of the United States, currently does $6 million in business a year.
The booming medical transcription business has become a $ 6 billion industry in the USA.
Transcription professionals key in medical data such as patient histories or treatment into computers after doctors in the USA phone the transcription centre and verbally record their observations. Once keyed into computers the data is transferred back to US hospitals via e-mail.
Global Centre
India has become a global hub for medical record transcription business with the establishment of high-speed telecom links and its large number of English-speaking graduates.
The fact that wages in this field in India are only 15 percent of US salaries is the biggest draw for firms such as HealthScribe to set up shop in India, Hales said.
“Our (HealthScribe’s) only limitation for growth has been time and experience,” Hales said. The company was not adding more than 75 to 100 employees a month to ensure that the quality of work is maintained, he explained.
Hales said it takes about four years for a local employee to match the quality of work done by his counterpart in the USA.
Other foreign companies in the same industry with operations in India include US-based HeartLand Information Systems and CBay Systems (India).
The growth of such services has been fuelled by rising demand to maintain basic hospital data and records and use these as legally recognised documents for US doctors to support medical decisions. Reuters

I am sorry for all of you. I had the miserable experience of working for Heartland a few years ago. I stayed only 6 months so I didn't have to reimburse them $2000 for their flying me to Toledo for training (what a joke that was) me. For those of you who want to write their clients, be careful. It technically could be a violation of HIPAA. Instead, write the newspapers where the client is located. You can bet that their staff members read the letters to the editors. A letter to the client could just get buried by the administration. I know of at least 2 instances where a client was outsourcing to India, but their staff was unaware of it. Do not, of course, mention the name of the client. Call it a local medical facility or a medical facility located in this state or area if there is only one medical facility in that particular town... something like that. It has been a few years since I worked for Heartland, but while with the company, I edited reports typed in India. If any of you want to E-mail me with the city and state (no other information) where a client is located, I will be happy to write a letter to an Editor too. Best of luck to all of you.
